@@sajjadhusain4146 Hello friend! I understand that the Waverly is supposed to write at any angle- would you tell me what your thoughts are on this nib? I’m afraid that I don’t really get it?
@@KitchenCounterCrafts Hi, again! Well, the highlight of the WA nib is that it is an especially forgiving nib, i.e. it writes at any angle without a issue. That is a useful attribute in a nib even for disciplined writers like myself who always have an adept grip. And who don’t inadvertently constantly rotate their writing angle or have other quirky habits that guarantees an annoying experience with many other nibs. But more importantly, I find the Waverly nib to be especially very smooth and very pleasurable to use - even more than the other smooth Pilot nibs. The only thing is that I find the nib to write finer than I had expected. A few others have said the same. Mike Matteson did a top review on his channel of all the 15 Pilot nibs not very long ago.
@@sajjadhusain4146 thank you for sharing your experience! I realized my faint rotation with the Lamy 200, but the pilot vanishing point totally helped with keeping a straight grip because of the clip! I found that the Waverly was more like a Fine nib (bordering on Extra Fine). That was surprising as well but makes sense for it to achieve great writing on different angles. My calligraphy habits don’t encourage the steep, high angles as you need to keep the pointed pen at the “correct “ 45 degree angle for achieving the thick and thin lines. I was once inclined towards (get it?😆) getting this nib but I don’t think I’ll be getting it now!
Great video! It’s definitely going to help some folks figure out their sweet spot. My Pilot Custom 823 and 743 have been an awesome duo. The Stub has my eye!
@@trevorgerland2254 Thanks so much for watching! You can’t go wrong with the lovely 823! I would think that your 743 with the FA is a joy to write with! I agree with you on that Stub nibble! I’m thinking about getting a Vanishing Point with a Stub. Since you like EF (like me), what are your thoughts on the PO nib?
@@KitchenCounterCrafts I love my FA nib with Diamine Autumn Oak. I need to get the nib tuned tho. There is the smallest hang up on my upward stroke, otherwise can be my daily writer or help with making my bold lettering in my journal. The Vanishing Point Stub is a MUST. So much fun to have a click and go, relatively thin, stub on hand. Also some great feedback with the VP stub that I enjoy. I have Pilot Blue in that, but thinking of switching to Dromgoole’s Exclusive Diamine Bleu Horse. As for the PO, not my cup of tea. The most broad I’ll go is Twsbi Vac Mini 1.1 Stub. Also, the FA pushed to the limit is more than enough for me. I think an Architect or a custom offset italic would be a fun jump on the future. I just got the Sailor Pro Gear “Autumn Sky” M/F and have been loving the 21k nib. Smaller than my 823 #6 nib and a bit stiffer than anticipated, but I am enjoying the pencil like feedback with light and firm pressure. I’m basically sold on wanting a Pro Gear King of Pen for a larger barrel diameter. The Pro Gear Standard I have is almost unusable for me unposted and I like the idea of a larger diameter grip point.
@@trevorgerland2254 I just realized that you’re the one who’s been penabling me on the Vanishing Points! 😂 No wonder you love the Stub VP. I’m hoping to get one for Christmas 🎄 That Dromgoole exclusive ink is gorgeous!!! I might have to break down and get it. I’ve been trying to control myself on inks- it’s not working. I wrote with the architect nib at the Pen Show and it’s great for writing… like an architect! I feel like I’m limited to all caps with it!😁 Your Pro Gear sounds amazing! Congratulations!
Which was your favourite? I recently got a soft medium ch91, i think i might prefer the regular medium over it as the regular #5 has good enough spring for me
@@0xss I’m a sucker for anything that has a little give! I loved the SF and SFM. I tend to write smaller so F is my usual go-to nib. However, for pretty, flourishing writing, you cannot beat that FA nib! I have a full video on my 823 with a FA and my Namiki Falcon. So yummy! I don’t have a CH 91/92/912, but I would love to get one. Thank you for sharing about the #5 nib. Do you have any other Pilot pens/nibs?

@@ganainmmtl that’s a great question! I have the smaller nib size in the Namiki falcon and the #15 FA in the 823. It’s actually a big difference! Don’t get me wrong, both write like a dream but the 823 has a great feed and ink capacity that can make the whole writing experience feel better. It’s not something I had thought about when I had my Namiki falcon. It’s super smooth, satisfying bounce and an excellent writer. Then, you have the larger pen, larger feed, larger nib of the 823. In this case, larger is better! The side cuts on the #15 nib give better line variation (still not a true flex) and allows the nib to get the ink needed for the swirls and flourishes of writing. What are your thoughts?
@@sushanart they were! The smaller nibs suit my writing style better, plus I use cheap copy paper, so the shimmer/sheen doesn’t show up or matter. The soft nibs were really smooth and nice What do you use your pens for mostly?
Ordinary notes for shopping or things I need to do etc. I want to start a writing journal for practicing my handwriting but haven't decided on what kind of paper or notebook to get yet. 😊
@@sushanart just start with a $1 composition book! That’s what I use. Walmart and Target have some good ones that don’t show bleed thru as much (most are made in Vietnam- fairly decent paper).
I love that Pilot brings an example of all their nib offerings for everyone to sample. Looks like you had fun sampling them all! Thanks for sharing.
@@stephenE4017 I had a great time!!!😍
My most favored Pilot nibs are the FM, M, SM, Falcon and WA.
The 912 is a special pen in offering all 15 of the different Pilot nibs
