      Brian, I thought I had watched all the videos you had made and don't know how I missed this one. Reason being that Black Corvette is the exact twin of mine to the T. And even the issues with the paint are spot on. I realize you are reviewing different products but if you had that exact Corvette in front of you today with the paint in that exact condition what would you choose as for the compound, polish, type of pads in order from compound to finish for the correction. Also compounding use with rotary or could it all be done with DA . As I said previously that Corvette is exactly in every way what I have been throwing money at in products and pads for several months and gotten very little improvement what so ever. The only product I have recently purchased that made me feel I found the holy grail was Sonax CUT MAX, PERFECT FINISH, and the EX04.06 by Sonax. But the sun completely came out and I was fooled. By watching and learning things from you I'm thinking a good compound is important the polisher also but the pad selection ranks a tad bit higher it seems. From your videos I was leaning towards the Lake country low lint pre wash then another video the Ero 50/50 then the Orange foam lake country????? Then I think I need to purchase a rotary and a pure wool pad. I just seem to get confusion from watching all your videos as to exactly what direction to go in so without you reviewing a product what would you have chosen and the steps taken to correct the black Corvette in this video please. Thank you in advance for responding back to this.

    Menzerna is a water-based product. The manufacturers suggest misting some water on your pad before applying and after. Then going over the area again leaving a nice gloss.

    I run a used car business and the HC1000 and HC400 is my go to! Aside from the affordable price, its german made so you know its good and does the job! I prime my wool pad w mckees 914 as this is a pure cleaner and provides lubrication. Work 1 panel at a time and buff of w a damp microfiber w the same n914 solution and top off w a sealant or ceramic. I must have sold more than 100 cars in the 10 years of doing used car trading

    Hey man question, i have the 1000 but when i use it it tends to dry up very quickly, dust alot all over the place and with a towel I cant get it off the panel

    • @marconunez174
      @marconunez174 Місяць тому

      I run a used car business and ive been using the heavy cut 1000 and heavy cut 400 for the longest time… dusting was also my issue but I think its due to the environment I live in (hot and humid). compared to other products the dusting on this is manageable! I also dampen my hyrbid wool pad w mckees n914, work on 1 panel at a time and buff off w a damp microfiber w the n914 solution! Works wonders

    I have a 6 years old car which has never been polished/compound at all except after paint repair at workshop and regular washing and waxing occasionally. I'm about to perform compounding/polishing with Menzerna, which one should I use for my car? 1000+2400+3800 or 400+3800 ?

    Brian, I would like to do something like this on my 2017 F150 it has minor swirl marks. You mentioned that the GM or Chevy Clear is a hard clear coat. What would a F150 clear be considered do you have a specific product combo you would recommend along with a pad combo?

    • @apexdetail85

      A small test area... soft clear will easily cut with a medium to mild polish compared to hard clear where you need a super heavy cut and aggressive cut pad.
