Great setup, Gaston. To me, ARRL Field Day should be about EMCOMM, not a contest setup. Made several dozen contacts on a 5W SDX while helping other operators keep their stations running while outside in the 90+ degree heat.
Hokas are AWESOME! My cousins' wife is a physical therapist and highly recommended them. Then my chiropractor saw them and congratulated me on a smart call. You have my attention. Was not aware of W0ad or APRSDroid. Using a smartphone instead of a computer really reduces the payload and power requirements. Can't wait until an app developer makes a functional android app for JS8Call. Question: Can you use W0AD on HF? Does APRSDroid keep the APRS functionality of sending SMS messages? How does the Digirig lite differ in features compared to the standard version? Your next video will probably touch on these question. Mount the phone on your chest rig to reduce the fiddle factor. I like the direction digital is going with the use of the smartphone. Looking forward to the next video.
