I understand his response but still, he’s been out of the lime light for years and all this time the franchise keeps being successful. My point is that he couldve been in 5,6,7,8, or 9. He couldve made a cameo in 7 at Race Wars with Hector. It’s weird that Edwin and Leon never returned, Leon was the driver of the yellow R33 Skyline in 1.
They wanted him in the franchise at that time because he was hot in rap at that time. The moment he fell off in rap they would have dropped him too and he wouldn’t have been in all 10 movies. That’s what he was saying basically. His career and obligations as a rapper came first at that time.

Even though Bow Wow is nowhere near the super child/teen star he used the be back when he appeared in the 3rd movie, at least there was no black cloud over his head like Ja would inherit so bringing Twinkie back in a minor / cameo role couldn't hurt.

You do realize they were also caught up in a federal criminal indictment around that period and were literally fighting for their freedom right? To the extent that they were "tainted" it was by the feds not by 50. The feds killed murder inc records. 50 just took the credit for it.

John Singleton said that he offered Ja Rule 1 million to be in 2 Fast 2 Furious. And that Ja Rule wouldn't return his calls. Ja Rule says it was 500k and he spoke to John. Somebody is lying.

That’s a short term here and now way of looking at it. He could have done the movie made residuals and been in a bunch of the other movies making more money than before plus residuals from those plus opportunities to be in other films. Sometimes you have to consider making less now to make MUCH more later. Nobody is looking to pay Ja Rule a bunch of money for a show these days.

But no 1 would've thought Fast Furious would go to 7 different movies after. He made the right choice. It wasn't short term. Movies and How well they will do is a gamble in itself. And it's not like number 3 did good and Ja Rule wouldn't even be in the following 2 films. he made that same 5mil in less than halfway through his tour and the time it would've took to film fast2
He didn't just have one album though lol, he put out another and another and another just kept smashing it every year with multi platinum albums and singles and touring making 10s of millions each year. His music made him more money than any films could've. Plus he owns the masters to his music which still pay him to this day. And let's not forget Ja was under contract with a record label, he didn't have time to waste doing movies for small money to possibly eventually get bigger roles. He had to do music first.

They were canceling his tours because of low ticket sales. Since the pandemic, his music has made a resurgence, but you make it seem as if he was a back to back #1 selling artist. He's done aight. There are not very many rappers who have remained relevant and hot over the years. Those films would've helped tremendously, imo. What does owning your masters do when Spotify pays you 1/2 of a cent? He isn't a streaming killer, and he isn't burning up iTunes and other places where people buy music.
