This man is as REAL as it GETS!!! Donated 1/4 mil to TN DOC to rehabilitate youth programs & recording studio. My kids mama grew up with J.R. When he came to indy he had backstage passes for my kids!!! They were blown away by taking pics with jellyroll. I admire this man & what he stands for. A true patriot!

@@MrOutPerform not directly no. most crimes are based on poverty which is driven by the economic state of the society which is controlled and managed by the politicians. So when a broke mf decides to rob another broke mf all that could have been solved if we had a rich society that could support everyone. if one man is left out then that man has no choice than to forcefully take from his neighbor and then the neighbor is given no choice but to take from another and that cycle continues. not only is there not enough to go around but these same politicians hoard as much currency as they can and keep it from the masses. then they force us to pay for their next supercar and 3rd vacation house. all the while most of us who actually work to make the money that these politicians play with cant even barely afford our own home without 30 years of hard work and saving.

I'm 57. Heard my youngest Son, 24, listening to "Son Of A Sinner". I went into his room & asked, "Who in the heck is That?" He told me. Had never heard of him.
Love his music, lyrics, voice & what he gives back.
Then I saw him in the Congressional or Senate Hearings, I forget which one.
What he had to say was heartwrenching & moving.
Redemption is a beautiful thing. Much respect & prayers for him & his family.

But his country will have to grow on me, as I stopped listening to radio country MANY years ago… I lean more towards the dark/goth country more. With how much I loved The Charlie Daniel’s Band- Legend of Wooly Swamp, that feeling and mental imagery was so cool to me. I can’t get that with radio country, it’s far too bland, overdone, copy and paste. The ‘newest’ country song I actually enjoyed was Keith Urban- For You, because it was a beautiful song created for the movie, Act of Valor, which was an incredible movie

However being successful in the entertainment biz is actually just being entertaining of course and being in the right place and around the right people. Sometimes that don’t even get you to the top. 30 years ago he wouldn’t have made it. Hell 15 years ago he might not have made it

What’s even more amazing is regular people who do the right thing and never fuck around like he did. He DID get lucky with the music, because most people like him end up dead before they’re 40. People love a story about redemption, sadly way more than they love a story about lifelong righteousness. Actually rappers aren’t talking about giving back to the community they’re talking about putting their community on and that’s a difference! The agenda has always been to destroy certain races don’t debate, Research IT in your own did deep into why ghettos were established, redlining, contel pro, the Real reason for the Black Panthers before they dropped drugs into the community then put a war on drugs, the government liberating women as long as the black man wasn’t in the house because that’s the head! Then giving those same fatherless children rap deals as long as they talk about killing each other to gain temporal riches.. it’s an agenda! Now as far as this man this isn’t that and he’s allowed to give back as you see he’s not drives up like these rappers that realized their price of fame is killing their own in many ways! Jelly Roll it’s always love you’re amazing but people speak on what they do not know and it’s annoying at this point! All of these smart phones… research learn don’t just listen to a bias or make up things! I cannot name a rapper that talks about giving back so please just Stop and give you accolades with Grace sweet pita!

Kevin m, that’s the problem with first impressions, most of the time if you’ll actually take more time to behind the curtain, you’ll find that even “felons “ have a story that put them in the circumstances they found themselves in. He never says he was a saint, he’s just trying to make the lives of those who he can relate to possibly have a better optortunity than he did growing up and not make the same mistakes while there’s time to change.
