There was no real farewell tour without this man...
Agreed....Clufetos is a very good drummer....but he "ain't" Bill Ward.....and you're right...it's not a true reunion without him
*BILL WARD, he's not just a drummer, he's a legend.*
speak in portuguese, stupid!
And a Percussionist 😏.
Fucking love Bill Ward
Me too! I'm proud to share the same surname with him! BILL FUC#!&G WARD!!!!!
BILL WARD!!! He is one of my most-important drumming influences to my development as a player. i always loved his jazzy approach to the birth of heavy metal. ROCK ON, Mr. Ward! You have and will always have warm spot in my drumming heart.
Bill will always be an iconic drummer with a great, unique style.
* Holding giant sticks *
“ These were definitely used on at least the first three albums. “
Jordan Sawchuk LMFAI i couldnt tell if he was joking for a second
He doesn't remember. It was not a joke.
I played in a dozen different cover bar bands over the last 33 yrs. I made sure there was at least 1 Bill Ward song each night. He had something a lot of other drummers lack.....swing. One of my personal drum hero's.
Bill Ward such a great legendary drummer. He still is and always was Sabbath!!! Both he a Geezer, were a very powerful and impressive rythm section. Always and 4 ever. We all love you Bill👍🤘
My personal favorite drummer of all time his work is amazing from songs like the wizard, rat salad to supernaut he truly is a unique and extremely complex drummer who also always served the song best but was never afraid of being a little flashy thanks bill
Thank you mr bill ward for the great music you were apart of,
A living legend. Way underrated
So sad that he can't even bring himself to say the name, 'Black Sabbath'. He made history. He set the tone for the music that we love today. Thank you, Mr. Bill Ward. You are the freaking man. Now that I think about..about him not saying the band name....he probably just doesn't want to get sued by Sharon Osbourne. haha..We all know that she likes to play dirty. Not that he could get sued....but you guys know what I mean.... Sad.
its kinda odd, not only does he avoid saying black sabbath in the video but there is zero mention of them on this video description OR the reverb shop page they made for him. seems like he and reverb are actively avoiding the connection.
Probably afraid to use the name hench Sharon sick lawyers on him for copyright infringement.
The nerve of that woman. I know she basically saved Ozzy's life, but good grief she is vile and heartless when it comes to an already vile and heartless music industry.
I hear you bud, Bill was a quarter of Sabbath, his drumming was key to there sound
nah its because of the way they treated him for the reunion they began in 2013 made famous by "god is dead?", and the subsequent tour. basically ozzy wanted the large stake as the big star, and tony and geezer wanted their 25% of the gross. so by cutting bill out they could give ozzy 50% and everybody happy except bill. they offered bill 100,000 bucks, knowing that he would turn that down (because they were making millions) and also knowing that they could get a fine drummer for that. they justified themselves by claiming they made him a fair offer and had concerns about his health. bill made clear that he found the offer offensive given all they had been through. heck, tony and geezer made bill break the news to ozzy that he was fired from sabbath, and after the 1 day reunion for live aid in 1985, bill promised ozzy he wouldnt rejoin sabbath at any point without ozzy's blessing. in my view its all 3 of them, (other sabbath members) and most especially ozzy, who are more to blame for the bill ward situation than sharon is. im no fan of sharon osbourne, but she isnt the one who screwed over the great bill ward.
Good to see old Bill Ward. My favorite drummer he sounds different than all other drummers. God bless you Bill for so many years of great drumming. I hope your doing well these days.
Bill always said "I'm not a drummer, I'm a percussionist" listen to his drumming on the sabbath albums he never approached the drums the way anyone else did, you'll never hear anything like that anywheres else, he played drums like no one else has "ever" he's always been one of the most original drummers on the planet and his absence from the last days of sabbath is nothing short of a "crime" and although their drummer in the end was great & reminded me of a young" Bill" it wasn't Bill and "no Bill, no sabbath" it was like Zeppelin without Bonzo any true black sabbath fan will always acknowledge your equality and importance in one of the most influential bands in history!!!
Much of the drumming in Iron Man is rather unorthodox and very unique.
