[P3D V4 60FPS] LaGuardia - Boston | Full Flight | VATSIM | TFDi 717
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- Grab yourself several drinks/some snacks and welcome to the LONGEST video I've ever posted. 1hr 45mins of jam packed action, full VATSIM Air Traffic Control (ATC) and a plane that although I praised at the start, bit me hard.
We start at New York's LaGuardia (KLGA) Airport in the TFDi 717 (Delta) with a destination of Boston (KBOS). There's a VATSIM event on which ensured us FULL ATC from gate to gate and we absolutely got just that!
I wont spoil the fun, just watch and see for yourself!
As always, constructive feedback/comments always appreciated :)

When he said "level 10000" all I could hear was Speedbird in my head going "fLiGhT lEvEl 4000!"
Fantastic video Matt. Haven't even got past the intro but fantastic video Matt...
pogchamp real jonfezza
recently read an article about the 717 and how when it was first produced none of the airlines really wanted it...now it's a highly sought after aircraft. Very much ahead of its time
lmao that kid got peppered by ATC. Can't lie though, we were all at that stage once
Yea, we have all been there, but I would’ve logged off and went to study up
BOS_GND here! Thanks for flying! If you're interested in staying up late again and doing the return flight, our next FNO is on 12/21 from 2359 to 0430z alongside New York and DC, who will also be staffing up. We are also doing a "mini-CTP" style event with Dutch VACC departing KBOS on 12/15 from 1300-2300z outbound to EHAM. See you on the scopes!
Finally, the sim king is back
What a bloody good greaser, pure butter, keep it up mate!
This video is the literal reason why I don't fly online. If you make even a small mistake, controllers start yelling at you and being dicks. They only seem to care about easing their workload, not helping people out in a friendly way. My first VATSIM experience was a disaster, I made a few mistakes here and there due to being stressed since it was my first time, controllers got pissed and one even messages me saying: "Don't ever come to VATSIM again." And yes, never coming back. And you literally can't understand a thing they are saying because in 2018 they still use Medieval Age codecs.
Good video all in all. You seem to know how to deal with the stress.
Zetanist Yeah, I personally have never flown online because I’m too afraid of getting crucified when I inevitably make a mistake. Some people seem to forget that it’s just a game. It’s not the real world, mistakes aren’t that big of a deal.
I was afraid before my first flight aswell luckly i was lucky and had only one atc who was pretty nice as i told him that this was my first flight aswell i looked where aren't that many people so i flew from zurich to prag but since then i never returned becausr of lack of atc and now i switched to IVAO cause there are more atc's and there are some cool tours
I had the 717 before 1.1 and man have they stepped up their game. I already thought the 717 was a nice and good aircraft and after 1.1, they added the icing to the cake. The forums are amazing, the developers actually care about user feedback and reflect the feedback into their updates. Just like the wing flex. Couldn't be happier to fly this beauty and love the Hawaii hops ;)
Nice. I found a US aircraft carrier just off the mid Wales coast with an escort in X-Plane 11 . I was instructed to wave off repeatedly but landed on it anyway. It had a Hawkeye with it’s props turning, A6 Intruders and F-18s. The rescue helicopter was airborne and a lift came up with an aircraft as I was on finals. All the crew were on deck in their coloured vests.
Having the full flight was really nice to watch/listen to while I'm finishing all my term papers! Keep it up, Matt
@@mattdavies Thank you!
Back to old days, so nice to c u on UA-cam like before
I'll agree on all fronts. Boston has some of the best ATC on Vatusa (sorry to my comrades at cleveland lol), and Flytampa Boston is absolutely gorgeous! Great video for a great FNO!
-1fpm are you trying to kill me. That’s just naughty Matt well done mate!!!!
I’m so happy ur back
Glad to have you back Matt!! Loving your videos as always!!
The term your looking for is short field takeoff love it as always Matt
Always so glad to see new videos from you Matt!! I'm trying to return to flightsim, I haven't been back since P3d V2, and I love your style. A mix of cool chilled flying with enough seriousness to give valuable lessons for people like me. A huge thank you for sharing Matt!! Awesome content as always!
