Awesome heads up on the cheap sway bar option. And even better with the losi rear trailing arms. Love that you guys try stuff and share with the community. Keep up the great work and videos and the people will come.
I used a metal sway bar for my ryft similar to this but it kept coming out at the sides. After experimenting with different shock placements I found that attaching the rear shocks to the rear axle housing lowered the vehicle as well as made it more stable. Plus I added ~100g of lead weight in the fuel box so that the wheels bite the ground and there is better power transfer. This removed the sway problem for me. Hope this helps you. Thanks for sharing & keep RCing. Cheers!
You know I started to mount my shocks to the rear housing when I first got mine but I was afraid to add extra stress on the housing since people were snapping them already so I decided to not do it. I thought it seemed like it would be a good angle on the shock to help out the twist though. Good to know it works. So far the sway bar has been great for me. Reefsrc was surprised to see I made their sway bar arms fit the ryft when I had it up at axialfest a couple wknds ago!
Awesome! It helped mine quite a bit. Made a huge difference. The ear plugs in the rear diff combined with this sway bar completely eliminated my torque twist! If you’re running the stock shocks you may need a bit longer rod ends for the links that come with it also. Let me know how it turns out.
Awesome! It works well. We installed the complete amazon bar on my buddies. We did have to use some longer rod ends on the adjustable links because with his stock shocks it would invert on him sometimes. So you may need longer rod ends or adjust them out a good bit. We also ended up grinding a flat spot on his bar going across to clamp down onto with the main arms. Mine hasn’t slipped and needed it but his came loose once so we put a flat spot in it so the grub screw catches a bit better.
I ordered the vitavon axle housings and they should be here early next wk. As I install those I can definitely go over the ear plug mod! It’s very simple though really. I just used a bit more than half of the earplug and crammed it in the diff. Almost locks it without actually locking it lol
@@2fmrc Sounds simple enough. It almost sounds like a poor mans LSD 😁👌🏼👏🏼 I’m on board for that! Do you still plan to run the lockers or is the ear plug working out better than anticipated.
@@tunesms1239 I’m going to be testing it pretty well today hopefully. It works great on flat ground and around home. My buddy did his after seeing mine and his center started slipping really bad and he had to lock it. I think I’m going to see how mine does and I may just do the ear plugs in the center and front. I have the lockers if I need them but so far I really like how the rear is doing with the silicone ear plugs
Those are the losi Baja Rey trailing arms. Holding up well so far. They are a tiny bit longer so I backed my top link ends off just a bit to clock the rear axle back in place. My buddy just put his on and ran with them. Both are doing well so far! 1/10 scale? If so I’d probably go with the Redcat Everest 10 or Ridgerock for that price. If it were me I’d save a bit more and get the losi nightcrawler at $299. I’m going to be posting an update on my in a bit actually and it’s a very impressive rig for the price!
Hey Matt, Mark here I have a question for ya, my scx24 jeep the tires started jiggling back and forth and then the steering tires went real loose for a second or two then the tires shot to the right and now I have to adjust the steering all the way to the left just to get to go semi straight. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Also love what you've done to the rift.
Sounds like the servo may be giving out. Or the arm slipped or something. I would pull the servo arm off and then turn the truck on. Make sure your trim dial on the remote is centered and reset the servo arm with the wheels straight and the servo centered. Let me know if that helps.
@@2fmrc Thanks for the info. As soon as I found the right tools I did what you said and its working great again now. Thanks again for your quick response. I'll be doing a shout out to ya on my next video.👍🤙

Really appreciate it! Yeah those losi arms are way better than stock! No issues so far
Thats great news, mine just arrived today from the link you had. Still waiting on the sway bar set up, but excited to see the difference.

I used half of a silicone ear plug on my LMT C-Diff along with it being halfway filled with 500k diff fluid.... Good find on that sway bar 👊😁
Excellent video! I just got the ryft a couple of weeks ago. The torque twist is terrible so I'm stoked to try out your anti sway bar setup!

Awesome info, I'm wanting to add a sway bar like this to my Baja Rey instead of the stock one
Great idea i have that exact sway bar on my bomber . And now it will be on my Ryft when i receive the new axles

@@2fmrc Is there a part number for the long rod ends you used . i just order my 3mm rods and collars i had the sway bar assembly here already.
@@jakeedinger4547 I just used some I had but the traxxas long rod ends usually work well for extending any kind of links.
Awesome axial👌cool video 😍

Could you show a tutorial on the earplug mod in diff. I’d love to give it a try! I please and thank you.
