I’ve been watching you since the Kettle low slow setup video days and gotta say, your videos has been very helpful and entertaining. Keep up the good work!
I am Canadian, where poutine was invented. Poutine is gravy AND cheese curds on French fries with meat if you want, usually lardons of bacon or tender beef.
@@lynnkramer1211 Not sure what country "Frunch" people are from, but here in Canada we have French Canadians and English Canadians. Poutine (pronounced "poo-teen" by English Canadians and "poo-tan" by French Canadians) was invented HERE IN CANADA. Not sure where you are from, but what I "do" should have zero bearing on what I know about poutine...one of our country's favourite comfort foods!!
That looks awsome! I was raised in Quebec and a poutine is made of french fries fresh cheese curds and gravy! Give it a shot! But i know no need for a bbq for that! Cheers!!!
Reminds me of the old saying, “Diamonds are a skirt’s best friend” Okay, okay... “...a girl’s best friend” but that’s pretty close. Very tasty looking diamonds and skirts, guys!
I've had these. At our local butcher shop they call them the 'wrangler' steaks but are the petit tenderloin. They are very tender and very tasty. I love these steaks. Delicious! now I want one
Dude, I wish you wouldn't have let the secret out. They are called Petite Tenders here in Florida and are exactly as you say: delicious and inexpensive. Nice video!
With all burners on the Napoleon 500, temp reaches 700 easy. Have you tried to do neapolitan pizza in Napoleon before? Is it safe to keep the grill running at 700F plus temp for extended time!?
It’s unlikely to offend the french if you pronounce it that way, poutine is (if I’m not entirely wrong) from Quebec which was French Canada back in the day and they still speak french in many places
Looks very good, seriously beefy gravy! For the 'Needs cheese!' folk, he did put some sort of cheese curds on the taters before the gravy, he just didn't mention it.
Pourine is french fries, curd cheese and brown sauce. Adding anything is fine. But that was not a poutine as there was no cheese and no sauce. But it did look appetizing 👍.
Poo-teen. It is French, or French Canadian anyway, they sell it like french fries in Canada. That looks amazing, now throw some Gouda on there. Mmmmm 🤤
🙋 Hey PitmasterX !!! 👋😍😘🇮🇹 Gorgeous "Gravytatoes" 😂😂👍 I often make them like this, but it's a good fight with egg pasta 😋👍 Will you put the recipe in your signed and translated book that I am waiting for? 🤗🤗🤗
That looks good, but that's NOT poutine (eastern Canadian here).. I get it that it's like a poutine, but the crispy fries, are really important.. And the MOST important step that's missed is the cheese curds.. You NEED the squeak of the cheese in a good poutine, or it's just fries with gravy and cheese. St Alberts cheese curds typically used, though you'd probably have a hard time sourcing that.
Waw I love it but here where I live is not way that I can buy the that we call that a tinder cut but waw congratulations 🍾🎉🎈🎊 I know that cut it is amazing god bless you and your family and friends
I'm from Quebec, Canada. Big fan, keep it simple and tasty! We invented that meal.... The real way to pronounce it won't offend the russians nor the french... (listen to the clip en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine) God this is an amazing meal... At 3am (closing time pandemic times excluded) or with foie gras, always good!
That was a nice poutine! And I'm from Montreal, so I know what I'm talking about. It's pronounced Poo-Tin, with a slight/soft s after the T. So something like Poo-tsin (ts-in, like inside)
I see various people trying to guess what type of beef this is. You're all wrong. Originally in The Netherlands this piece was named differently, literally translating to jew tenderloin, referencing the shape and that it originates from the front half of the animal (and thus fits the orthodox diet). Due to current overwrought time this name is no longer allowed and thus chances are that this post will disappear as well. The cut is a rarely used muscle from the top of the shoulder blade and really is just as tender as the actual tenderloin they sell for four times the amount of this piece.
That's not a poutine even though it looks amazing! Funny how everybody wants to do a poutine but don't understand it. Do yourself a favor and taste a real poutine in Quebec City (when you can) and then you'll unterstand the real deal. Still great video and a great potato and steak meal.
@@aaronkennedy4662 poutine is made with only french fries gravy made in a weird way and cheese curds from canadian milk wich has it's own way of "aging" and rules. Any other ingredieny added is making it a different dish just like whiskey and it's rules. I was born and raise in Quebec where it was created and people here were and still are kind of obsessed with the origins of it.
Have tasted the terres major several times. It really is tender, but i did not like the taste. Why? In my opinion there is none. It is just tender but barely has a taste. Great Job either way!
In the Netherlands it's not called Diamond steak Because it looks like a Diamond. The original name is jodenhaas (something like the jew's tender) and this has everything to do with their food traditions, not Because the dutch wanted to be disrespectfull to them. Because jews can originally only eat from the front quarter of beef and this kinda is the only real lean steak in the front quarter. But Because is may sound offensive we started calling them Diamond steaks Because jews were, and still are, awesome in selling en cleaning up Diamonds. Quick history lesson😊
“You Don’t have to do that, BUT it looks good on camera” 🤣😂🤣 I can relate.
Hey Guga! ✋🏼
No one should die of to little butter in their meal. Would love to see a collaboration of SVE and Pitmaster X.
I just watched your wagyu eyeround video before this🤣
Tell me why you fired Ninja from your show!! I expect answers from you.
Giga and X in one show would be awesome!

