I hate how good looking minorities can do so well with their own ethnic group but Indian and Asian good looking men get out in the friend zone by their own people sit of the time. Then good looking white men can date not just their own but also interracially so easily. I spoke to my Indian American friend who’s just as good Looking as you and I don’t think it’s fair that it takes a 6 figure salary and good looks to get a hot girl as an abcd. (I’m not white)
Just... wow. This week has been one of the roughest I've ever had, shitty gigs, barely making money, stressed and despairing about paying the next rent. The only solace I found was in putting my running shoes and blasting 10km on the trails near where I'm living. In fact, I just did that, got inside again, opened my UA-cam and saw this. Thanks for putting out banger after banger during my hardest times, my man.
I’m praying for you Vinicius, keep your head up. Jesus loves you, the crosses you receive are to strengthen you and bring you closer to knowledge of God. I am sure you will be blessed very soon, He is good.
I have been lifting for 3 years and rarely did cardio. After experiencing the "runners high" and how running improves athleticism, mental health, cardiovascular endurance, etc... it has become an essential part of my training routine. For those who hate running, you are probably unaware of the types of running (easy, tempo, speed, long-distance). You don't have to create a PR every time you run, just like you don't hit a 1RM every time you lift.
Running can seriously improve mental health so much. I've seen an improvement in both physical and mental health for the past few months after a run in the morning.
When you start to get happy and content, is the time you start to plateau. Be grateful, but not content with only what you have. Push your goals- it's half the work, but to realise the goal you're now aiming for is fare more difficult to obtain than that you have achieved now and mentally preparing yourself for it will help. This comment is for you Cap, for me and anyone and everyone who's feeling lost.
around 6 months ago, i came across this video and immediately started running. Since then, I have run 3 half marathons and 1 full marathon. I am currently training for a duathlon. I came back to say thank you :)
I took muscle mechanics in school, and it is true - over time the muscle fiber composition can switch from a slower type to a faster type and vice versa based on repeated stimulus (i.e. running). But I think the main effect from cardio is the gains you make in your heart (figuratively and literally) lol. Started doing HIIT during quarantine and holy shit I started feeling like a god after just like 2 weeks lol. Now I'm re-inspired to start running. Cheers CS!
this confirmed for me that running has so many benefits! i’ve been running daily since 2020 and it’s really gotten me to a new mental space and the runner’s high is the best way to start my day 😌
I love running. Today I didn’t feel like it but I went for a run anyway. I did pretty bad by my standards, but the feeling of doing it anyway is a reward in itself
It is a great mental exercise like you mention in "keep motion in life". Practicing pushing past the excuses, aches and lack of motivation will help in other areas as well.
RUNNING HAS CHANGED MY LIFE… i was very depressed then i started running every day and i have grown alot since then… running hast built a compound type of effects in my self improvement… I LOVED THE VIDEO… much love
I have been running every day for the past 6 months and The Damaged Men podcast and your productivity playlist is what I listen to while running. One important tip for beginners is that do enough stretches before running if you want to avoid injuries
Cap lemme tell you, I have severe anxiety and running is the best thing for me, it completely cleanse the anxiety thought process, and whenever I feel depressed or my energy levels seems low that I can't lift, I just simply go for a run and it works like magic, it's really an exercise for the heart and the mind to be happy, infact I'm gonna go for a run now.
As a running coach I really think most people believe running should be this hard thing they do so they make it hard when in fact when I have a runner come to me for coaching most often, regardless of their fitness abilities or running history, I slow them down. Helping them nail the easy run improves how they feel during and after the workout, you can run farther and more frequent or consistent and you don't accumulate all this fatigue, it just feels better and you can crush the occasional harder workout even better! As a South Dakota runner I've also been really grateful to have running as it absolutely gets me outside no matter the weather, I have the proper gear and once I get out there and once I get going I'm always glad I do :-). I actually didn't replace my old treadmill for this last winter and instead just bought some new tights and a new winter jacket and it was fantastic. I think not having the option to use my treadmill definitely made it easier for me to go outside, I also had the Boston Marathon to train for, but again in a way being forced to get outside absolutely gave me a healthier and happier winter where otherwise if I wasn't out running there's definitely no way I would have spent time outside, and we know how good being outdoors is for you.
