Hi Trevor, thank you for this new video at the end of the Haman Kardon receiver series, I don't think your videos are too long. On the contrary, you take your time to give lots of detailed information and it is totally relaxing for me to listen to you and watch you, please keep it up.

I've been watching your videos every week for a while and I think they're great. I collect old equipment and have over 20 years of collecting. 12 reel 2 reels, receivers, mixing boards, etc, all the Eq's and stuff that go with it. I'm 62 and a retired GM mechanic and can do the mechanical work but the electrical stuff, no way. I live in a small town in Indiana where only corn, Walmart, and horses are, ...and the horses ran off long ago with someone called Fred... Lol. Sorry for babbling, just thought you might need a laugh. Anyway, most of everything works well, but I only play it for a short time, keeping it cool with fans. Is this right for saving the equipment? I also unplug everything, though I'd need a power station to plug it all in... Lol... Thanks for the videos, and any info would be great. My name is Will, the horseless guy...lol. Be safe

My 330c has a stuck meter as well, so thank you for showing how to get it unstuck. Hope the one in mine releases as easily as the one you fixed.

Incandescent lighting is so damaging from the Heat, I have seen on my Kenwood KT 9900 3 VU meters at top, those bulbs got so hot they fried the chrome which turned to rust. Enjoyed your fixing of that stuck VU meter. That light assembly reminds me of Marantz, but Marantz worse due to plastic, not metal. You took out many SCR's on that, Hatachi explains it. On a final, I do not understand Haters and if you have nothing positive to say on this thorough rebuild..............keep quiet.

Can you share the Digikey part numbers for the new switches?

I do not like at all how you joined those 2 transistors. Those create heat and you stuck them together.

ha ha ha fellow noob here :) that could be exactly why he joined them together !!! :) sometimes techs join transistors together so that they are 'thermally coupled' this is so the thermal coefficient of the junctions match each other, you will see other big named youtubers use the same method but with thermal paste in between the two transistors.

That was the idea. Thermocouple them. Not sure but heat compound is used sometimes too

The idea behind coupling these two transistors is so they maintain the same temperature at all times. This is so when the temperature changes their operating characteristics both drift the same amount.
These transistors are in the input section of the amplifier and have very little heat generated because they are low power devices in a low power circuit