Love that Roel makes a full dish with his food not just a steak. There are tons of videos grilling a steak. He takes bbq to a meal not an ingredient
That looks amazing!..Morrison has the best job on earth!..
With all burners on the Napoleon 500, temp reaches 700 easy. Have you tried to do neapolitan pizza in Napoleon before? Is it safe to keep the grill running at 700F plus temp for extended time!?
Teris major I use them for my bourbon sizzler platters
Try with squeaky fresh cheese curds, popular in the St Lawrence river area.
Can't wait a confit version of the any steaks you have
Poutine is a Canadian classic, fries cheese curds and gravy. Your version looked amazing though. Great job guys😎
I bet those meat trimmings you cooked from the brisket would make amazing tacos.
ever cooked Fish at the Pit? like Salmon fillets that would mix things up
I have never ever seen anybody sitting in front of his Napoleon... Thank you for that... 😉 😆
I’m not gonna tell anyone; hope the other 483K subscribers do the same. A well kept secret!
I don't think so, I ordered some a couple weeks ago and wanted to buy them now again but my butcher doesn't have them anymore :-(
Looking deeeeeelious!!
Looks amazing roel.
You can also make a great " steak tataki " with Diamanthaas

My butcher calls them the poor mans tenderloin. Amazing cut of meat!
We like to call them Teres Major. Best cut of meat for the price. Normally run about $8-$10 per steak
Here in Texas we call that cut a Southwest Griller. They are delicious!
Where is that cut?
@@robertbrady7914 It is on the front arm. It is actually right next to the arm roast.
Aardappelballetjes!!!!
Schaam je niet Roel ik zou het ook doen haha.
Ziet er weer heerlijk uit 👌
That meal looks delicious!
Have you ever smoked a beef Prime Rib Roast? Would smoking it ruin the meat?
Hey Roel, mag ik vragen op welke temperatuur je de bbq ongeveer houd voor het garen van de haas en op welke temperatuur je de haas af grilled?
I need this grill 😍
Hey Roel, waar haal je die wrongel vandaan?
Pourine is french fries, curd cheese and brown sauce. Adding anything is fine. But that was not a poutine as there was no cheese and no sauce. But it did look appetizing 👍.
Teres Major is the anatomical name for the Diamond steak
That steak is called a Flat Iron in Aussie and New Zealand FYI. :)
Hey Pitmasters
It is « Poutine » exactly like Vladimir
Says me, a Quebequoi poutine lover
*Amazing looking meal!* 🥩😍
Poo-teen. It is French, or French Canadian anyway, they sell it like french fries in Canada. That looks amazing, now throw some Gouda on there. Mmmmm 🤤

