Genshin Impact: Fontaine Main Theme (Piano Arrangement by Me)
Вставка

- My first time transcribing (arranging really) an orchestral piece for solo piano. It could have gone worse tbh
also video title is missing the "e" in Fontaine, oop
Score: musescore.com/...
Original: • Fontaine Live Symphony...
Note: The score is a little different compared to the visualization in the video. I made it slightly more forgiving while preserving as much of the original detail as possible. I'm not the best when it comes to keeping stuff playable...
-----------------
Where do I begin with this? Lets start with me discovering how great Genshin Impact's OST is, even though i have never touched the game. The Live Symphony performance of Fontaine's theme really struck a chord with me!
I actually wanted to transcribe the Icewind suite, but very few people have actually arranged this particular theme for piano, so I decided to try it out myself. Orchestral transcription is quite a different beast compared to what I usually do. I have to consider fine details while keeping the entire piece playable for one person (spoiler: it's almost not playable)
Being my first time doing an orchestral transcription, I asked for a LOT of help from people i know. They gave me a lot of ideas and advice and it really helped me with the process. Even though a few parts sound questionable, I'm perfectly content with the outcome
Hope you enjoy this surprise genshin arragement! I MIGHT explore another genshin piece, but dont count on it lol
-----------------
Special thanks to the people who helped me:
@pjotrkolster (Advice about writing arpeggios)
@ErenSan (Helped me with 1:56 -2:10)
Asriel Kujo (for checking harmonic accuracy)
Inspired by:
Eren-san and
@LuzireMusic's Fontaine Waltz arrangement, but i ended up with something different entirely. (Fontaine more like Punten)
#genshinimpact
Prolly the best transcription I've seen so far. The amount of details you've added is accurate and creates good harmonies. Playability is questionable, you need big hands and virtuosic skills to perform this I think. (yes I tried playing it)
Thank you! yes, the playability is pretty questionable... a particularly difficult part is the descending chromatic thirds at 0:46 . If I do something like this again, I'd probably make it playable for mere mortals lol
ua-cam.com/video/XKusPBKcNg4/v-deo.htmlsi=VePIMbCTHQNTNMIz
This arrangement is easier, but takes more liberties with added flourishes and subtle rubato. It is definitely playable though
@@Knix6593 The descending chromatic isn't as difficult as 0:58 fast left hand jumps and 1:56 arpeggio inserts. There are other patterns that doesn't go well with hands specially those 16th note runs and far jumps.
That arrangement seems playable because the midi looks like played by real human.
@@craiver00I see. Thanks for the feedback! I'll add easier alternate passages to the scores when I have time
@@Knix6593 Sure thing bro, you don't have to change anything by the way. We're already lucky to have your transcription for free.
@Knix6593 I tried it, it is possible just takes some practice 😅 the hard part is the radom descending notes at 1:01
What a sorrow waltz
I hear lots of much simplified Alkan harmonies and Rachmaninoff techniques here. That's great!
That's surprising because I hardly listen to Alkan... lol
@@Knix6593 I see! Maybe my tastes have become too twisted after listening to Sorabji the majority of my music-listening sessions.
THIS IS MY FAV GENSHIN SOUNDTRACK AAAAAA AND THIS SOUNDS SO GOOD
Thank you! My favorite would be Inazuma's main theme, but I'm not skilled enough to make a piano arrangement of that....
@@Knix6593 can i download the mp3 file of this cover? i'm in love with it aaaaaaa
@@fraustrausssure, just hit me up at my discord (@radioman_126p)
@@Knix6593 Like the one Yu-Peng Chen played at the live stream introduction?
@@sungvinNope, the live symphony version
I love the reference of Shostakovich waltz no.2 in 1:22 ❤
It wasn't intentional but It does sound like a homage lol
@@Knix6593 Hoyoverse really loves to put some interesting details in their own music:)
Wow, it was very unexpected!
Genshin music is such a fun experience, traveling all over the world and taking influences from all sorts of unique inspirations
Very well-done score! With the articulations I can tell where in the piece I am (I watched the concert version of this 4 times) and it keeps the amount of fun the original has
Thank you!
a touhou music channel is the best indicator for the quality- that is, I knew it would be something I'd want to try! Thx for getting me into this song finally~~
No problem!
this so works as solo piano piece! Maybe it's because Chen Yupeng wrote his pieces on piano first? Can totally see this performed at a piano concert as an encore
Oh definitely it works well for piano. If only my arrangement had better writing lol (some parts are quite unreasonable to play)
Fontaine OST and Sinner’s Finale is such a masterpiece from Hoyoverse.
