The two pin connector, IVA, Engine Compression Brake, Injector, Cat makes a splice harness. As I dislike cutting wires, I try first is to remove the plastic part of the connector. Most of the time I just break it off. I then inspect the terminals and usually you can respring them as they get flat. So I push it back up and make it tight. I take a old IVA solenoid and push it onto the terminal and verify the connection is snug. Once I know the harness is good, I take the Cat splice harness, take it apart. Throw the wires away and take the connector and install it over the factory harness. If you like the little seal, Cat does sell it separately.

i always liked HEUI systems over traditional, its built in safety is if you have a base engine problem low oil pressure, or clogged filter or similar, a HEUI truck will shut down typically before your core is destroyed or major damage is done making what you have still salvageable or perfectly fine if its a small issue, vs normal common rail it will run without Oil usually. or low oil and destroy itself without much warning maybe a dash light, i like HEUI systems as well for the fact they're not as susceptible to poor fuel quality or even contaminated fuel as a common rail system yes you could break some injectors overtime, but you have only so many high pressure oil lines and injectors and the pressures of this system are far far lower than a high pressure fuel pump say a CP3 or CP4, and in most cases when a CP3 or CP4 pump fail all your downstream fuel componets are generally taken with it, with a HEUI system HPOP fails catastrophically which is unlikely since it gets plenty of lube it lives in engine oil, you endup with a system although has quirks once overcome i think far outlive common rail counterparts with less mind paid to fuel quality and just normal oil changes granted oil change intervals on HEUI engines should be MUCH lower than common rail but its a practice i think everyone should do instead of todays OTR trucks doing 25,000 miles plus on a single oil change seen guys doing 80,000 mile oil change intervals on new equipment.

we have a special tool we use to remove c7-9 injectors its basically two long bolts that have allen heads in them(smaller than the injector bolts), two nuts that have some flat metal welded to the bottom of them that it folded upwards so you can hold it. The bolts go through the bolt holes on the injector and locate in the head. The nuts go beneath the injector mounts and you can easily unwind and pull out the injectors with a ratchet or allen key.

At our shop, we have two allen head screws the same size as your injector hold down bolts and two L brackets with a nut attached to them. We essentially use the two bolts to thread down through those nuts in the L brackets and down into the cylinder head to pry up on the injector. And place the L brackets on top of the injector to evenly press the injector for installation. Hope this makes sense? Can send you a picture if you’re more interested.

    Hey josh.
    Hello from isreal😁
In my experience with the c-7 i found that the best way to remove them is a peice of rope and a long pry bar.
You tie the rope to a circle and then you "choke" the injactor.
You slide the pry bar in the remaining rope, put one side on a high level peice of metal... hold the other side firmly and give it a good 'smack' up. (Like a c saw)
It takes about 3 minutes to pull all six...
Let me know what you think..
Thank you for your videos! You rock🤟

It seems to me that a tool that incorporates a slide hammer with a fork would be good for the injectors. But lift up on the injector evenly should make it easier, because just lifting up on one side can cause more binding on the other side.

My own homemade tool for those particularly asshole-ish injectors: If they are trash to begin with I have a small pulley puller over the injector head, held the fingers loosely in place with a zip tie, with a small slide hammer welded to the other end of the puller. A bit butch but they always pop right out after the 2nd or 3rd pop of the slide hammer and nothing gets hurt. If the injector you're pulling doesn't have a whole lot of flange depth for the puller fingers to bite a hose clamp over the puller fingers works like a champ too

    Question.......
The o-ring issue, loosing huei oil pressure, is that a problem on the 3126 as well?
    Also..... I have a 3126 the has an issue starting, Allison auto, 2001 C6500 Kodiak/Topkick, 26,000 GVW. Engine was swapped from a 2000 F650 w/Allison.
Recently it started this flutter, missing, weird thing at steady speeds, it also will yield white smoke if you let it continue. If you back out of the throttle or mash it to the floor it stops doing it and runs fine. Also it idles and starts great. The other day I decided I would make a run with it 75 miles away to pick up a Ram 1500. Now this truck is not my normal truck, it's driven by a part time driver, and she had only noticed the weird fluttery miss. So, as I was getting to my p/u the flutter became much deeper pitched and it would start loosing speed and RPM. Back out of the throttle and it would be fine for awhile. Also when the engine was swapped (about 7500 miles ago) I installed mechanical oil pressure 40psi at idle and temp guage 170 degree F. Normal and never seen it get over 200F. I've had people guess all kinds of different things, but if I listen to them and they are not CAT mechanics, it would be torn down to the pistons and rings, just to find out the the injector o-rings or the valves are hanging up or way out of adjustment.
