    The high bar is one of the most exciting apparatuses on the men's side.
    Gymnasts release and regrasp a steel bar that is 1.1 inches in diameter, 94 inches long and 109 inches above the ground,
    performing some of the most mind-blowing tricks in-between.
    In this video, we'll take a look at the 2 most difficult high bar releases in the Code of Points: the Bretschneider and the Miyachi.

    Gymnastics is extremely difficult, but these two elements over bar??? Unreal!!! I am totally mind-blown and sent to a parallel universe by seeing this skills and can't even imagine how this is possible.

    Finally, we have Men!!!. I think there are only three people in the world that had performed Bretschneider (Himself, Uchimura, and Miyachi). It is extremely difficult. Miyachi (the first I-rated element) is absolutely jaw-dropping. Only two gymnasts could perform this element so far (the other one is a gymnast from Netherland). I feel Miyachi is the ceiling of high bar, and I sincerely doubt people would have harder skills than this -- there just isn't much room for additional twists or roll unless you release and throw yourself in the air five feet above the bar.

      Bretschneider wanted to perform the Miyachi at the 2016 Olympics but was not able to perform it successfully. He did perform it successfully in training though just not in competition

    Although I mainly watch women's gymnastics, I occasionally watch men's gymnastics and I have a huge respect for the skills they do. The nagornyy(sorry if it's spelled wrong) was already insane for me but the miyachi takes the cake. I wish men's gymnastics was highlighted more in media since they really work hard and the skills they do are no joke

      Uneven bars used to basically be the parallel bars but set to different heights so that’s just how the uneven bars evolved, and you can see they’re still the same material as the pbars

      Maybe the low bar prevents the gymnast getting enough power up on the swing?

      The mo salto...

    • @feverspell
      @feverspell 2 роки тому +9

      The low bar is too close to the high bar for them to whip around fast enough to generate the height needed to do it. The only way I could see it happening would be if the gymnast was incredibly petite and thin, like under 5'0 tall and less than 100 lbs. Someone whose legs already wouldn't hit the low bar on the downswing and who is light enough to generate enough speed. Even Simone Biles, who is physically quite strong, I don't think could do it.
      Male gymnasts are built differently. That's not saying they're better, just different, and MAG reflects these differences.

    • @Funkynutblast444
      @Funkynutblast444 2 роки тому +11

      To add to what the person above me said: from what I’ve noticed (not being a gymnast myself but knowing a lot about the sport as a spectator), both high bar and uneven bar workers need a lot of momentum. Usually the best bar workers in WAG are tall and slender (look at Svetlana khorkina 5’5, Nina Derwael 5’7, Aliyah Mustafina and Nastia Liukin are a bit shorter at 5’3 but on the tall side for gymnasts etc etc). That body type helps them succeed on the bars because they can use their long legs to get a ton of momentum and their bodies are more aerodynamic. Just think about how Simone biles, the greatest gymnast of our time, has never claimed to love bars. Shes just not built for bars because she’s short and muscular, which means she can’t get super fast or fly super high. However, the low bar is a big hindrance in them ever doing anything similar to these. If you watch the men, they stretch their body out as long as they can and swing super hard to generate momentum, while most if not all women mentioned above have to bend their legs to avoid hitting the low bar. The lack of the full body extension and ability to swing fully would never allow them to get nearly as fast as these men get, which means they can’t get as high. (Take a shot every time I say momentum lmao)

    • @brianlau7827
      @brianlau7827 2 роки тому +6

      In my experience having swung on both types of the bars, the steel bar MAG uses is lot of more ‘giving’ than the wooden bars WAG uses. Having the bar be able to bend more gives momentum to generate height and amplitude to throw yourself over the bar.