Its a shame hes in the top 3 best i think ive been a drummer for over 40 yrs cant stand these lists these jerk offs come up with and rate him like 10 or 15 man thats unreal
My favorite drummer ever, and someone I had the chance to speak to on the radio. Hope this doesn't mean he's retiring for good. The world needs more Bill Ward!
Thank you Mr. Ward for being a true inspiration to me to take up the drums. Bless you sir.
Love this guy. And Ringo. Same feel Brilliant.
Geez!.....the history in this video.
Top five of my favorite drummers. I saw Sabbaths next to last show in 2017 in Birmingham. Every single cell in me wished for him to come onstage atleast as a surprise to play one song. Just to see him with the band. I´m still sad it never happened.
The original Zildjian cymbals from the first 3 Sabbath albums......just wow!!!! Those 2 drum kits were also amazing. That double bass Ludwig and Premier are beyond beautiful
We will Always Love Bill Ward!
Every morning he can wake up and think "heeeey, I'm Bill Ward!" :D
Saw him live 4 times - brilliant every time. Chip Barkhouse The Drummist
That footage of Sabbath playing Paris in 70,is my favourite Sabbath!
I wish Sabbath let him come back for the farewell tour. It kinda chapped my ass that he wasn't up there with them
Wasn't there contract issues that kept him from doing the last record/tour? He wasn't satisfied with the offer?
I remember at the time reading they couldn't agree on a contract, but I can't confirm that either.
Didn;t Ozzy say he was way out of shape to play? Or was that just a bs excuse? I wanted him in that reunion real bad as well dude... like a lot of us. I mean to have all 4 guys for the album and tour???? Would have been so fuckin cool.
My vague recollection is that he called the contract "unsignable"
This is impressive when someone can hang on to the vast amount of stuff that comes your way as a successful musician, I know a lot of people give most things away as they go, but the best place to depart with your gear is definitely through Reverb!
Bill is a drumming legend.and a huge influence on my,and many many drummers style. You can hear his jazz influence in his fills. On the first 3 albums all his fills im sure are improved and are amazing.and he seems like a great guy.someone you could hang out with and talk shop all day with.
He is the man when I was younger in Rockport Texas we used to hang out with him and his family very humble very nice around the time that movie Broken Arrow came out with John Travolta and Christian Slater I remember going to the movies with him checking it out very nice guy absolute honest generous gentleman
Cool.. I never met him in person myself, I've seen him play live, but I have a friend that took lessons from me, that was friends with Bill at an earlier time , had great stories about him, I was pretty jealous. I have had the chance to meet several other great pros, can't take time here, but I've had a fun life.
You can tell he's still a giant drum nerd at heart 🥁🤘
Good to see Bill, he is actually better than most understand
Absolutely inventive!
Much Love Bill Ward You're an Inspiration and legend!
His hi-hats are at shoulder level, thats mad...you gotta love Bill.
The Beautifull Bill Ward, Thank you.
Bill Ward, is only the most underrated in so called top -- lists, to musicians there's nothing about him under anything. He was one of maybe 3, Bonham , Paice, in my mind that turned rock from toe tapping to soul cracking, and they were so smooth.. but thunderouus.
Awesome, awesome, this is just exciting, thank you, Dear William!
Got to see the real deal Black Sabbath in 1999. Amazing show. Thank you for being part of the creation of heavy metal, Bill. We are all eternally grateful.
CHOKED DOWN, Wow Bill holds His sticks all the way down to the end and still has such great feel and snare speed 😳
SUCH A BEAST Thanks for everything Bill Ward.
I love that I share a birthday with this man!
Incredible Bill still has those Ziljians fantastically dark l even think he played them on never, wow.
A gent thru and thru Listened since 1970.My fav Drummer of all time
I wonder if he's selling the kit that John Bonham pounded the crap out of playing Supernaut when Sabbath and Zeppelin were recording at the same studio. You 'd get a kit played by two legends
Love the Picasso look!
He's looking well...lovely guy and fantastic drummer
One of the best, NOT Black Sabbath without Bill....
Definitely not. His playing was an essential piece of the whole and it looks like he still has all pieces.
Your so right. He was integral to the Sabbath sound. An absolute legend.
Ain't that the truth. Some drummers don't take the limelight, yet still make the sound of the band. Ward's one of them.
My living hero.
