As I read the comments I hear a lot of interesting solutions to the big hole problem. But, you guys know what you are doing, and you used what you had available to you. So sorry it was a dead end. Keep swinging. We love you guys
Great video you two!! Those were some nice pieces to found. It always stinks to dig a hole for nothing but that’s how it goes. New subscriber and can’t wait to see more.
Greetings from CANADA . We had huge boulders is the fields and my dad built a gig fire on them and when they hot rely hot he through cold water on them and they all cracked into much smaller chunks . sure must have ben a hart braker after all that hard work .
Well that was a bummer but that’s why you dig every target could have been a large nugget for sure glad you found a couple others 👍🏻 thx for sharing hate the flys I was sadly unprepared once and after all day of being in them I could still hear them buzzing when I closed my eyes to go to sleep and they were long gone great vid thx for sharing
Yes, dig everything no matter how hard, eventually it'll pay off. The flies make it hard to concentrate on the detector. The fly veil annoys some people more than the flies - not us.
It looked like Sphalerite to me, a type of Tin ore, but I don't see anyone really passing up a signal that strong if they have tools to get to it...a lot of work so a real shame it was a duffer.
Could have been a good find if you look back about 15 years in the gold and gem mag over 400 ounces came out of a couple of holes like that over two seasons that had to be burnt every night for a few weeks Cheers Bruce
Digging through a quartz vein is extremely difficult when you only have basic tools. We couldn't find that article unfortunately. Thanks for watching, Bruce!
guys...you have the right mallet....BUT....you NEED an estwing geologist pick(or comparable)......hold the handle, pound the head with mallet until the pick grabs into the matrix...then you can swing like a baseball bat....plow right thru that rock youre on in minutes...not hours.....
Goodness all that work just to build more mussel and the desire to chase the next beep... That why they call it hunting or prospecting, NOT always finding or getting... At least you found something just not what y'all were looking for.... I just had to join your sup group seeing you go to any lengths to find a target that shows your true drive too get the gold... You kids keep having fun together looking for your treasure, well one could say y'all have already found your treasure you found each other... Be blessed in Jesus name... BBE...
Very bad idea having a dog out there - there will be nothing you can do if he takes a poison bait. Some station people will shoot any dog they see. Leave you dogs at home.
That would have made our job a lot easier! Unfortunately the digging of holes is restricted to hand tools only, any power operated tools are not allowed ⛏

Flies, flies, and more flies. Yikes. Thank God for the gold.
this should have more Views .
Nice looking nuggets!

The fire softened the rocks a bit but it was still hard work for nothing... BUT you've got to dig them all to find out...

A hammer drill and masonry bit would make short work of that rock.
Are those steel-toecap boots you’re wearing ?
Lots of interference for the detector !
It's called a fiberglass toecap. totally metal free boots 🥾
great for kicking rocks out of the way, not so good for walking 15 kilometers...
Have you tried Sawyer's insect repellent? Ticks and mosquitos plus chiggars eat us alive,it works better than any other !
Haven't tried that one James, we'll look it up 👍
Dam lot of hard work for nothing but tomorrow might make up for it.Love you two great Videos 🥰👍👍
There's always tomorrow Bill. The big one is only a swing away 🍀⛏

ouch ! flies & dry holes, what do the bugs eat when your not there ?
They wait for us to arrive 🤨
Sierra blaster would help
If only we were allowed...
Did you test those sulphides to see if it was not platinum?
We showed a friend who agreed it was probably just sulphides. We still have a sample and might get it tested in the future 👍🏻

@@OutbackGoldFever no need to tell me about em😎 good luck.
Try mouthwash in a spray bottle. Our pansy UK flies can't be near the stuff ...
Might try that to keep them out of our mouth's 👍🏻
get some dexpand, drill it, pore it, go to sleep, return and to find the rock in smaller chunks, you already made the hole.
Thanks for your advice! Is drilling a hole with a powered drill considered legal (hand tools only)?

Yes, we've got the gold fever - it's even more contagious than covid 😬
For situations like that need impact hammer drill and micro blaster air assist
or excavator 😂
@@OutbackGoldFever Or what a bout a good old fashioned fire cracker. Things were so much simpler then. 🤣💣😬
Do the flies go after your sweat or blood? Oh that was a heart breaker the sulfide find. But that other nugget was worth it. Great videos.
The flies hound you for the sweat and line up like pigs at a feed trough around your blood!
tip use a 6ft fencing bar it break that up in no time
I'll look into that, thanks!
That looks a bit like a platinum based metal.
We should carry some testing gear to properly identify these minerals Steven.
@@OutbackGoldFever Maybe.... ya. Good idea. I actually never thought of that. Lol
Hi think it was some sort of rare earth mineral maybe the stuff NASA looks for did you keep it .
Sure was a lot of hours on that quartz hole for nothing. Good decision to move, for sure.
We'll put that one down as experience, better prepared next time we dig into the quartz 👍⛏⛏⛏⛏
Wait a minute. We didn't actually see you find nothing after digging HARD for 3 days. 🤣🤣🤣....... The secrets of the rich and famous! 🥴

@@OutbackGoldFever That is one of the most heartbreaking No Gold stories I've ever heard. It must have been YUKKK! 🇭🇲🤗
wow a lot of time wasted but you’ll never know unless you dig i would still use my cordless hammer drill catch me if you can 😷

The bush is our home and we're aware of those horrible baits. Would be disgraceful to shoot a dog at the camp that wears a collar.
You cannot use a battery operated impact drill just to punch some holes in it?
