Fun Fact: The main antagonist of Disney’s Dinosaur was originally going to be a T.rex. But they changed it to a Carnotaurus, because Carnotaurus was lesser known at the time. That’s probably also the reason why the Carnotaurus in the movie was bigger than the actual animal was.
This is why Sharptooth's considered to be the best antagonist in any LBT movie considering that he appeared in the first movie. Add to the fact that he was responsible for the death of Littlefoot's mom makes him even more iconic and unforgettable. No other Sharpteeth can top him. Not even Chomper's parents or Red Claw.

Easily the most terrifying Sharptooth in the series. The way he moves and acts from how they animated him, his bloodshot meth head eyes, the way he roars, how he is hardest to kill since he survived a fight with little foot’s mother then falling from like a 100 foot drop, and the fact that he actually killed somebody, especially a main character
To make this Sharptooth even more terrifying, in the novelization, this Sharptooth didn’t want to kill the kids for food, he wanted to kill them for pleasure.
I always thought the sharpteeth from the 2nd, 3rd and 5th films are equally scary as the first. I lay the fact the sharptooth of the original first film took out Littlefoots Mother down to her own experience. It clear in the sequel movies Grandpa Longneck has more experience fighting sharpteeth. You can tell as he stand his ground and he does not turn his back on a sharptooth in any of his battles. Littlefoots Mother turned her back on the sharptooth after a few snacks of her tail but under estimated the sharptooth. Grandpa Longneck seems to know how hard they can be to beat. So I give some of the sequel sharpteeth equal amount of fear and power as this one. Grandpa longneck holds off well but he does get pushed around a bit by some of the sharpteeth in battle

However, Even though Welker voiced Sharptooth in '88 TLBT, his role as Sharptooth was uncredited, its so that he doesn’t get overshadowed, because, you know, he’s a well-known celebrity.
I ADORE the way that the Sharptooth is portrayed in this movie. He's not vengeful, insane or inexplicably bloodthirsty. Insane, he's just an animal trying to feed itself. That what makes him so compelling. He's less of an entity, and more like a force of nature. Also, I find it great how his run-in with the kids aren't the result of him hunting them down specifically, but rather, most of those meetings seem to be a coinidence
Reason for that lays in this Don first wanted not to give dinosaurs dialogs beacuse he wanted to make this film accurate to dinosaurs, but their main target for watching were children, so he put added voice actors, as well for sharptooth, but was later decided to make sharptooth voice-less to make him more terrifying