Indeed. Even caught my attention as a non genshin player
Nice to see a video doin good numbers. I’m rootin for the channel ❤
It's only high because it's genshin impact, hue. Thanks for the support however!
this is fucking fire
Thanks!
You did an amazing job transcribing & arranging this, the notes are accurate and melody feels active and so alive here! Well done :)
Anyway, Punten? Are you Sundanese? :o
I come from a Sundanese family, but I'm essentially a full blown city guy ( di jkt dari lahir :v)
Thank you! It's probably my most elaborate transcription to dateb
@@Knix6593 Ahhh I see, actually I live Jakarta too! Nice to meet you Knix, it's nice to know someone from here making some piano arrangements too on UA-cam :)
@@LuzireMusicMaybe we can work together on something one day! Not a lot of Indos do this kind of thing
@@Knix6593 Sure! Just hmu if you need help or has something in mind :)
No way? Jakarta gang?
nice transcription!!! i think ill try playing this sometime this week :')
Wow, I wish you luck! I'm not sure about how practical it is to play, so if you have any issues with it let me know
@@Knix6593 i just tried playing it for the second time today (i forgot about this song for a whole month LMAO) and measures 25-29 is still the hardest part to play for me 😭 trying to do those 16th note chords with either right or left hand is such fast jumps man aaaaaa
also i noticed starting from measure 113 till the end, the musescore sheet is different from the video! i was wondering if that was on purpose? (i liked the video version better so i did that instead woopskdjaskdjan)
@@oonynimmm.113 is a revision i did because those 16th triplets were borderline inhuman LOL (3:4 polyrhythm isn't exactly easy either though). I also touched up mm.25-29 to be more forgiving
Thank you for the feedback, and sorry for the late response
blud just made a masterpiece
No this ain't a masterpiece lmao
I am not musician man but despite the playability, this arrangement is the best imo, especially starting from 3:04, 3:33 the sound is just magnificent @Knix6593
@@тимур_атмосферныйI second this
kniiiiiix! So nice. thx for your work
Thank YOU for your support!
This is really good wow 👍 im impressed by this.
@@Zabbiath thank
Wow, this is suprisingly good!
Thank you! Some parts are pretty crude if I look back at it however... Lol
Fontaine, still the best 💙⚜️💧
@@sparte3488 thankyou!
Almost thought this is the original soundtrack
so great
Thank you!
thankyou!
Thank YOU for listening!
2 months in jus got to 1:46😭😭😭
@@zero_xyz_ oh wow I never thought I'd see someone attempt it
Just amazing!! gonna learn today
Good Luck! Hopefully this arrangement is actually playable by a human being 😅
That’s epic.
Aye thanks!
@@Knix6593 No problem!
1:22
I see furina in bg.....
There is furina indeed, but I set the brightness way too low 😅
@@Knix6593 yeah!😅 its k tho. Clorinde is cool too. 😇
Holy sheetos what did I just heard now? Bro did the impossible possible
Ehh I don't think it's THAT impressive. Glad you like though!
1:22 & 3:46
How do you tell which notes it uses? I can't distinguish them at all even though i played like 8 years of piano 🤣
Several listens to the original version and a little bit of ear training LOL
This was my first time making an orchestra > piano arrangement, so half of it sounds (and plays) awkward. My newer arrangements are a bit better in this regard (e.g my virelai des marees piano arrangement)
@@Knix6593 Yeah, there are places which I think sound weird, but for the most part it sounds exactly like the original👍
great job bro
Thank you!
쳐볼려 하는데 와 진짜 넘 어렵다
Yes it is very hard...
wrong rythmic figures but ok
It's my first time doing this kind of thing, so I can't expect it to be 100% correct lol
@@Knix6593 it is very similar to 3 tranacriptions that there were on youtube already. Ots like you copy pasted but "changed" a little bit to your liking
@@martimbrites68 Those 3 are all transcriptions of Fontaine's Theme Right? They're based off the same source material , so they will sound similar anyway lol
Anyway I don't mind if you think I copy pasted from someone else arrangement. If anything I copy pasted the orchestra parts and adapted it for piano
