- This is an up to date Guild Wars 2 guide covering everything you need to know about the Guardian. This video shows off all of the weapons the Guardian can use and looks at all of the individual weapon skills. It also has a look at all of the healing, utility & elite skills the Guardian has at it's disposal. It then goes on to look at the core specializations the Guardian has and what each individual trait does for your character. The video finishes with a short combat demonstration with a basic Guardian build so you can see what it looks like when it all comes together.

For the greatsword skill 5 a lot of the time you don't want to press it again to pull them in unless you absolutely need to. It ends the damage tick on them and that skill does quite a bit of damage over 10 seconds if you just leave it.
Good advice ☺️ it's something worth considering depending on what the situation is 😊
for pvp it is worth pulling fast because the damage can't crit and the pull is more valluable to make the enemy in place for an extra proc of a symbol

What armour dyes are you using?
For the Greatsword 2 it's better if do it "inside" the enemy, so the projectile and "swing" will both hit for max damage.

Hi, first of.. great guide! for beginners.. i would like to ask if.. do i have to worry building my specialization traits? or i can get them all as i level up and just play with the combo skills? because seems in the video you mentioned all the specialization skills but did not make a recommendation which to learn.. thanks in advance!

Can you do a DragonHunter Guardian GS + longbow build for open world? Would love to try longbow!
Sorry if this was answered during the video, but are the elite specialisations necessary for top performance? I really don't like how they change the playstyle of the class away from the paladin style. I don't want to lay traps and use a bow for instance, that sounds more like a Ranger to me.
Elite specializations aren't required but you will struggle to find a meta build these days that utilizes a base class so I guess it depends on what level you wish to play at ☺️ I would say that just because you choose an elite spec, doesn't mean you have to utilize the unique weapon or new utility skills. For example, you can play a Dragonhunter quite similar to base Guardian and there is definitely no need to use a bow or traps if you don't want to 😃

Got any recommendations on how to test out the different classes without having to spend lots of time in each one for leveling etc?
Thanks man, really appreciate it! To test out all of the classes, I would recommend travelling to the Heart of the Mists in your PvP menu and then to go to the combat training area. This will allow you to try out any build you like including all elite specs :-)

So great video and being a new player and all I take it that this class is very self sufficient soloing as much content as you want barring fractals and raids then? I mostly solo is why I ask or is their better options? I am playing a mesmer atm which is fun level 12 but not sure it was the best first pick lol.
Guardian is great for a solo player! Either that or Necro would be my first choice for playing solo 😃 Mesmer is a really awesome class but will take a bit longer to get used to! Stick with it if you're enjoying it though ☺️

49:29 OH MY GOD THANK YOU! I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out why my F1 ability seemed to be bugged, but it turns out my game client was telling me in the tooltip I had Spear of Justice but it turns out that's not the right ability! Hecking weird.

Im not sure what the goal in this game is. Is it to level to 80? Win something pvp related? Find or craft rare gear? Find something else? Or just running arround doing quests until they are all done?
The goal is to have fun mate, how you go about that is completely up to you 😃

The guardian is very viable in all game modes including PvP ☺️ although I wouldn't be worrying too much about PvP build specifics yet! Here's a basic Greatsword PvP build below:

Is there another two-handed sword class that's like guardian but more edgy like a mesmer?
Mesmer Greatsword is really good but not really like the Guardian as it's a ranged weapon! If you level up a Necromancer to level 80 and unlock the Reaper elite spec, you will be able to use a Greatsword and it is glorious! 😃

They really need to bring back retaliation, it’s the thing making up for guardian’s low health and energy regen.

If you haven't yet unlocked the Dragonhunter elite spec, you can still use that build and just switch out anything you haven't yet unlocked 😃

I totally agree with that! I used my level 80 boost on a class that I wasn't bothered about leveling with. You never feel the same attachment to those characters in my opinion 😊
@@HeroicFlamingo also it a new game for me so might as well enjoy the storyline and learn everything about my charecter. I just hate the fact that there isn't a lot of core builds.
A lot of the popular builds can be tweaked as they still contain a lot of core skills but yeah most of the best builds do incorporate them! The elite specs are so awesome though 😃

Nice guide. But, I'm stating today as a F2P. Can um put a video with best zero to hero f2p guardian. Sure if I like this mmo I will buy dlcs