@Jonny Williams Right on, so like I said in my initial comment the first thing I do with almost every runner I work with is slow them down to help them nail the easy run. This will let you run more frequently, more consistently, feel better, recover better, go longer, etc. I talk a bit about that in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/PgMgbblFsbw/v-deo.html&t
As another guy mentioned, you should consider "zero-drop" (heel and forefoot are same distance from the ground) running shoes and learning how to land on your mid foot to shift stress off your knees and the forces down onto your lower legs and feet (although they need time to adapt to build up the strength too.) A good intermediate shoe which is zero-drop but has some cushioning is Altra Escalante Racer's, they are not full minimalist but they might solve your problems. Minimalist shoes make it much harder to heel strike and easier to learn good form. If you REALLY wanted to get your body to adjust your running form then you could try find somewhere like a track to run barefoot and your body will naturally adjust your form for you. I got videos on both minimalist and zero drop shoes by the way 😉
Man, running straight up breaks the logjams and opens up everything. Dope video. Keep learning and sharing your insight dude! Been in a running hiatus myself and went for a run today. You gave me more inspiration to go again tomorrow.
Hey Nikhil. I hit 225 on bench and 405 deadlift this week! Also am just over 2 months no alcohol. I didn't aim for these because of you (pure coincidence) but it almost feels like I'm competing with you to attain these similar health goals.
I love how you are not really an obsessed nerd with philosophy and stuff and instead you are a multi-dimensional man yourself such as you are exercising well and improving your life physically, mentally and emotionally, financially and spiritually. Props to you dude good job for being consistent on your uploads been following you since 100k subs.
Mad Facts. I've been thinking about running soon. This definitely helped, also the part about going out with friends is so true. I feel like I'd rather stay home but, whenever I go It's great. Needed this video💪👍💯
So true. I just realized this last week. I usually lift weights but I went for a run. At first it was hard because it's been a while but after I warmed up.. it was fine. When I was done, I felt amazing. Definitely need to keep it up.
During lockdown, I started running to get rid of depression. Now I’m training to run 100km ultra marathons. It has helped me to boost my energy levels to new heights and give me a positive outlook in life.
Great video, I used to run everyday and so much more. I was so haply then, fell off of it and wasn't to happy with life. But I've been getting back and my total happiness with life is improving a lot
Hey this is Clinton, just met you at the airport in Virginia!! You’ll see my face again when I start my channel, or when we link up again for a collab!! Best believe!! Stay blessed my man.
I totally agree with that title … running is my least favourite excercise but i do it anyway and that has made such a huge difference in my life … thanks for the amazing and inspiring uploads as usual Cap 👨✈️
Its interesting that people who refuse to do cardio can be obsessed with sculpting a bigger chest or stronger legs but completely neglect how strong their heart is which is achieved through cardio vascular exercise. Having an optimized heart should be our highest priority as your heart is responsible for literally every aspect of all the other avenues of fitness. Congrats on discovering the benefits of running bro!
I really liked this video, such a classic Captain Sinbad style. I related to the feeling of not feeling fulfilled even after achieving a big goal. The perspective is to realize that you are happy while in motion. It is about being excited and enthusiastic about what you are working on that matters.
I don't run but walking defenitely helps me when I feel down/ovethinking about something. The best thing that works me is the removal of distractions as time is our biggest asset
For running and general foot/leg health, slowly transition to barefoot style shoes. That will strengthen your feet and allow it to work correctly. Also work on fixing form. Should be landing on your forefoot. Heel striking in soft, plush, running shoes is the worse thing you can do for longevity. It batters your legs, especially your knees. Your body really doesn't need the "support" that marketers say you do
I have been an on and off runner for the last 15 years.., but have been steady in the gym for the last 20+. In the last 2 years I have run a lot more. Part of that is because I am older.. but I still hit the gym 3 times a week. Great post.. keep up the great work
Thank you very much for this content brother, you made me realise the importance of momentum and action. I want to tell you the concept of "Move like a Human" basically means that humans are meant to move always or often sice the hunter-gatherers age. So, moving more improves your mood more.
I can empathize greatly with the struggles of running with flat feet 😅 It was by far the biggest struggle I had when trying to run a half-marathon distance. Good on you for picking this habit and reaping the benefits!
