LOVE THIS SERIES! I actually refunded the game after an hour because i hated it, but for some reason this series has become my favourite of yours. As always youre a wonderful cinematographer and entertainer and creator :) Love from a Canadian serviceman
Me too, right when it was first available and I think they gave us a couple of weeks, maybe a month, to refund. However, it is a LOT different now than then. That said, I love watching Tem playing it because he is a class entertainer and I will watch anything he plays just for that.
Great series, but operations are currently only available on the prometheus map. The next big update, called "hypatia" is split into two parts and mostly for bringing the operations to the other two maps (styx first, then on the second part olympus). Otherwise some tipps: - you could harvest ur crops with a sicle, to get even more harvest from them. And ur corps need to be replanted some times eventually, because they get a debuff on the harvest everytime you harvest them. - the scoria and clay things have a symbol in the tech tree at their top right corner I think. This symbol means, that they are prometheus content and I'am not sure, if you can get the stuff you need to make them on your current map. Also the same with the cold steel things. - just fyi, titanium and platinum have a bad ratio on converting into bars. 5 ores give only one bar. so be careful how to use those precious materials. - best way to get a lot of steel is, to wait until the tier 4 tech tree and crafting a electric mining drill and a water wheel. Then put the wheel to ur house, because you need to empty it sometimes and make a cable all the way along towards a deep mining deposit of iron. Wait a few days with the drill upon the deposit and have fun with the iron. (I think considering use of iron and copper in the tech 4 things, you should have 2 drills for copper and 2 drills for iron. One drill for Gold, Sulfur, Coal, Aluminium and Silicium are more than enough for the needs of one person and you should be good to go.) Have a lot of fun and please consider to go into an open world on prometheus, because I would really like to see you play through the storyline. Looking forward to see more of Icarus and 7days. Have a good one. :D
Might wanna consider making shutters if your stuff near windows gets broken by the storm. We've seen shutters on that one house you were in during that sortie "mission" or whatever its called when you got the fancy bow.
The missions for open world are not available for Olympus yet. They are starting to add them to Styx next Friday. You might want to set up shop there as well. You can always come back here.
pro tip: the bears have a very short turning radius. you can kite them towards you, then do a quick dash past them. Best way I have found to take down 1v1 with bears
The predators are a compounding problem if you leave carcasses around they attract more predators there is a deterrent idol/build you can unlock to help elevate the constant onslaught tho ❤
My wife and i have this game and we used to play it together a lot. Watching this series has given me the itch to play it again. Awesome content man. Looking forward to another video
animal feed is cheap, efficient, and fills them up quite well, also gives them a buff. you make it in your inventory, it's next to the seed bar. i love this game and having a great time watching you go through the struggles i dealt with when i started. great content, keep it rolling!
Love the base updates! When you came back with the new twins the door was open which may have been what destroyed the masonry bench? Anything near an open door during a storm will take damage. I left mine open during a really bad storm and lost a bunch of storage (ouch!), Thankfully the contents usually stays in bags. Keep up the series, it's great!
Hi mate, watched some of your stuff when you ran around with Jawoodle (tell him he's a muppet if you hear from him 😁) Really enjoying your Icarus content, very fun to watch 🙂 have played over 2,500 hours since beta myself. Might be worth putting some leather coverings or wooden shutters on your windows to protect your workbenches and I don't think the wooden railings degrade from being outside (not the internal ones) One tip, wooden poles are your friends and are awesome tools to always have on you, you can use them to climb, make defensive walls in an emergency, make a diagonal ramp to use for getting a view of your surroundings and a good trick is to stack 4+ high diagonally with a cross piece at the top to use as a sniper stand (make sure you squat / crouch at the top so as not to fall off and for extra stealth damage)
I learned early on to build a small elevated platform accessed by ladder to cheese defense missions. Also, when I went on distance hunting or mining missions I would build small way station cabins with a bed/spawn point in case I had a bad run.
I absolutely love the fact that he forgot to command buffalos NOT to follow him while they were juveniles and now they are following him through literally "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" :D :D
The other day, you didn't have a video up, and so I tried to watch an Icarus video on another channel. It didn't work out. I'm glad you're still doing this series. Your channel is part of my morning routine for the past couple of months.
Just so you know, buffalo are food to all the predators. They were trying to hard to eat mine, even after I built him a pen they were somehow glitching inside of it to attack him and he refused to defend himself. I had to completely enclose him with stone pillars in a 'square with an X in the center' type of pattern to keep them out, and they STILL occasionally would come up and try to chew through the stone.
no problem! Still running through your series, but if you never found out here's another tip for you! You can craft beacons so you can mark up your miners and such ;)@@GunsNerdsandSteel
This looks great. I played a lot on launch and I'm now considering going back now that there is this persistent base world with missions to do. At launch it was all drop in, do a mission, leave.
Good to see a nice steady playthrough of this game because even though I stuck with it, it was a pain to get into. Really confusing and alot of dying at first and had to rely on youtube videos which puts people off.
Hi there! You should be able to dodge bear attacks by side stepping when they get near you and run a few steps towards the direction they are coming from. They will run right past you. (at least they did the last time I played) Then you can turn around and pop em a couple times and rinse and repeat till they die.
Heyo. You should try and always stay buffed from food. Stringy cooked meat also does give u +5% xp gain and Cooked bacon gives you +15%. You can stack 3 food buffs at a time with no drawbacks.
You should try to invest into the Thumper. When activated, you have to battle small and medium worms, but when finished, it respawns the ore nodes in the range it's projecting.
OK, this game looks amazing. If I pick this one up it's because of this series. Love all the things you can make in this game, bison cart! And yes, those are bison.
tip I have learned while fighting bears is jump past them as the go to jump at you it is a timing thing, also I know you did not like the way they look but drying racks are great for food buffs early game and you can salt them to last a long time. Ex. can have Prime meat, reg. meat and berries or something. You can have three food buffs active at a time(unless you get the talents for an additional slot) the jams a great can be a little resource heavy early on.
Weat and any seed can be used to make animal seed but if you farm a bunch of corn it might not be worth the trouble. Also, consider unlocking the cave scanner, if you don't want to spend a tonne of iron and silica on glass it might be worth making wooden windows to batten down the hatches in storms.
21:25 You might be able to put those fancy wood half walls all the way across there instead! Following the top of the roof there and lining up with the stone pillars you already have might look really nice and give it more of a "tucked away loft" sorta feel without looking like a totally separate room. I feel like the aesthetics of the outside are nice overall but outside it's very... Stony and flat. That might be what's throwing you off a bit because design wise it looks fairly nice where you've gotten it but it seems like you're just stuck with that unless you want to spend all day fixing wood stuff unfortunately.
I also discovered the hard way that you can set your stone base on fire if you decide to try using wood trim for aesthetic purposes and it is too close to your wall torches. LOL
This is a solid series. It also really reminded me how much I'd like to see you do a Valheim series in the future. I think it would go over well. Hint :)
should not have killed the second bison, you will need one to ride while the other transport your ore, rocks and other finds. the other types of mounts are too fast and you will have to slow down to transport what you find.
I should try that on my girlfriend. "We dont need no sticking babies around here" **grabs compoundbow** "Did you make another baby, or is that one of the neighbours? Doesnt matter, lets just put it out of its missery" **grabs spear**
i think your basically in free play mode so you cant do the other missions, also you can find iron, coal nodes out in the world they look like holes in the ground and you can put excavators on them.
I don't know how dfuck this man "only" have 138k subs, this man is such a great content creator, keep going man, your work is one of the best in the youtube, the internet is super luck to have you
Yep, the series would probably benefit a lot if he restarted on styx. Being on the Olympus map is stopping him getting exotics, orbital gear and unlocking blueprints from operations. The update to add operations on styx is out next week....thats enough time to get back to this point with stone buildings and such. And once the exotics start coming in there is plenty of equipment to increase running speed, stamina and encumbrance.
@@demon0453 For sure, there is no way to mine them....but you can earn them from operation rewards I believe? Olympus open world has no way to earn any exotics.
Please feel free to continue calling them bison, doesn't bother me you are using the correct term. Also, when you said he doesn't have a mama I immediately grew attached and was going to be mad at you if something happened to them.