Cheers Bill 🤘🤘🤘
Give this man an honoris causa doctorate for his contribution in rock music.
Such a sweet soul. He's really an amazing player. I modeled my drum world from him and Ginger and Mitch
I jam with my old band once a month and the last song on the set list is War Pigs and I'm 56 and it is as fun playing that song now as it was when i was trying to learn the song at 15 yrs. old . That's 40 years ago, wow.
William Thomas Ward is the best drummer ever!
Rock drummer God extraordinaire! The original heavy Metal drummer!!!
One of my top 5 influences with out a doubt made me want to pick up sticks and bash something. Much Love Bill

Thank you Mr Ward. As a drummer I would love to own any of that gear. But I just got laid off. So I can only pound on what I got. God Bless you all 🥁
man just awesome to see Bill play !
I was lucky enough to see Bill with Sabbath at the NEC in the 90's. Definitely a memory to cherish
I would pay just to play on those original cymbals so I can hear what they sound like in person, the small crash ride answered my question I wondered what he used on Children of the Grave
I want the California Jam mismatched set.
He's still got that swing : ) Only truly great drummers have this, God Bless you Bill ❤️
God bless you Bill. Thank you for all you have done with B.S.
One of my very favorite drummers! Thanks, Bill!
I LOVE YOU.
BILL WARD.
Mr. ward needs to come back to Chicago!!! Possibly a meet and greet at Chicago music exchange?!?!? :)
Did he say the one set goes back to yhe Mythology days? That is too badass!
Nobody quite has that thundering, ominous rhythm to his drumming like Bill. Was lucky enough to see the original Sabbath before it all went to hell.
Bill Ward. What a sweet man. A legend.
you are WAY kooler than i ever imagined, and i met you in 1999 in Beantown! REUNION! changed me life 4 evah! tm drmz
His approach on the Heaven & Hell album, brought out a superb side to his playing.
I don’t believe he recorded heaven and hell did he?
@@lovelobster8475 yes it was all Bill, that driving grooves on H&H recordings.
Bill ward I love your drum kits \M/.
when I listen to the drums on the first Вlack Sabbath album I'm crazу
ótimo baterista , Bill ward sem comparação!
Like the hi-hat setup on his double bass Ludwig set with the cymbals way up high.
I just think of him with his hair braided playing Snowblind or Symptom of the Universe just mashing his kit back in the 70s.
ua-cam.com/video/cDXgyU9ObzA/v-deo.html
His drumming is so unique.
He still kick ass on the drums
baterista incrível the best drums!
I could easily hear Bill talking for days! He's the best drummer ever! Long live Mr. William Thomas Ward!

Grande BILL WARD......lo maximoo...B.S..
Dude! I have to get my hands on some of this memorabilia
Ronnie James Dio had nothing but great things to say about Mr Bill Ward,,
The best drummer to ever play in my opinion,,
Actually underrated if you can come to grips with that,,,,
A true Heavy Hitter,,,
The "big three" that laid the foundation of heavy rock drumming: Ward, Bonham, and Paice.
Here! Here!!
@@bmdc1988 Ginger was great but he even said, he considered himself more of a swing drummer.
@@jmdrummer7 But Baker's drumming is super heavy, too. Paice actually swings a lot, but you're right. He's also a heavy music trailblazer! All of them are amazing, though.
father of heavy metal drumming he started it all
My favorite drummer of all time
I love you Bill
Bill Ward is such a nice person. This is very cool.
I'm amazed he was able to keep hold of all this stuff as it's no secret he had issues with substance abuse (as have we all ) and was broke for quite a time ! One of the best ever !
nice ride cymbal work
love Bill...the heart of Sabbath. what a master
god bless u bill sutch a nice and humble man xx
You're telling me I can buy Bill Ward's drum gear?!?!
Huge fan of Bill Ward! Wish I was born in the 60's instead of 2002 :( I missed all the good bands
i was also born in 2002. I wish i was born in 1955
Then form one.
Josh Wheatstone You can listen to more great records now than any time in history. Yeah you can't see them live and that blows but you can listen to anything from The Ink Spots to CCR to Lair Of The Minotaur to Superorganism with only a few swipes and taps from nearly anywhere on the planet.
Same

A Legend!
Un grande entre los grandes