Man I feel the exact same way about running. I began running as my new years resolution since I had let myself go the past two years due to the pandemic. One day I just scrolled through my Camera Roll and wished I looked like 18 year old me again. I started running to see my lean face appear under the fat I had accumulated. At first I did not like it at all, had to force myself to get out and actually start running. First mile was a 9:57, a huge downgrade from my prime which was a 6:25 (on a highschool track). I quickly grew to love it. Anytime I felt weird or iffy about something, such as my future or something in the past I did not like, I had a desire to go run. Whenever I ran, I felt great again. It was very odd how running could change my mood so quickly, but I appreciate the hell out of it. Around 5 months of consistent running (about 5 times a week), and my best mile time in this part of my life is a 6:40 (not on a track, so probably faster). I've lost a great amount of the fat I once had, and I love how I look now. I look back at my old pictures from when I was a bit chunkier, and It's an enormous difference. Even now while typing this, I feel the desire to go run. For anyone who wants to begin running, do it because it's literally therapy disguised as exercise. It's easily the best thing I have added into my life ever. Also, please stretch before you run. You are not invincible. I learned this the hard way, and I had to wear a knee brace for around 1-2 months. Don't get me wrong I still ran with a hurt knee, but regardless it's necessary to take care of your body if you want the benefits of running.
Holy, you will not believe me! I was just writing down my “goals and intentions” for May and I put running on it. I am in a deep rut too. Doing to run my way out of it.
I have started running again it has been a month now and following are the things I have noticed: Running clears up our mind.. Our brain gets refreshed and our body too.. Skin starts Glowing.. The more limits we push while running we also push our limits in our daily routine.. like studying for extra time than usual or meditating for extra 2-3 minutes.. Also that adrenaline rush after the completion of run gives a different hit 🤤
DUDE! Just used running to get back into fitness as a whole. Just getting up everyday and going for a mile and a half loop. Thats it. Super Fast. Hard to make excuses not to, now im back into it going to the gym and running.
It's always more enjoyable when I do cardio while being stimulated by activities I enjoy...like parkour, or pickleball. Pickleball is my favorite recently, and it gets me sweating and breathing like nothing else does.
This is so accurate. The feelings. The way moving and action is corrolated. I hate running, typical lifter. However its due to the weather and lack of space outside, I find running outside to be much nicer than treadmills too. Treadmills take my soul away lmao. But clearly need to get back on it. Bulk is coming to an end soon. And it'll be a great time to follow through and get moving more.
*Not a super big fan of running on a treadmill but when I do I love putting on some high energy song and pretend I just scored a screamer infront of 100,000 fans in ucl final and running to the corner to celebrate lmaooo it funny but it kinda keeps me motivated. Great vid and message*
Nikhil, once its summer in MN there’s two beautiful places in Bloomington that you should go for a run on a sunny day. Hyland Lake Park Reserve is beautiful, especially in the morning/late morning. My other favorite beautiful place is Normandale Lake Park. I used to run there in the morning all the time. I was addicted. There’s something really special about these two spots. I don’t live in MN anymore, but I still think about both of these places when my mind wonders. But def go when its actually sunny lol. Way to go on your mile time! Running is the best!!!
Have you tried gym classes or group training like HIIT, body pump or body attack? I used to train weights and run, but classes have helped boost my cardio beyond what running did
Fun to follow your journey man. Have you ever tried biking for cardio? I recently got into Zwift over the winter and now that it's finally not as cold out I've been biking to work and back, and I've been having similar results physically and mentally. It also allows you to go faster and farther than running, which is really fun for exploring new places. Back on the topic of running, my fav running route is a nice loop around Lake Nokomis, then afterwards hitting up the archery range nearby there for a bit of meditative skill training. Keep up the good work!
hey you know what this brings me to a realization about progress and stagnation. a lot of times, motivators and youtube inspirators seem to tell us FOCUS. pick one thing and FOCUS LIKE HELL. the problem that i've come across is that i get really depressed when i don't see the results that i want as fast as i would like. and that eats at me. focus is great. but i think diversity becomes important for reasons discussed above. if your efforts, hobbies, projects or whatever are diversified, and one isn't particularly productive for that day or time period, it's really easy to shift energy into one of those other side hustles that also contributes to your goals and ambitions. instead of becoming stagnant, shift gears, focus your energy somewhere else for the day. revisit when youre fresh tomorrow. progress achieved. momentum maintained. to me, the sweet spot seems to be 3-4 main goals or focus points, which you can always shuffle depending on time of day or whatever. i will be experimenting with this and revisiting this comment. let me know what you guys think.
Running is great. Yes, lifting weights will make you stronger and has a lot of benefits, but long runs, tempo runs and sprints do so much for your general fitness and health. It makes no sense to me why some people hate cardiovascular exercise so much. As always great video Captain!
