We've done three cruises on Star Clippers - two on the Star Clipper and one on Royal Clipper and LOVED all three. We are considering a 2023 cruise on the Star Flyer in Greece next summer.
Why are these ships rated 3.5 out of 6? I thought maybe the cabins were really small, nd I guess they are, but they looked very nice. I would trade a roomy cabin for sails any day. Could it be something else?
Thank you for posting. I was on Starclipper and Royal Clipper about 20 years ago and am considering a voyage in 2024. I wonder if they have done any refurbishments? The video shows the ship very favorably (as in the ship looks in good shape).
Thanks for watching! Yes, it was in pretty decent condition. I like all the natural wood. It was refurbished about 10 years ago. We had a fun time. The entertainment is really fun! Happy travels!
Thanks for watching. Please feel free to go ahead and look at the description box for this video to find two separate tours of five cabins on Star Clipper. Happy cruising.
My brother and I are thinking of going on a Star Clippers cruise, but I'm a bit nervous after reading some passenger reviews. I was seeing similar complaints come up more than once, such as the ships are in poor cosmetic shape, plumbing issues, officers/management are rude and unhelpful, loud motor sounds in the cabin, no free water, not enough places for passengers to spread out, and overall mismatch between the price and what you ultimately get. Obviously, it's a sailing ship so it's not going to be the same as a cruise ship, but what are your thoughts on this? I realize there will always be negative reviews of anything, but seeing such a range of issues noted makes me very wary.
Thanks for watching. Much of these critiques are definitely correct. We had some good service and some indifferent. The food was not good. The ship is definitely older and I think really cool. But it definitely isn't luxurious accommodations. I think it's a great way to travel if the price and destination make sense. The nightly entertainment is a blast and you can enjoy all kinds of active stuff on the ship and in ports.
That was nice , gives one an idea of what to expect
Thanks for having a look. It's an interesting ship. So wonderful to be sailing in the outer decks. Happy travels!

It would of been nice to see a little more of the buffet food and a cabin or two...