I came here to tell you what people already have; use a sickle and get more from your crops!

I recommend using the hedgehogs when you're on missions to defend rather than around the base

You should try to invest into the Thumper. When activated, you have to battle small and medium worms, but when finished, it respawns the ore nodes in the range it's projecting.
You need wooden spikes around the outer edge of your compound so predators aren't getting so close.
You should use wood to fire the furnace. It's easy to get and you get charcoal as a byproduct for the gunpowder
Great editing. Love these videos!
Really great series! Please don’t stop!
Can't wait for you to start doing the bosses
Time to get into biofuel. Make the drill and find a deep node. Usually iron deep mining nodes are in the back of the big caves.
OK, this game looks amazing. If I pick this one up it's because of this series. Love all the things you can make in this game, bison cart! And yes, those are bison.
Headcannon: Kirikaze is a horse possessed by a Khornate Berserker, every day calling out for more blood for the blood god.
Deep mining rigs are the way to go, if you can find an iron and a coal node, you'll be set! You'll need biofuel composter and batteries to power them.
Loving this series. When I see a new episode, I am happy.
He is the only reason I bought the game
tip I have learned while fighting bears is jump past them as the go to jump at you it is a timing thing, also I know you did not like the way they look but drying racks are great for food buffs early game and you can salt them to last a long time. Awe man it's over already :( We need 1hr episodes Tem!!!!!
we don't need babies around here. snipes the baby horse in head from the second flood. that was dark lol
Hey, Tem. Lovely as usual. As for steel, you may do it either from iron ore or iron ingots, if I'm not mistaken
You can use your sickle to harvest your crops for increase yield.
Put windows on the base make them out of wood or enforced windows so your benches Don't break regular windows are cheap
Poor Kiri, he got yelled at for eating
I really like this series. I hope you get some good views on it so you can continue the series.
Operations are only available on Prometheus sadly. Gonna need to start over on that map, wouldn’t take long with all the levels you got already
critter food: corn works. but rhubarb and soybeans also have some health.
use the sickle on your crops to get more product when you harvest.
The reason the forge wouldn't place before was because the exhaust needs to be attached to a window
GGs and thanks for the episode!

The gable piece is part of the normal roofing piece

Oh and window shutters will stop benches from damage via open windows.
make window shutters it will help

I think the ostrich mount is faster than the horse.
Great editing
This is a solid series. It also really reminded me how much I'd like to see you do a Valheim series in the future. I think it would go over well. Hint :)
use sicle for harvesting for bigger yields
Open windows let the storm come in and destroy whatever is close to it. Put shutters.
The lake cave had a lot of iron.
I don't the game but in real life, even one avocado can kill a horse. It is quite poisonous for animals. An important warning!
Corn stacks higher but the bigger foods like watermelon and pumpkin give more food with each unit :)
If wild life is getting annoying there are Deterrents you can make to keep them away.
should not have killed the second bison, you will need one to ride while the other transport your ore, rocks and other finds. the other types of mounts are too fast and you will have to slow down to transport what you find.

Is a barn and corral options?
That base of yours is murder central.
Leaving corpses around the place tends to attract more predators.

keep it up , I like you content :)