Nice! Running, my drug. A weight lifting friend once said to me after his daily gym session “I don’t do exercise, I just lift weights”. (I do lift but I focus on running/cycling) Calling running “cardio” is a giveaway that perhaps you should adjust your approach. Humans evolved to run, we are literally built to run. It should be the base for all physical activity. The boxing training I have encountered, started with “run till you puke” sessions. I would offer some suggestions: Get some proper running kit and get your feet looked at by an orthotic Dr you might need foot beds. Read “what I talk about when I talk about running” by Murakami. There are great passages on running and meditation. Find your distance, but mix up your training, long short fast slow mix and match Finally don’t listen to music when you run, if you are running outside. You need to hear your environment, the wind, your breathing, nature.
Big fan, I'm a 26 years old Boy andgreat fan of you from Siberia. I have 2 question. 1)Do you have any martial arts background when you're kid. 2)How's Boxing progress. A very very very big fan of yours please answer me, if you are seeing this comment. ..................................................... Lastly I will write a poem for you. With thrust into you, Blew the horizon, boy you can flew. Thou you a picture of Honesty and thunder . Who ever doubted you, That's a blunder. You're a total glory. Tomorrow even God will clap at your story, You not ought to need any diamond ring. Cause, you're already a king. With any regional pace. Nikhil, wish you all the success. And closing with a beautiful bud, All hail CAPTAIN SINBAD
This video is really interesting for me because I'm moving a bit of the opposite direction with my workouts right now. I've been running competitively for almost a decade, but I have only recently started to truly realize the importance of strength/resistance training to keep my form and muscles from breaking down. Over the years I have been plagued with knee injuries from having weak glutes, a weak core, and from overstriding. Now that I have been doing core, glutes, hips, and lifting, I feel stronger and more in control during my runs. My average cadence has increased by almost 10 steps per minute and I can build up my mileage quicker than I could in the past. Strength and endurance training really create a positive feedback loop, and it's important to do both at least a little bit. Also, as someone whose main event is the 1600, seeing you run all-out miles in long sleeves and pants looks so uncomfortable. Just the mental side of being loose and free in shorts takes something like 20 seconds off of a hard mile effort for me lmao.
When you run. Try not to land on your heels instead the sole of your feet. The tippy top area of your feet. Landing on your heels can damage your feet due to the impact with the ground
HIIT 3x/week is the best for this. Less time and more intensity increases bang for your buck. One time a week Low Intensity Steady State (like running) is a nice change of pace to work other energetic systems in the body. At 45, I’ll take a good long walk to preserve joints for sport specific training
I am Bulgarian. We have a Bulgarian World Champion in Chess!!! (in 2005) Veselin Topalov He said that working out and steady state cardio is very important for chess players. In the high levels the matches can be a few hours where you are sitting and have to think very hard which very taxing on your body. So even for chess, working out is important.

Thank you for sharing your experience
Yes... Calgary winters are brutal. It snowed on my birthday once, in August!
Captauin Sinbad I will start jogging around my neighborhood this Tuesday after Ramdan is over
Holy, you will not believe me! I was just writing down my “goals and intentions” for May and I put running on it. I am in a deep rut too. Doing to run my way out of it.
I have started running again it has been a month now and following are the things I have noticed:
Running clears up our mind..
Thankyou Big brother!
as a college distance runner, I am inspired. thank you King
Running does so much and I don't know why. Feels like it lifts me up when I'm down.
love your work man, always inspiring, no matter what keep going!
Cardio is EVERYTHING! All five senses improve immensely with more cardio.
All these things you said in this video, I can relate to!
Ok... Let's try again ....🔥
Running really helps me physically and mentally.
*Not a super big fan of running on a treadmill but when I do I love putting on some high energy song and pretend I just scored a screamer infront of 100,000 fans in ucl final and running to the corner to celebrate lmaooo it funny but it kinda keeps me motivated. Great vid and message*
Pandey Ji,
you do look more handsome, fresh and in shape than before. Keep doing the work.
God bless you!
Thanks for the mention
I'm here Captain!
Running In the cold is the ultimate stress reliever .
That's why I'm leaving Minnesota it's an absolute pain in the ass to stay consistent with training.
I have also started running for the last two weeks, and I feel like I could simply take in more oxygen, and the world feels more... colorful.
Lately, your videos have really helped me find inspiration to get out and “go one more.”
