I just got a Joy and I have to laugh. I did not remove the protective screen, so my card went all over the place, lol.
I then found your video and it all made sense! Thank you for a detailed video that was easy to understand. Back to card making now haha.
I looked up this video because this happened to me! Now my protective cover is cut at the top haha! i thought it was so straight forward lol
Hahaha same. I was so shocked 😂
I also did not realize that there was a protective film. But now both my protective film and the adhesive part of the Card Mat are cut into by my blade. Is it normal for the adhesive part to get cut out? If so, how long is it supposed to last if it keeps getting cut up?
Literally just did this 😂
haha same!
Great, simple tutorial. Thanks!
You explained this sooooooomuch better than the actual Cricut UA-cam tutorial. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I have subscribed to your channel and yes! liked it too. Thank you so much. I'll be looking at more of your videos for help with this machine. Hopefully you have videos on the other machines. I'm new to the Explorer too.
Thank you so much for this. Best video I have found to get me started using the Circuit Joy.
You rocked this one. Thank you, thank you. 🎉
I just got a little cricut joy as a gift from a good and amazing friend of mine. I just wanted to thank you for doing this amazing video I will be purchasing the mat plus the card stuff. You made it supper simple to make cards and for that thank you so much. And for my first card I will be making this one. Thanks a bunch. You are amazing. I just subscribed. I have to watch more videos of this cutie pie Cricut joy. 🥰
You are so welcome!
@@LorrieNunemaker wanted to give you an update I made my first card to my amazing friend. Your explanation made it so simple. Thank you so much your amazing.
Thanks again as always Lorrie! You are the best at explaining how to use the matierals that Cricut puts out. I cant wait to make my 1st card! Have a great day!
Thank you Lorrie you make things so easy to understand.
I just received a joy for Christmas. I love it!!! Thank you, this tutorial is very helpful. Now, I just need to get some more accessories :)
I also was wondering why my card kept on messing up, but it was because I didn't make sure the card was secure! thank you for this video! I finally got it on the 3rd try
Thank you. I don't know how I didn't notice the protective cover and wasted a card before I watched your video.
Just did exactly the same 😂
Great Tutorial.. THANK you.. Please do more with the JOY.
I think that is just awesome!!! One of my favorite features of the Cricut Joy! Thank you for showing how easy it is to do. I wish I could get this cute little thing :) Hugs...Janie
So helpful!! I love your videos
I love the insert cards. I found a few for my Maker in DS, but most are Joy-specific!
Was getting annoyed cause I felt my card making wasn’t working, watched this and it made sense cause I forgot to peel the shiny piece off the card mat, whoops. Thanks!
I can’t wait to get one! Thank you Lorrie.
Thanks for the video! I'm new to Cricut and want to make cards. What size pen do I need to make a card like the one you made?
I agree this is great now I might enjoy making cards, can you also write with the pens inside the cards , ...................
Yes. Just like all of the cricuts that have the pen writing and drawing feature. You go to the design space and click txt and type in the txt box what you want it to write then set it to write it and not cut it.
Dang I wish I had seen your video first....When I went to make my first card I didn't see there was a clear mat and took the label off assuming the instructions were referring to that and now I cut up my protective cover Arrrg :/
I'll be tuning in with you from now on Thank you!!
I can't wait to get Joy!!
What can you do with the cricut joy besides cards?
I have Cricut Access but it doesn,t come up like your. Do i need to buy the yearly access.
This is one of the things I’m most excited about. Cause I totally stink at card making!🙄
Karen Runge i love do it but I’m not very fast
Are you able to make a 5X7 card with this?
Do you have a video on making cards the different sizes?
_ -
Can you add text to the card, for instance, Happy Birthday on the front?
I cannot change my card size on my card insert,
I'm having a problem with the Cricut joy cutting the image to high on the card mat. I had my machine replaced and the new one is also cutting high. I noticed the tandiem bike card you made looked like it too was cut a bit high. Do you know if there is a fix for this?
I can find where to buy the card holder!
ahhhh I forgot to remove the cover plastic so it wasn't sticky
Just got one I can make things but idk what to do next sos 🆘
Does anyone know if you can use this mat in the maker?
What joy pen do you need when writing on a blue card
There are tons of pens. I bought the 3 pack of black at JoAnns yesterday for $8.99. But you could use glitter or metallic or any color you want. I always test the pens first gonna scrap of the color I'm about to use to make sure the pen is writing and that it shows up well. I think the black or a dark blue would work well if your using a lighter or medium blue and if ur using a dark blue paper I would use white. But that's just me. You can use any color but the neutrals show up alot better than the glitters and lighter colors. I'd only use those on like a white paper you cut as a txt box.
Is this for card making only??
Sandra Burgess no, not at all. You can also cut iron on, vinyl, and a number of other materials
I use all of my cricuts for scrapbooking. I was never into card making until my curiosity peaked with the new mat and joy machine. I mainly use my machines to cut out letters and shapes that i scrapbook with and for the writing function so i cak journal on my pages and not worry about my handwriting! It does alot more than just cards but the card mat is only available for the joy as of now. I'm sure theyll make it in a 6x12 and 12x12 mat for the other machines bc the feedback is going to be overwhelming for it.
Can you draw your own images? I think children would love that.
Fran Apple yes
I think this mat could / should be made for the other machines. I don’t plan on buying the Joy because I’ve only had my Explore for 3 months. I won’t be watching any Joy videos in the future.
Dee Ann Poole I can see where Cricut is doing this to make more money because they r in business to make money, but I’m like u, I’ve not had my explore air 2 long enough nor use it enough to spend over 200 dollars for more Cricut products. I’ll watch videos only to see if they come out with a reason that I say will justify me buying one but I really doubt it.
Dee Ann Poole the larger machines don’t need this mat. You can cut the card flat.
Lorrie Nunemaker ok. Thank you. I haven’t watched any videos on it.
Dee Ann Poole ok
How do you get the corner cut outs when you’re creating your own card design?
unfortantely the software on my new joy does not match this tutorial so it is not helpful
Design Space is always updating. This video was made when the Joy first came out. The basic features and instructions are still the same
#ifeeljoy
I wish I had watched this tutorial first! I ruined two card inserts and the plastic covering to the mat!
Don't worry I did the same thing!!
Same with me!! It’s too bad it doesn’t have better instructions. Thank goodness for this video! And I bought it on sale but dang I didn’t want to wreck an brand new card mat
Not worth the money.
With coupons and discounts, it feels nicer for the money. If the card packs seem expensive you can use your own envelopes & card stocks on hand, to cut to the size specifications of the pack. I brought one card pack for a sample and then cut my own cards there after, using all those heavier 12x 12 sheets., I have around with unused sheets. Don’t be afraid to do budget friendly for coordinating your papers. Mine came out beautifully. You can dress up with embellishments,or leave it nice and simple for good budgeting. Happy crafting!
