Today we check out the awesome Austrian Audio CC8 Small Diaphragm Condenser mic. I was truly surprised at what they accomplished with this small but powerful mic! It backs a deadly accurate punch that gives an honest, flat tone no matter how aggressive the source may be!

NOTE - The blind test has an ERROR where I clearly have the volume set improperly starting at the crunch tone. I'm so sorry for this, this is unusual for me, but will double check next time around. If you're curious, please go check Produce Like a Pro's video for the proper levels (I didn't accidentally touch the fader on this version of the clip)

I really appreciate all the content you put out. Thanks too you I own an sm7b and a few sm57s. I know most people prefer the re20 in your comments but my voice is high pitched and filled with sibilance so the sm7b worked perfectly.. I initially bought it and sold months ago before I had a decent enough pre amp but now I'm loving it.
Edit* i also now have a re20 because of you and the guy you had in your podcast episode.
Its all overkill for my music and voice over needs but i also have a u87 so i passed that line way back. I just love building up the locker and enjoy music.

What do you suggest to me now? To buy CC8 stereo pair? I don't know where they make C451 now, I guess China... Thank you! Cheers! :)

Hi maybe you are able to breakdown how to get guitar tone/mix from
The artist / band = Depapepe
With their song = one, katana, or start?
I tried many ways to mic-ing and mixing my guitar but never sounds close to them. Ended up being too presence-aggressive on upper mid-treble or just being muffled... Also already tried several different guitar picks.
    I use rode NT2-A.
I literally everyday try to find this kind of genre mixing tutorial on internet but never find one, because nobody play guitar like them...
    I'm so desperate now TT

  • @stefanweilhartner4415
    @stefanweilhartner4415 2 роки тому +1

my take on the boosts in the higher frequencies is a mechanical resonance on the membrane and the capsule.
    my guess:
    * the 15kHz resonance is a wave running from one side of the membrane to the other side and back.
    * the 5kHz resonance is from the membrane to the end of the capsule or a mounting point of the outer microphone case and back.
of course that is just a guess. but it interesting that this can be seen in many different microphones.
this maybe could be removed digitally much better than analog,
(best would be to do that at a high sampling frequency like 192kHz, where you can use a delayed signal by the wave length and substract it with a certain small factor. practically you do the same like the resonance does but substract it instead of adding)
