I downloaded the demo yesterday and it is great as always Acustica Audio making the best plugins. Core13 helps to cpu a bit, I think you love it too.

How does this compare to Mammoth?

I haven't used Acustica yet, because I couldn't ever get their installer to work. But watching this, the first thing that catches my attention, is that your CPU goes from 4% load to 34% and sometimes spike at 48% in one instance? That's insane. That means you can use 2 of these, and a few more stock plugins and you're maxed out?

Yes this session ran on older Macbook Pro, i7 2.2GHz. Depending on the plugin it can run like from 5 to 10 AA strips. But freeze or commit is your friend. You can always re-tweak it later if needed.

AntiTeatar Music Thanks for clarifying. But I’m not into freezing or unfreezing. I use pro tools but I rarely freeze. That’s why I bought a strong Mac. I like to keep my mix fluid till the end.

@@Miltersen Fair enough. I remember the first years using Kontakt sampler on Mac was a similar experience, lots of CPU issues, spikes dropouts etc. I consider this technology still in its beginnings and I don't mind to offer a small sacrifice in my workflow in order to benefit from the great sound it gives. After all I do the same thing using hardware outboard in order to have everything back in the box.

I got ya. But again, as you use this example by putting it in a buss, if you then change the fader of one of the snares, it won't make a difference if you already froze the bus it's going into with the Acustica on. Not the best workflow IMHO.

Oh I freeze stereo busses regularly during the mixing phase. All but mix bus of course. Once I'm happy with the sound of that group then I freeze and move onto other things. It also makes my edit window less cluttered since I hide individual tracks and leave only frozen bus in the view. Then later in the mix when I decide to re-tweak the details in relation to other changes I've made I bring the individual tracks back and commit again. It is fairly quick. Those are rarely major changes.