Beef scratchings are my perks as a cook!
It's officially called Teres Major.
Looks like a hanger steak ; )
Yes
Could the steak also be a Flat Iron. Flat Irons come from the shoulder.
die naam diamant steak gaf me echt een jaren 90 vibe bij het noemen ervan.
Where can I order some diamond steaks
Yessss another sweett recipe. ...😎💪👌👍

That’s a hanger steak in the U.S. I had one 4 days ago and it’s one of my favorite steaks
Does anyone know what else this steak is named? I'm not sure if I missed it in the video...?
Same for me 😅
Teres major
Oh my god that looks tasty

It's poontang!! Seriously, I'm part French!! Just not sure which part yet!🤔😂🤣 That looks amazing!!😋😁
Poutine is pronounced as “poetien” in Dutch
Is dit diamant haas / joden haas?
Diabolical! 😋
I won't tell anyone, your secret is safe with me.
Yeah, we won't tell anybody!
Poutine (pronounced « put in » is coming from the province of Québec in Canada!!! The french doesn’t have something like that 😝 Like you said!
Yeah but if they pronounce it like "Putain" then its gonna be awkward.
Pronounced "Poo-tan" if you are French Canadian where this favourite dish was invented, or "Poo-teen" for the rest of the English speaking world.
Its also called jodenhaas
Lucky dog! 😆
They look like the Savage Killing Worms from the Tremors Movies! Hahaha
What happened to the charcoal grill or the wood fire grill?? Went to propane what a shame. 😢
hey roel, how you doing today lol?
That was a nice poutine! And I'm from Montreal, so I know what I'm talking about.
It's pronounced Poo-Tin, with a slight/soft s after the T. So something like Poo-tsin (ts-in, like inside)
At 8:20, Morrisson said it pretty well
So what cut is the diamond steak??
I must have missed its. Wish you put the name in the description 😑
Teres major is a cut from the shoulder.
In the netherlands it is jodenhaas or diamanthaas
In Germany it is called Bürgermeisterstück.... really complicated
@@florianschlegel1980 Bürgermeisterstück ist ein anderes Stück und kommt aus der Keule.
Pretty sure the way you're saying poutine is the way french people say prostitute.
Its hanger steak isn't it?
OMG!!!! My wife says she wants to be Eva the dog!
Poutine (poo-tsin) from a French Canadian 🇨🇦👍 fresher cheese curds the better! They better squeak on your teeth thats the real deal poutine!
I call the dish a heart attack!!!
You need cheese curd and lots

Gravy
What do the Russians and French people think? I think the German people are confused if it actually is beef or just turkey.

This. Need cheese curds.
Petit tender has consistently been the same price as entrecote. Does that mean it is still cheap or is it expensive?
When my friends and I are butchering an animal we call it the pretenderloin.
😍😍😍
poutine is phonetically pronounced Poo-Teen
isn't the beef tenderloin the most tender?
There are too many UA-cam ads in your video.
Have tasted the terres major several times. It really is tender, but i did not like the taste. Why? In my opinion there is none. It is just tender but barely has a taste. Great Job either way!
I thought it was tri-tips
Inner tenderloins, nothing new. Best part of venison

i am upset he posted a video about teres major. because it is the best bang for your buck cut of beef and i want it to stay unknown.
Splurge and buy yourself a slotted spoon for ladling out anything from the rendered fat... haha
Hooligani... you dont upset russians, carry on.
Its pronounced Poontang, mate
My Cajun cousins pronounce it as "poo teen"!
So a almost "veloute sauce" ?!?!?!
camera effects would be cheezi 'cept we know it's 420....
Na deze video blijft dit stukje vlees niet meer het goedkoopste stukje vlees helaas 🥴
poo-tsin :) looks delish
Definitely not a poutine, but looks amazing and tasty!