Great job Matt, I fly this AC a lot recently after years in the NGX. it got some issues but a joy to fly after understanding the nuances. See you soon! Joe
Great video Matt, as per usual, great to see you really getting back into it again. I'm looking forward to flying on one of these fascinating aircraft next week, so this was perfect timing.
Wow the 717 FMC looks like the MCDU in the Airbus :c. Lovely video Matt, happy Christmas!
Awesome video matt loved the taht greas landing
You're blessing us with this upload marathon Matt
Matt I have been watching you for years, you got me into flightsim and I have picked up your knowledge on aircraft. Ps. So glad ur back
Glad to have you back! We've missed your awesome videos!
The 717 night textures look like utter shite, but the addon as a whole is coming on leaps and bounds with every update, so GG TFDi. Another great video Matt.
Awesome video Matt! Really fun to see you fly on VATSIM. Looking forward to more flights on VATSIM :-D
Thanks for so many uploads, Matt!
Great video. The light at throttles can be adjusted by the dimmer closest to the windscreen on the overhead panel. It's the one in front of overhead panel flood/dimmer.
The 717 betrayed you at the decent 😂
The light you were looking for is that small, inner black turning knob right below the one you were initially turning. Also, TRANS and AUX pumps come off with slat retraction.
Matt your understanding of aircraft systems is impressive
Really enjoy your videos! I have been following you about 1.5 years and you are just getting better! Your only problem is that you don't upload many videos per month....! Anyway, very good video!
Super video Matt! Keep the VATSIM vids coming!
almost near perfect landing score very good video keep them up!!!!
I really like and enjoy your videos. Night flights is in my impression to „dark“ to enjoy the entire sim feeling. Keep the great work up 👍
Yes, could not agree more about TFDI 717. I bought it when it was first released and it was average at best. Then the update came and it’s now one of my favourites.
Bloody greaser... loved this one Matt!
I thinking it was a real life in the thumb picture haha. So good to see how good the flight simulator are looking good now ages. When I was 13 we never got this good game. We used to play with sticks and stones. It is now my son has gave me top of the league htc phone to help me be gamer. I love gaming with the candy crush and everything it is such high graphic. I’m very lucky to play it.
Wow it got heart
Keep up wonderful content
That landing made the video even better :)
That was definitely one of my favourite landings ever
Ayye another beauty Matt! These longer videos are great 👌
1FPM! BEAUTIFUL!
another great video matt, been enjoying the recent videos :D
1FPM damn
Great video! I always like the longer videos.
Love the videos bro keep em coming
I have subscribed for a while but I really had a hard time to find your videos because I didn't rember your name. I haven't seen you in my YT-homescreen in a while while before you where always there (because I watch your videos). Something about UA-cam has changed and I can't find my smaller youtubers videos anymore unless I search for it. And with 100 of them it's easy to forget the name. Finally I remembered your name and I did actually click the bell. My point here; is there anything you could do to be more visible without chunking out loads of cash? I am sure there are loads of people that would love your content. Keep it up Matt :)
Top class material as always
Another amazing video Matt! I gotta admit I might get the 717 after watching this aha :)))
Amazing as always, although I’ve no idea how the ATC keep their cool with some of those in this video. It would be amazing watching you fly the B748F down to Santiago from Miami.
That start pump is mistaken for having something to do with the engine start by many a simmer. I only fly the Md80, which also has got it, so I did a full CBT on it before I bought it and learned quite a lot. The start pump is a fuel boost pump running on DC power (as opposed to the regular fuel boost pumps that use AC and therefore also has less wear (no commutator)).
The whole point with it, is that when you only have battery power available and you need to start the APU, you use the start pump to get fuel to the APU. Once APU generator is on line, you turn on one of the right side AC fuel boost pumps and turn off the DC operated start pump.
Glad to see the vids coming back. Lovely content, miss the strums tho :)
1:09:30 thank me later
1:49 well spent. Another gre@ video Matt =)
Nice job Matt
Great vid , love the 717!
That landing rate though!
Great video again keep up the good work
i hope the A380 project is almost finished cant wait to see you fly it
Great video. Just an FYI.....the start pump is used for the apu only, not to start the engines. You can also use the aft right fuel pump for apu as well instead of the start pump.
