@@kreeves344 No, literally not at all. Most parrot birds (Conures, Ringnecks, African Greys, and Macaws) will come back to their people if they're outside.
@@unholyheretik do you think that's because they see their owners as a source of safety and food since the ability to protect and provide for themselves has been taken away from them when they are young, or do they really want human companionship? Interesting.
These videos make me wish I could convince my in-laws to send their sulphur crested cockatoo, Angie, to a rescue. They rescued her from neighbors who abused her years ago, but she needs to be in a home with people who will give her all the attention she needs. She’s constantly stressed, plucking her feathers, she hates the Dad, poor girl needs a better home. The Mom knows she’s not happy, but is terrified whoever she gives Angie to will abuse her. She loves Angie and cannot imagine giving her up. I think she needs to see more videos like this, show her what happy birds looks like in proper birdie homes. I’ll show her your channel and hopefully it’ll convince her ❤️.
Oof, that's not a conversation that I'd want to have to tackle - convincing your in-laws that they can't take proper care of their pet, and should give it up - good luck with that, lol. :-)
You'd probably have more success using this channel to educate your in-laws as to what changes they could make to the bird's environment that would improve its quality of life. No matter justified it is, or how gently you try and break it to your MIL that she can't provide the home the bird needs, she's gonna take it badly. Probably as a negative reflection on her, maybe even an insult. That's not gonna make her receptive to your advice. People get incredibly defensive about their relationships with their pets. Even when there's a glaringly obvious fault on the part of the owner (which is the true cause of 99% of 'problem pets') getting the owner to recognise that the problem lies with THEIR behaviour, and not the pet's, is the key battle which most of these animal whisperer types have to win to solve the problem. If your MIL loves the bird as much as you say, surely she'd be willing to make some improvements to the bird's life, which stop short of giving it up? That MIGHT be the ideal solution for the bird (even with the added stress of relocation), but it's hardly ideal for your MIL, which makes it less likely to be achievable.
I loved seeing him eat and be so happy. Also his eyes pinning was so amazing to see! He is such a cute and sweet bird! Has he ever seen another bird before? I would love to see what he does when he meets cressie.

I'm already in love with Bean.💖 There is just a sweet soul in there. My dream bird is a Grey... and I hope to adopt... so watching you work through these issues is great.
I have one just like yours. Atlas is scared of everything. For example, if we get him a new stand, I have to take my sweater and allow him to be on it. I put him on the stand with the sweater and in a few days, he is off the sweater and biting the wood and playing. Whatever to make him comfortable, that's how they work when they are scared. Great job!
J Chacon you should definitely try desensitizing your bird. I’m sure there’s video on UA-cam on how to do so. It’ll help your bird be more confident in itself. And it’s just generally a good idea.

Our Eccie is kind of the same way.... Her breeder wasn't the best and she was terrified of everything when I met her two years ago. She's much better now and we've bonded enough that now when she is scared of something, I can typically show her it's fine just by interacting with it myself. She'll forget she's scared of anything if I somehow involve it with me eating, but really it's all about controlling the environment. I hope Mr. Bean Bob Sponge Butt does well! He already seems to love you which looks like it's making him more eager!