Get it CS
Looking for your podcast, can't find this weeks episode. Very sad. I hope greatness is coming.
Hey Nikhil! This was a great video, humbling and heartfelt please keep going! Your Work is so motivating
hey you know what this brings me to a realization about progress and stagnation. a lot of times, motivators and youtube inspirators seem to tell us FOCUS. pick one thing and FOCUS LIKE HELL. the problem that i've come across is that i get really depressed when i don't see the results that i want as fast as i would like. and that eats at me. focus is great. but i think diversity becomes important for reasons discussed above.
if your efforts, hobbies, projects or whatever are diversified, and one isn't particularly productive for that day or time period, it's really easy to shift energy into one of those other side hustles that also contributes to your goals and ambitions.
instead of becoming stagnant, shift gears, focus your energy somewhere else for the day. revisit when youre fresh tomorrow.
progress achieved. momentum maintained.
to me, the sweet spot seems to be 3-4 main goals or focus points, which you can always shuffle depending on time of day or whatever. i will be experimenting with this and revisiting this comment. let me know what you guys think.
For running I advise as Captain said soft surface to run on, but also comfortable shoes, limit the miles, slow progression and listen to your body.
I’ve been thinking about this lately thank you. I gotta start man
Running is great. Yes, lifting weights will make you stronger and has a lot of benefits, but long runs, tempo runs and sprints do so much for your general fitness and health. It makes no sense to me why some people hate cardiovascular exercise so much. As always great video Captain!
new favourite Notion UA-camr now 😎
Nice! Running, my drug.
A weight lifting friend once said to me after his daily gym session “I don’t do exercise, I just lift weights”. (I do lift but I focus on running/cycling)
Calling running “cardio” is a giveaway that perhaps you should adjust your approach. Humans evolved to run, we are literally built to run. It should be the base for all physical activity. The boxing training I have encountered, started with “run till you puke” sessions.
I would offer some suggestions:
Get some proper running kit and get your feet looked at by an orthotic Dr you might need foot beds.
Read “what I talk about when I talk about running” by Murakami. There are great passages on running and meditation.
Find your distance, but mix up your training, long short fast slow mix and match
Finally don’t listen to music when you run, if you are running outside. You need to hear your environment, the wind, your breathing, nature.
That's so cool man
Big fan, I'm a 26 years old Boy andgreat fan of you from Siberia. I have 2 question.
1)Do you have any martial arts background when you're kid.
2)How's Boxing progress.
A very very very big fan of yours please answer me, if you are seeing this comment.
.....................................................
Lastly I will write a poem for you.
With thrust into you,
Blew the horizon, boy you can flew.
Thou you a picture of Honesty and thunder .
Who ever doubted you, That's a blunder.
You're a total glory.
Tomorrow even God will clap at your story,
You not ought to need any diamond ring.
Cause, you're already a king.
With any regional pace.
Nikhil, wish you all the success.
And closing with a beautiful bud,
All hail CAPTAIN SINBAD
that shot at 4:59 is just so good
This video is really interesting for me because I'm moving a bit of the opposite direction with my workouts right now.
Hi! This was SO helpful, bless you. I haven’t finished the video yet, but if you didn’t, could you please recommend some good running shoes?
Running definitely gets easier everyday, just keep those slow days slow, and fast days fast!
Was waiting for you to mention STEPN as a sponsor of the vid🤠
Running is really a depression killer. My ankle got twisted 2 weeks back while running. Now I'm recovering and I'll get back to it soon.
Hey mate, are you releasing a DMP today? I always enjoy those on Sundays! Thanks
When you run. Try not to land on your heels instead the sole of your feet. The tippy top area of your feet. Landing on your heels can damage your feet due to the impact with the ground
Running + kickboxing + lifting = greatness
Hey Nikhil, I'd suggest you wear over pronation shoes if you have flat feet !!
HIIT 3x/week is the best for this. Less time and more intensity increases bang for your buck. One time a week Low Intensity Steady State (like running) is a nice change of pace to work other energetic systems in the body. At 45, I’ll take a good long walk to preserve joints for sport specific training
Inspirational brother
I am Bulgarian.
We have a Bulgarian World Champion in Chess!!! (in 2005) Veselin Topalov
He said that working out and steady state cardio is very important for chess players.
In the high levels the matches can be a few hours where you are sitting and have to think very hard which very taxing on your body. So even for chess, working out is important.