Sharptooth Was One Of The Most Terrifying And Scariest Dinosaurs In Any Movie. He Was Responsible For Causing The Death Of Littlefoot's Mother And No Wonder Why, He Is More Iconic And Unforgettable Than Any Sharptooth. Dude, I Just Wished We Got More Of This Guy.
Sharptooth is known as a Tyrannosaurus Rex, I often feel unnerved when I saw him, since he got hit in the face by thorns, thus, hurting his right eye, but it wasn’t damaged is several shots when he opened it, Sharptooth is a very powerful and athletic T-Rex, we don’t know how big he is, but he is almost the size of a full-grown Apatosaurus, he was even very durable, where he did not die from falling to a fissure, he was smart enough to hold a grudge to the children, if that wasn’t unnerving enough for me, he was able to jump on an Apatosaurus, I also felt slightly unnerved when Petrie tried to get Sharptooth blind as he grabbed on Sharptooth's sore eye, and by closing his good eye. 😬
0:01 Little foot and Cera We’re playing in a watering hole surrounded by dead trees. Neither of them are paying attention to the sharptooth working nearby. You will meet him as he comes around The corner of your screen 0:03 Where There When now 0:06
Therefore, take an example, Tyrannosaurus Rex, it does appear in The Land Before Time films, but it appeared a lot in The Land Before Time TV Series, thanks to Chomper playing a larger role, since he’s a young T-Rex, Red Claw is a Tyrannosaurus Rex too and he appears in the TV Series, I thought he was a Daspletosaurus, but I learned he wasn’t.
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 You mean. Not all Sharpteeth have to be antagonistic? And not every antagonist has to be evil, antagonists can also be animals who hunt or attack protagonists or prey.
I’m betting that we were hoping that if other dinosaurs couldn’t defeat Sharptooth, we figured that Mother Nature would do the job. During the Great Earth-Shake, Sharptooth fell into the chasm and we thought he had died like all the other dinosaurs that unfortunately had fell and perished. But the T-Rex’s great endurance enabled him to not only impossibly survive but he got up with no signs of broken bones and other injury. The only thing that did finish him off was having him plummeted into the water with a boulder, shoved by the kids, onto his body which was too heavy for him to get it off and he drowned.
In My Opinion, I Consider *Sharptooth🦖* As One Of *Don Bluth's Most Evil Villains,* Along With *Jenner🐀🗡 From The Secret Of NIMH* And *Rasputin😈💚 From Anastasia.*
I feel like they should've had one more scene with the sharptooth in the middle of the film to fully say that this sharptooth is out in the wilderness with them. At least them hiding from it for a few seconds, it wouldn't have to be a chase scene.
::gets knocked into a rock:: "to vent my frustration that is now physically visible, i am going to head butt and ram this rock i landed on into gravel, this action will hurt me and send my already boiling over temper into the damn stratosphere. This is a logical line of reasoning, and i shall hear no argument against my actions."- Sharptooth.
Sharptooth is more than that in the movie No official size has been stated yet but he was same size as little foots mother, wich make this guy somewhat near 60 feet or 18 meters in lenght, larger than standard size of Tyrannosaurus, but what's really scary about this trex asside of its size, even compared to the other members of his species, this particular Tyrannosaurus is incredibly strong, agile, ferocous, lethal and dangerous, he is durable enough to survive even some potentionaly dangerous falls that would kill most creatures, he is capable of smashing trough rocks and stones with his OWN head, he is capable of jumping high enough to land directly on to sauropods back, and he is smart enough to hold a grudge, when he was chasing littlefoot he accidently caused a thorn to damage or go into his eye, that incident made him mad enough to track the gang trough the movie, also if that isn't enough he is fully capable to fight a fully grown apatosaurus by himself
Another terrifying fact about this t rex is thar he doesn't just kill dinosaurs just for food, he's also a sadist. He kills dinosaurs for only for the evil pleasure it brings him. That's why he's the most feared of all the dinosaurs, plant eaters and meat eaters alike. His goal is to reach to the great valley so he will destroy every dinosaur until the land becomes a graveyard.
In fact, I remember when I simply referred to Sharptooth as “Tyrannosaurus Rex”, therefore, hence what animal it is, reflecting the fact that Sharptooth was simply named as the name of his own species by the art of production, despite the fact that he is called Sharptooth, named after the term of carnivorous animals in The Land Before Time. 3:07 I even referred to it as ‘T-Rex’, another mirroring of production art, when during my reaction to the clip of Sharptooth's return, I was like, “OH NO! THE T-REX IS BACK!” LOL.
I looking for this sharptooth, and, after so many years, I started to think this Dino is old psycho. Look at his movements. Look at his "face". See, how fearless he is. There is human mind, spoiled with age, rage and hunger. That's why he scary. He will do his best to kill you or at least make you suffer. He will not stop. Merciless, fearless, blind, villainous fury.
I think other Sharptooths in the franchise are intelligent, they just don't bother learning how to communicate with their food. This guy doesn't just want food though, he actually likes to kill
The geological scenery of this movie reminds me of the Deccan Traps in India. That part of the world had tons of volcanoes and earthquakes right around the time the asteroid hit Mexico. Wonder if that’s where these dinosaurs were living or if that inspired the artists.
I actually like the design of this t.rex. This film did a good job telling kids that T.rexes aren't goofy cartoon characters but vicious predators that actually existed long ago.
Sharptooth is no normal Trex. First of all, this beast can jump high. Second, it’s capable of surviving the nastiest falls. It can take down a brontosaurus. And it also has the strongest skull in existence.
And to top that up he was lot bigger than normal trex Normal size of trex is 13 meters in lenght. This guy was 18 meters, like 5 times bigger than normal trex, now obviously that's not official size but he was same size as little foots mother, also to top he is capable of defeating fully grown apatosaurus and maybe even sub adult or teen argentinosaurus
If Sharptooth had been given a voice, here's who I would've recommended, 1.) Keith David using his Spawn voice. 2.) Hugo Weaving, the guy who voiced Megatron in the movies.
I actually Littlefoot and his mother were Alamosaurus instead of Apatosaurus because Alamosaurus was one of the few sauropods that lived in the Croteacus period particularly as Sharptooth is clearly a T Rex while Cera, Ducky and Petrie were a triceratops, parasaurolophus, pteranodon respectively who also lived in that time period although there is anachronism with Spike being a Stegosaurus as they lived in the Jurassic Peroid
It was indeed comfirmed that littlefoot, as well as his mother and grandparents are brontosauruses, but land before time was made in that time when dinosaurs weren't the thing and was known little, even tough they are being researched, same went to disneys fantasia, rite of spring to be correct when the trex appeard was mistaken as allosaurus beacuse he had 3 fingers, but it is trex indeed, beacuse walt wanted to make it more terrifying, plus it wasn't yet discovered then abt trex actually having 2 fingers
This dinosaur had really scared me, and it also is definitely the most scariest character from Land Before Time