Obviously the fuel pumps need to be on to start the engines.
By the way, you ever think of buying Chris Bell’s black marble? It dramatically improves the whole nite flight experience....his nite lighting looks incredible!
Love your videos mate
The start pump is only used to start the APU when you are not on ground power first. Not a criticism just an FYI :) Nice video.
"I'm getting older..."
Matt Davies, 2019
love the vid matt
You did a review on the 717 out of LGA I found it a few months ago. Went and got it as I fly deltavac- love it.
hi matt happy new year hope every thing is cool have a great new year ahead.................
Another 👏🏻 amazing 👏🏻 video
I love you, u gave my Thursday meaning
1fpm THE ULTIMATE BUTTER
I'm gonna enjoy my coffee while watching this
I think the issue with the VNAV was that you never reached your planned cruise. Your FPL was for FL270, but you only made it to 210. It won't calculate a T/D unless you reach the cruise altitude on the INIT page. Great video!
I wouldn't be surprised if that's a bug since TFDI seems to not have modeled any of the systems properly unless its a way they've regularly flown it. Lot of really basic things crept through bug testing and remain to this day. I've had endless issues with the VNAV which can't even seem to half the time do descent planning half as good as I can. And if you notice he actually did edit his cruise level in the FMS so its just totally borked then.
Buttery landing 🤩
Lovely as usual Matt, happy 2019. Could you please do some Caribbean flying? FSDG just released St Lucia and it looks fantastic.
Great video Matt and good to have you back. Can you tell me what software you're using for the airports at KBOS and KLGA? The Boston one looks more detailed than any I've seen. Thanks, and have a Happy Christmas!
@@mattdavies Thanks, Matt.
Awesome plane, awesome video!!!
Hi Matt, you ever thought about doing a flight in the Qualitywings Avro RJ100 etc? Love flying that aircraft!
TFDi to me is analogous to Rotate in X-Plane. While I rarely fly P3D I do happen to own TFDi 717 if little else. Like the TFDi 717, the Rotate MD-80 Initial release was pretty terrible aside from textures, but they put the time in to make it good. Granted TFDi got further to true fidelity and much more quickly than Rotate. But the initial Rotate MD-80 was so bad I used to regularly dissuade people from purchasing it. But they've at least taken the time to fix the egregious things and make it decent. It's still not a Flight Factor product but they've shown dedication to fixing the product.
TFDI had a cyber Monday sale for this plane. I decided to pick it up during that sale.
nice vid, keep it up!
Once at the T/D set the altitiude on the MCP and press PROF it should also say on the PFD HOLD 11000 and above that PROF TO 6000
Can confirm route - MERIT is right over my house. Almost all NYC Eastbounds fly over every day
Nice flight
Same on the md80 with the strobe lights. They will come alive when you takeoff
Lovely! Another video :D
Use the SODE option at Boston
717 is awesome.
Great flight
Awesome stuff ( including tutorials & How to's of flight & VATSIM etc in _playlists_ )!
New sub #90,897
Cheers!
Project Fly would have said, "You Have Unlocked The Greaser Achievement The 100,000,000th Time!"
if only my performance is this good in the sim
Great one! I'm a new subscriber to the channel, and would very much appreciate to see you flying over to Brazil sometime =). Could you do the BA0247 flight to GRU? Cheers
@14:38 gotta insert the TOC temp / (+) figure for headwinds and (-) for tail winds
legend
Well done Matt another great video to enjoy by all, back at your best.
Just out of interest what scenery is used for LaGuardia??
Matt Davies thank you i have v1 for fsx but will look to upgrade to v2 for p3d if and when affordable to me lol
Unfortunately, I get terrible FPS in this aircraft. Even at default scenery. :( Anyway, I digress, good video thought :).
You might be the only person I heard say that they like LaGuardia Airport
hi matt its jayden
Ur actually such a beast at flightsim #ilovematt ;)
If you click on the bottom of the FMC like on the PMDG aircraft, you can type using your keyboard.
Thanks brother, keep em coming.
