    It`s a wise decision of the Vietnamese government for not allowing to build new houses on the rice fields . First they want to keep the gorgeous scenery of this area intact , then to produce more rice to feed the local population

      it'll change...they ruin da lat so they will ruin this place too, it just harder to get here for tourist.

      @@trilingualkid how can you ruin something if it's what attracts the tourist to purposely come to see. It's more beautiful in china, I rather go see china's version than vietnam since your government is too controlling.

      It's actually the government that wanted change and modernize. It's the local ethnic groups that have been preserving the land and their culture for generations. Because of that, it's gained worldwide attention and the Government sees the opportunity to make money through tourism. Because of population growth, of course some sacrifices have to be made. Government and locals working together can keep Vietnam beautiful and profitable.
