wait! the hell?! so this version has Ramin as Phantom? and the other london production is not Ramin? and no, i’m not talking about the Aussie one. How many versions of LND are there? coz the one I saw here in youtube has a different lyrics and “acting” in Beneath The Moonless Sky💀 Here, Sierra looks almost scared of him when she saw him again, but the one I saw was that, she’s just staring at him as if not believing what she’s seeing💀 and not to mention the lyrics! ITS. ALL. DIFFERENT!🫤😵💫
LOL. Okay, here we go: The original production of Love Never Dies was this one, the London production on the West End. There were understudies but Ramin and Sierra remained the leads in this production. There were MANY changes made to it, so if you’re looking at the bootlegs they’re all going to be different. The lyrics changed, the Phantom’s backstory changed (he faked his death but Christine knew, vs he faked his death and she thought he was dead.) This video is from promotional material, there’s not a proshot of the whole thing. The proshot is of the Australian cast. There was also a German version with Rachel Anne Moore. Then there was the US tour (Rachel was the alternate Christine in the US tour.) For Beneath a Moonless Sky, they used so many different reactions from the actresses playing Christine. If you tell me the name of the actor who played the Phantom I can tell you which production it was!
@@musicaltheatrevideosyoutube thank you for this info!♥️ I actually saw 2 versions of Ramin’s and Sierra’s BAMS. One, she just looked at him when he made his dramatic entrance. the other version I saw is that she actually backed away first when she saw him but hugged him for a while but then backed away again as if realizing what she just did (since i feel like in that version she’s supposed to be angry at him for lying to her?). The title of that video I saw is “Ramin and Sierra Beneath a Moonless Sky” So, is it always like this in broadway/west end? do they usually have a lot of/different versions/storylines in every productions? I’m kinda new to the broadway/west end/musical theater world so im kinda confused. I appreciate your reply🫶
@@heyzeereey You’re welcome!♥️ I’ve seen those versions too!! I’m not sure what changes were made at the time, but they changed Christine’s reaction to the Phantom a lot. Sierra and Ramin also made certain decisions. So I think it definitely varies with how much per production, but rewrites are very common. For Broadway, they have Broadway tryouts before the show is actually moved to Broadway (if it is) and they often make changes after that. The Little Mermaid preview that was in Denver is on UA-cam and there are a lot of changes from that to the original. The Phantom of the Opera also had a ton of changes made. They did a workshop with Colm Wilkinson that’s still available on UA-cam (it’s in the document my) and he wore a full metal mask. I myself don’t know the exact process of getting a show on Broadway, but changes definitely happen for each show! You’ll even see differences in the same production with the West End vs Broadway cast.
Songs are “Beneath a Moonless Sky” & “Once Upon Another Time”
Is the complete proshot available to watch somewhere?
Unfortunately no :( This was filmed for press. Only the Australian cast proshot is available.
