    Well Bry, I’ve done 2 rides based on your videos. Both were adapted to both the company I had with me, the time available & my personal cycling ability. Those 2 rides last year were: riding a portion of the Eerie Canal & riding a decent portion of the Pine Creek Trail. I very much appreciate the advice you gave in forming these rides! Keep inspiring others to just keep “spinning.”

    I just found your channel and have been bingeing your videos. Love them. I am semi-retired (just retired from the military) and I have gone from road biking to a hybrid on trails, and now I have a bikepacking trip planned for the C&O to GAP in September. It's all part of my retirement plan, LOL. The party pace, so to speak. Slow and easy, see the sights, instead of go-go-go. Your adventures are inspiring. Hope to see you on the trails.

      Ah, I love it: party pace. Yeah, that’s the answer. Congrats on retirement. I’ve had a blast so far. No regrets. Enjoy your September adventure. Great trails!

    My question is: Are you planning to do any cross country rides? I would love to watch you ride from Astoria back home or even the east coast trail from Maine to Florida. You could bring us with you through the whole planning and putting it all together to the actual ride - that would be epic! Of course it would be tons of work on your part - but, man, I would settle down for months and watch! Love your videos, Bryan, no matter where you ride!!

      Yeah, I really want to build up to that. My goal this summer is to get in a month-long tour on the bike and yeah, the ECG is a possibility. Thanks for watching, Amy.

    Thanks Bryan... ah yes, the green screen blues.
    You just described the elements of an adventure. Nothing is certain, not even the adventure, until you get started... then the adventure begins... but nothing is certain.
    Next up... Making lemonade out of a bogus adventure. Like heading north when everything goes south...😅

      My teleprompter went haywire…just couldn’t get it to function.
      Exactly on the definition of adventure. I’ve been trying to put together a video on why that uncertainty and experience is so important to round out our lives. Hard to put into words.

    Happy New Year I hope you can still continue Riding around Delaware my outdoor riding has come to a standstill here in Snowy Iowa . We just got 10 inches of wet heavy Snow Tuesday and now we are getting more tonight . The Weather reports say that we could get 10 more inches Friday . I guess it’s back to my Stationary Bike in the Basement so at least I can watch your Videos while I am riding along with other Biking Videos that at least makes the indoor riding a lot less boring for sure ! Have a good Winter and hope you can do more riding and Video before and into the Glorious Spring Riding Season . Happy Biking !!!!

      Always love to hear that--that was my original intention in creating this channel. I, too, get bored on the trainer! :) Winter has been fairly mild here. No snow yet. Just a lot of rain and temps in the 30s. Yeah, I've been watching weather reports from Iowa. Wow. Stay safe. Spring will be here before we know it! (positive thinking)

      Happy new year! Lol…I met a cyclist/tourer who rode across the US with one lodging strategy: he would walk into a motel at 9pm, slap a $20 on the counter and wait. He said (this was in the 80s) he was successful about 75% of the time. 😂
      Yeah, man…go bag that Pine Creek Trail. It’s calling out to you….

      You raised another big issue: how to plan/ride with others. I've been working on a video about that. it's long overdue. I think it was one of the first questions someone brought to my attention. And I've learned the hard way. :) I like all of the trails you mentioned and have done none yet. I was just reading yesterday about the Elroy-Sparta (that's in WI, right?). So many trails...........bike on, man. Stay safe.

      Thanks, Ken. Yeah, that’s a real mystery sometimes. Overnight parking is tough. Sometimes it’s easier to use a rental. That’s what I did for the Florida coast to coast. AVIS to Titusville, then AMTRAK back home.

    • @Ev3_6

      This is my biggest question/concern. How are people parking for these bikepacking trips??

    • @RideAlongAdventures
      @RideAlongAdventures  7 місяців тому

      @@Ev3_6 it is a huge question. In my experience is the black hole of bike trips. I JUST looked into a trip and could not find a place on either end of a trail to park. I generally resort to rental cars because of this. But your point is well taken. No easy answers.

    We stop at every historical plaque. 1 mile from my house is one that I've never seen. It detailed a settlement on the Grand River near my home from the 1700's next to an old mansion that was reportedly instrumental in boating escaping slaves to Canada. There is also a marker on our beach detailing La Salle portaging up the Grand River from Lake Erie. Samuel Huntington Jr, adopted son of signer of Declaration of Independence, had a home further down the river. He was unfortunately killed there in a freak road accident. He had an accomplished life including being the 3rd Governor of Ohio.
    Case Western Reserve has him as Jr, but if I’m not mistaken, the Western Reserve Historical Society has him as Samuel E. Nevertheless he lived here in a remarkable life. Sorry I got carried away, but how do you not check out the historical markers?

    • @RideAlongAdventures
      @RideAlongAdventures  7 місяців тому +1

      I saw a funny little video about how we only starting reading plaques around age 50. 😂 I enjoy them a lot, mostly because of the proximity to the events. But, to your point, I’ve run at a nearby park for almost 20 years and only read the plaque there about two weeks ago.