@@unholyheretik do you think that's because they see their owners as a source of safety and food since the ability to protect and provide for themselves has been taken away from them when they are young, or do they really want human companionship? Interesting.
@@kreeves344 a captive born bird is different from a wild born bird. It's like a dog that follows you at the hip. They see you as family.
@@coal9205 that is both interesting and comforting to know. Thanks. Is it like a baby chicken or duck that imprints on a human after being hatched?
Bean was adorable when he put his head down for scritches when you offered birdy bread😍
It’s so heartwarming that when you pet him he just melts. Like touch is what he needed.
Prayers for success for you with this difficult task. 🙏💜🙏
Let us know how it goes, education goes a long way. Good luck!
Well if shes letting her be lonely and depressed and not giving her attention then it doesnt sound like she loves her
He is so pretty. So glad your patient with him
I loved seeing him eat and be so happy. Also his eyes pinning was so amazing to see! He is such a cute and sweet bird! Has he ever seen another bird before? I would love to see what he does when he meets cressie.
His owner said its been a really long time since he has been around other birds. So far he doesn't react to the noises he hears of mine (they're outside) but time will tell.
Omgoodness, you are such a very kind woman! I’m glad for people like you to love and nurture these sweet birds. Thank you!
Bean is like this food testing i like.
I’m not a lover of birds but I hate to see any animal in distress, you’re doing amazing work with him, he’s very sweet.
Bean trusted you so quickly!!! I feel so sorry for him being so scared, but look how he accepted some new challenges today!!! You certainly have a gift!!!
He’s so very trusting of you. Kindness works with all creatures. 👍🏻
Bean, is so cute! I love how he puffed up when he got on the stand. It almost looked like he was proud of himself. ☺️
Wow, I do not have birds but the way you worked with him is amazing and the fact you refused to be a fear crutch. I never thought of it that way but that's 10000% it! I hope Bean is doing okay.
What a lucky birdie to have you now in his life. He seems so sweet and hopefully he will eventually become a calm and happy bird, which I’m sure he will be with you as his “teacher”. You are an amazing “bird whisperer “ 🥰.
this lady has such a soothing voice
His name suits his personality, love ya bean, and love ya birdticks
Poor baby; he’s not led a secure life until he met this caregiver; everything is scary for him. Lots of luck, and bless you for working with him….at HIS pace.
7:08 look at that messy beak! 🥰 Bean is so precious❤️
You have the patience of a saint! God bless you for working with this beautiful creature.
As a bird owner, I love watching the progress with the birds ( I've also bought many of the toys on your website. My birds love them)
Thanks so much!
I always cry when it involves animals, they are so independent from us.❤️
u r so good at training birds ive been watching you for ages now and I'm amazed
The best things about your content is I learn so much and never need to own a captive bird. I never will add to the suffering and I can watch you perform miracles. Respect and love
I'm already in love with Bean.💖 There is just a sweet soul in there. My dream bird is a Grey... and I hope to adopt... so watching you work through these issues is great.
So sweet! What a lucky little bird! Thank goodness he found his guardian angel!
Poor lil thing. Never know what these animals go thru. I'm so happy hes with you. Yiu seem so patient and gentle. Hang n there are 🙏🙏🙏❤
I have one just like yours.
"He's fine, he's just terrified of everything."
Bean is so beautiful 😍 great rewards getting him to trust you... ❤ 😀 your making really great progress w him.. African Grey's love being Social, love attention n they have a great disposition! They're sweet as can be once he warms up to you... He'll b part of the family in no time
This is EXACTLY my Grey's reaction to wooden perches. I can't wait to see how you handle this so I can help mine.
Iv watched this for less than 5 minutes, I know nothing about African greys. But I know that he trusts you and feels safe holing onto you. Bless you for having him, your obvious love and patience.
birds a paid actor
lol!
Poor baby. But what a beauty
Awe poor Beanie! I'm absolutely in love with this little man, he's going to be so extra wonderful once you teach him not everything is potentially bad... He's just such a lovely little goober!!! 💙
His previous owner said that he like music. I was really surprised that you didn't use some music.
“Can I have my sweater back” bean, “uhhh nope” he’ll be amazing and will look great with the babies
You're amazing and so patient! Thank you for taking care of this beautiful Mr. Bean.
I am so impressed with the patience you have shown this beautiful bird. I loved how you included him by giving him bits of vegi's as you were making yourself lunch and by the way you kept right on talking to him in a soft voice. I'm glad there are people like you in the world who have been blessed and gifted to care for these animals. I won't say 'good luck' to you because I think you already have the situation under control. I look forward to your videos. Take care (and give Bean a little scratch on his back for me. LOL)
Hi, JamieLeigh! It is so wonderful to see the progress you made with Bean today! This is so wonderful!!! I'm so sorry about your friend being diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. I will pray for your friend daily. You are so good with nervous birds!!! You are a natural bird whisperer, JamieLeigh!!! Love, big hugs, birdie kisses. Barb, Beenie, Baby spirit :)))
My heart! He's so sweet
How is Bean doing? Sweet boy. He melted my heart.
Good luck!! Bean is so cute, I’m so glad that he is being treated with such patience and kindness even though you are only fostering him. Usually foster parents aren’t ever as educated, dedicated, or gentle as you. You’re an amazing person, god bless you
You read his needs and anxiety and acted appropriately. He felt heard. That is so profound for any animal who is scared. Then you were rewarded with a pat. So sweet. He is a doll. 🥰