Also, I find it great how his run-in with the kids aren't the result of him hunting them down specifically, but rather, most of those meetings seem to be a coinidence

For some of the roars anyways
Reason for that lays in this

Sharptooth Was One Of The Most Terrifying And Scariest Dinosaurs In Any Movie. He Was Responsible For Causing The Death Of Littlefoot's Mother And No Wonder Why, He Is More Iconic And Unforgettable Than Any Sharptooth. Dude, I Just Wished We Got More Of This Guy.
I love the original one beacause he is absolute beast and absolute meancing dinosaurus ever
Sharptooth killed littlefoot's poor mother!
1988 sharptooth was super dangerous and my favourite form of sharptooth and my mother's favourite
Legend.
Weren't they originally going to show him biting Littlefoot's mother? They changed it to only being in shadow because it was so terrifying
Sharptooths durability aside, Littlefoot's mother was an absolute boss!
An 8 ton predator going up against a 30 ton saurapod. Could it get any more intense?

Sharptooth is way more bigger than his irl counterpart so meaning he’s probably 54 or more tons

Sharptooth is the first Tyrannosaurus Rex to appear in The Land Before Time.
Wdym there's a bunch of Tyrannosaurus rexs
Therefore, take an example, Tyrannosaurus Rex, it does appear in The Land Before Time films, but it appeared a lot in The Land Before Time TV Series, thanks to Chomper playing a larger role, since he’s a young T-Rex, Red Claw is a Tyrannosaurus Rex too and he appears in the TV Series, I thought he was a Daspletosaurus, but I learned he wasn’t.
@@thejoker15678
Yeah and Chomper and his parents proved not all Sharpteeth are evil.
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 You mean. Not all Sharpteeth have to be antagonistic? And not every antagonist has to be evil, antagonists can also be animals who hunt or attack protagonists or prey.
I would always wonder why Sharptooth’s shadow was that huge from 0:01 to 0:10
From a child’s perspective, the shadow of a larger monster is massive and terrifying.
This Sharptooth was the most menacing of all sharptooths 1:01, 1:07, 1:22, 1:26, 3:03, 3:08, 3:12, 3:41, 3:57, 4:12, 4:15, 4:22

I feel like they should've had one more scene with the sharptooth in the middle of the film to fully say that this sharptooth is out in the wilderness with them. At least them hiding from it for a few seconds, it wouldn't have to be a chase scene.

