The wide ratio and the close ratio M-22 doesn't make any difference in the shifting. It's the gearing inside the transmission that makes them either close or wide ratio.
Beautiful car! I've got a 66 Caprice Ermine white with turquoise buckets and console interior. 327-275 powerglide. I love the 67, though. My favorite year!

@@richarddevoe5871& @stevefick3919....Actually you're BOTH wrong. The shift throw(s) are solely adjustable via the manner in which the linkage is set up. Luckily, & only from '64 to '67, the gear shift arms have a 2-hole choice for linkage rod(s) connection. The upper-choice hole on the arms will provide a shorter throw (shorter gate). Prior to '64, GM used the Borg-Warner Super T-10 4-speed w/their HD [big block] drivetrains. In '64-'67 GM utilized Muncie M20 or 21, & 22 {later} trannies. Beginning in '68, a bracket "stabilized" the linkage to the cross member, while engineering eliminating the prior "short-throw" capability.

Very nice Impala SS. I love the 67-69 Impalas, especially the SS 427 cars. My Grandfather has a 70 Impala (not a SS) that was real nice. It had a 350 small block in it, and I remember him always adding a cup of Marvel Mystery Oil to the gas tank every time he filled it up. I don't remember if he used regular or premium gas. It was only about 26-29 cents a gallon back then anyway!

I love these old Impalas. 4 speed is rare today. This is not show quality, some light restoration it could be.

That is NOT original paint....you guys KNOW that! That rear wheelhouse paint-over-rust immediately reveals that fallacy, as well as the overspray on the trunk hinge channels & hinges themselves. Nor does acrylic lacquer display a clearcoat depth as this does. Let's just admit it's a diamond in the rough. However, @ least an engine pad #'s authentication should've been attempted re. originality of the the drivetrain, & the cleanliness of that interior is severely lacking to facilitate a more marketable appearance before posting the vehicle on U-Tube.
