Hi DieselDucy, Just watched your 8 year vid on UA-cam. I think that you are probably my favourite UA-camr ever! You have inspired me to ride elevators and to become an all - round good person. Thankyou soooooooooooo much!
A stone building like this was only built THIS YEAR (unless this was an existing building that was restored)? I'm impressed that some people still show some appreciation for older styled architecture on the outside, with the modern on the inside.
thewildeeper I took a look on VT's site at some of the other buildings on the campus, and noticed, like you said, almost all the buildings are constructed with the "Hokie Stone" and constructed in a similar design. I must say, it is pretty neat that they use nearby resources for the stone, and use an older style of architecture for the buildings, even the the newer ones. Too bad not many people choose to build in this style. I do appreciate the newer "blocky" buildings, it's refreshing to see an older style in use here.
Finally! Cheers for 2:53; I now know what those buttons on the new elevators at SEPTA do. Interesting that the beeper button is only on one side. Do love that the hall lanterns show direction of travel, but I can see that as being slightly confusing on floors with both directions of travel are possible (Mitsubish blink I think would fix that though.)
My sisters old dorm hall at her college had these inovation security buttons on a hydraulic unit and my theory was the elevator used to be an otis or a westinghouse because it had the emergancy dropkey compartment on the ground floor and it had a mesh or some really cool heavy duty steelwork on the innerdoors and the actual cab had the same thing but even though it was modernised it still has alot of character to it.
Very nice elevators, and they sure run really well for modern elevators. Also, it sure is interesting that they built this building in a historic aesthetic appeal, and is Amy a friend of Jeff, or is she his new girlfriend?
Amy looks like a reporter. what those funny window things? innovation fixtures are nice. the UMass ILC does that, a pair of elevators then a solo elevator elsewhere. newer style freighters look cleaner. parking the freighter in the lobby reduces wait time.
***** I want you to know that I am gay too. I have fantasys about patrik and dan allan. Today i dpeak the thought from elevatorgeek88 mind. I am nice but gay

It's Tech's architectural style. Almost all of the buildings here are made with this "Hokie Stone," which is mined locally.

I like the freight elevator best.
A NEW building that is HISTORIC!! That is LIT!!
very very smooth elevators and AWESOME building
These are unbranded Thyssenkrupp. This is what they have at PDX airport in Portland Oregon. Same voice and same buttons
Elevating Oregon since 2015 ah would never have guessed, thx for pointing that out
Elevating Oregon since 2015 How do u know?
That building looks amazingly awesome! That Jet Engine reminds me of a Thomas and Friends DVD called Thomas and The Jet Engine
So they let you just walk into any random building?
Jeff goes to school here. And I think colleges are pretty relaxed on security too because they can't determine if you are a student or not.
It is at a public school as well and they have an open campus policy.
thats really cool!!
That voice sounds like a Thyssenkrupp voice.
What brand are the elevators? Does the elevator records say what they are? The climes sounds like Montgomery or KONE
I like that the building looks old outside but new inside !
The "funny things on the windows" are light shelves, designed to direct natural light into the building.

Innovation security is not my favorite.
Yeah I like the innovation/montgomery ones better
how did you get a real photographer with a big camera to film this?
I remember that freight Elevator
Most likely that was an IAE engine.
Love that freight elevator! Would be awesome to film with you sometime.

Beautiful elevators ;)
COOL ELEVATORS

That looks like a Pratt & Whitney engine design.
What company installed these?
Looks like an Otis
Very Unique!
innovation pb13 is my favorite
does Amy have a youtube channel?

American elevators are cooler than europeans or Italians.
