I like how through his experiences' in Legends of Tomorrow, Damien Darkk is experienced in time travel stuff.
He definitely went thru alot fighting Oliver and the legends
He's a different Damien. Thawne changed the timeline. That's why Barry had to show him the other timeline where he fought the Legends with Nora and eventually redeemed and sacrificed himself. He's probably not the Damien who fought Oliver either since Thawne changed everything since the particle accelerator explosion. Damien is very old and well versed in magics and science. He probably learned about time travel at some point of his earlier life or Thawne!Barry taught him.

So these timeline versions of reverse flash and darkh did face legends one way or another under different circumstances. Maybe because darkh wanted malus powers in present day and legends came to stop them and he teamed up with reverse flash, which he may have met sometime in between. as in original timeline it was thawne that came to ask darhk for his help.
Agreed, Arrow's Damien Darkh was only charming thanks to the actor Neal McDonough, legends Damien Darkh was written as a very dynamic version and allowed the actor more free reign.
Now this is just hurts seeing how far Damien came to being somewhat of a good man and now Thawne just goes and screws that up.

He flips the script Barry tells him everything and Damien is willing to die for Nora again.
The saddest thing about Barry is that after everything Thawne has done to him, deep down he can't deny the fact that he was his mentor and he knows how impersonate him.
Oh how you have it so wrong. Thawn is literally obsessed with barry and the original time line flash rejected thawn which made him evil and create his own speed force to become like the flash but the reverse as he explained. Barry inspired him to get speed hell for a long time he wanted to be barry.

He is literally obsessed with barry. It's like a sick obsessed because you can obviously see because he couldent be faster he had to literally steal Barry's life. What sane person does that beside an sick individual that's obsessed with you

is kinda funny how, in this timeline, dahrk still has history of working with reverse flash despite the legion of doom either never forming or forming differently? because damian knowing of anachronisims seems to imply the events of mallus still happened in this timeline

Thawne met Damien prior to the legion, he hired him to cause trouble in the forties.
The writers gave this plot half a braincell you could tell they just wanted to switch Barry and Thawne and didn't care how they did it.

Yeah. The black on the suit was to show that he's the opposite of Barry. He was intimidating and menacing when he vibrates his body and makes his eyes glow bright red.

Seeing Barry impersonate Thawne here makes it very clear Savitar is still in him
I never really viewed at like that since Savitar is gone and Barry never embraced that side of him. Barry impersonating Thawne shows how long of a mentor he was to him and knows his personality.

I missed Damien.. Such a lovable villain
I love “evil” Barry,, just the way he acts like this version of him slaughtering his friends was easy is creepy in the best way. The only thing that wouldve made this episode better was if Barry had flashes of him and Darhk killing Cisco, the Legends, and Ray, that couldve just driven home the crazy factor with him and also wouldve allowed the writers to play more with his mental health going forward (maybe whenever he sees a legend or cisco pop up, probably in a fight, he wouldve remembered that and faltered. Which would give the writers a more easy way for him to loose fights (although this would mainly occur in crossovers going forward but that would still apply). It would also be awesome if after they reintroduce the multiverse we see another version of this Barry, but the one from this actual timeline who remembers killing them, woulda been a savitar situation but this time i think itd be cooler, given that Savitar only really killed Iris in the timeline he was from.

yeah but that was thawne pretending to be a "barry allen" that is known as the reverse flash while also being the flash. Its why Damien comments saying that he is running low on speed cause each and everytime Thawne met with Damien as the reverse flash he could not see his face and his voice was distorted. This is first time seeing what barry allen actually looks like.

It gives similar vibes but not all the way. because barry is impersonating a villain. not being one like savitar was. All of this caught him by surprise. and he has to play the part. while savitar actually embraced it. and became the villain. Which is why it's different.
