This was her first song on her first album after idol she was advised not to do this song because it talks about Jesus but she went with her Faith and beliefs and it hit number one with God all things are possible Amen 🙏 🙏
Not the reason, she was advised not to release it as her first single. Country radio didn't want Carrie have it period, Idol winner shouldn't release this song and her label said go ahead and do it. And fans took it from there. Country radio was so pissed, that fans demand they play it. Radio was given a simple choice, play it or lose listeners. They couldn't afford at the time, Carrie came out to lose listeners, so they play it.
This song was playing on the radio when my wife got into a car accident with my three month old son in the backseat. The back glass shattered into the backseat my son was in the rear facing car seat. Somehow he did not have a scratch on him.

Thanks for reminding me of the year. I never heard her sing a whole song on that show (channel surfing), but during a performance I called my son into the room and said, "I don't know if this girl is going to win, but she will definitely have a career". That was a judgement made literally in seconds.

I've heard this song thousands of times. I'm in the middle of some health and financial concerns and while I've spent time praying about it, this time this song really got me. I needed this. There is a reason God has me binging your videos. He knew.

My goodness. The song hits me in the face hard. Her voice is divine... When I first heard “Jesus Takes The Wheel” I wept for nearly roughly months. I could not stop. My personal experience, I was born prematurely at 32 weeks and suffered from a major head bleed... At 18 months I had my first Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) Shut. And 27 head surgeries I no longer have to have the shunt (November 27th of 2009)

Knew someone who tried it for real, without actually being out-of-control. They wrecked. They lived but not without long - term complications.
It's a metaphor.... How? Tell in a time in which it's acceptable to give up trying to make the best out of a hopeless situation.... If your child has stage 20 cancer and there is a surgery with a 1/9999999 chance of success.... Do you just day "Fuck it. I won't even try. I'll just pray, instead?
Carrie has already explained that. Don't do that in real life. It is just a song. As Carrie said it is a very good song, but that is all it is. Nothing more.

Brad it’s more about letting go and moving forward. I’m not religious but some people find hope in religion and not everyone just relays on prayers. Some actually pray AND do something about

When I was 6 my mom and I got in a flip over car accident, we were driving home from the beach and the front passenger tire blew out and the car started spinning, we got to the side of the expressway and started rolling, my moms hand went out the window and the car was rolling on her hand and she wasn’t wearing her seatbelt, the car landed on its roof and people pulled over and yanked on doors to get the doors open and one finally opened, they got us out, my mom didn’t have a single broken bone and just had a bloody knee, I didn’t have a single scratch or bruise, my mom said Jesus was in the car with us that night.

This song came out during the most God awful time in my life! Years with anxiety, the death of my sister, losing our ranch and my animals but the frightening part was me thinking of suicide and I held my arms out to Jesus begging Him for help! He took the wheel, gave me the strength to keep going and never give my granddaughters a reason to be proud, not filled with sorrow!

The part with the older couple always brings tears to my eyes. If you didn’t quite notice, that part started with the wife (seemingly) having Dementia or Alzheimer’s. The sadness in the husband’s eyes ... gets me every time.

THIS one gets me.. my ex bf whom I was BLESSED enough to have stayed very close with, sadly passed away at the age of 23, because he hit black ice. PJ's car actually flipped and landed on his neighbor's lawn ! He was NOT drinking ! His father heard the crash and went outside to see what happened... He immediately recognized his son's car.. shook his head and walked back into their home and waited for the police. He died, I believe 2 1/2 years later. 😢😢😭💔

This song was written by a friend of mine who was inspired by an incident that broke our local community's collective heart. A very well known, well loved and well respected local musician was on his way home in a snow storm, and a plow/sanding truck wasn't paying the most attention to what he was doing. The local musician hit a patch of salt, spun out and ended up flying off the road and into the ocean. It's a beautifully heartbreaking song that has an even more insanely heartbreaking backstory.