@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 Same
Sharptooth is more than that in the movie
No official size has been stated yet but he was same size as little foots mother, wich make this guy somewhat near 60 feet or 18 meters in lenght, larger than standard size of Tyrannosaurus, but what's really scary about this trex asside of its size, even compared to the other members of his species, this particular Tyrannosaurus is incredibly strong, agile, ferocous, lethal and dangerous, he is durable enough to survive even some potentionaly dangerous falls that would kill most creatures, he is capable of smashing trough rocks and stones with his OWN head, he is capable of jumping high enough to land directly on to sauropods back, and he is smart enough to hold a grudge, when he was chasing littlefoot he accidently caused a thorn to damage or go into his eye, that incident made him mad enough to track the gang trough the movie, also if that isn't enough he is fully capable to fight a fully grown apatosaurus by himself
3:06 I don't remember the running on the rocks part
In fact, I remember when I simply referred to Sharptooth as “Tyrannosaurus Rex”, therefore, hence what animal it is, reflecting the fact that Sharptooth was simply named as the name of his own species by the art of production, despite the fact that he is called Sharptooth, named after the term of carnivorous animals in The Land Before Time.
3:07 I even referred to it as ‘T-Rex’, another mirroring of production art, when during my reaction to the clip of Sharptooth's return, I was like, “OH NO! THE T-REX IS BACK!” LOL.
I like how the T-Rex jumps. 1:07

Even though I haven't seem this movie, Sharptooth is legitimately terrifying
Why is sharptooth's right eye close
Those thorns must have stabbed his right eye out.
His right eye got injured, but it wasn't actually blinded. You can see he does open it from time to time after the incident with the thorns.
The geological scenery of this movie reminds me of the Deccan Traps in India. That part of the world had tons of volcanoes and earthquakes right around the time the asteroid hit Mexico. Wonder if that’s where these dinosaurs were living or if that inspired the artists.
3:13 is he saying death or doubt? Since I was a very very small child I have always thought I heard him saying doubt or death.... As a command.

What if the original Sharptooth isn’t a T. rex but rather a unknown species of tyrannosaurus
An alpha T.rex?
My naitmer of sharptooth
4:30 Littlefoot: "You shouldn't have killed my mum and squished my tree star!"
I actually like the design of this t.rex. This film did a good job telling kids that T.rexes aren't goofy cartoon characters but vicious predators that actually existed long ago.

(In Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic, Phlegmatic)
Cera, it's called "poking the dragon" for a reason
Yep! Poke the dragon, you’re gonna get burned or even eaten.
Sharptooth is no normal Trex. First of all, this beast can jump high. Second, it’s capable of surviving the nastiest falls. It can take down a brontosaurus. And it also has the strongest skull in existence.
And to top that up he was lot bigger than normal trex
Normal size of trex is 13 meters in lenght. This guy was 18 meters, like 5 times bigger than normal trex, now obviously that's not official size but he was same size as little foots mother, also to top he is capable of defeating fully grown apatosaurus and maybe even sub adult or teen argentinosaurus
If Sharptooth had been given a voice, here's who I would've recommended,
1.) Keith David using his Spawn voice.
Godzilla 1998
It was indeed comfirmed that littlefoot, as well as his mother and grandparents are brontosauruses, but land before time was made in that time when dinosaurs weren't the thing and was known little, even tough they are being researched, same went to disneys fantasia, rite of spring to be correct when the trex appeard was mistaken as allosaurus beacuse he had 3 fingers, but it is trex indeed, beacuse walt wanted to make it more terrifying, plus it wasn't yet discovered then abt trex actually having 2 fingers
But in the land before time universe trexs, allosaurus, spinos, and gigas live in the same period
I get why it was necessary but Littlefoot’s mom’s death still makes me sad and angry to this day
Even though Sharptooth is suppose to be Dark Green but he changes color(grey, black and brown)
The land before time is a HORROR MOVIE!
