  • Welcome to "Video of the Week"! This time, we explore the breathtaking red sand beach in Maui, Hawaii. Park half a mile away in Hana, as parking can be busy. The hike is steep and not wheelchair-friendly, but the stunning beach view makes it worthwhile. Enjoy the video!

Nice, I lived in Maui for 12 years I heard about this place but never went. Now it's on my bucket list.

Right on good video! Can't wait to get over to Kauai and check Check out the ocean and the trails. I'm sure it'll be just as nice as Maui.

Thanks very much for including in your title the Hawaiian name of the beach. There were reasons that Hawaiians named certain beaches for certain characteristics that are found. It was disheartening to see so many other videos that just named it Red Sand beach, and along with that the many non-Hawaiians that move there, don't use the name as well. They call many local spots a NEW name that THEY decide to call it. You took the time and effort to educate others who come to visit Hawaii. Kai = ocean halulu = roar, thunder, explosion, loud noise, racket.
There was another beach on the Big Island that many of the non-Hawaiians called it Beach 69 which is so insulting to think of a beach as a sexual position, and not the true name given to it by the Hawaiians. Also like how people on YT put up videos on a place on Maui called Venus Pools, WHY? Research and find the REAL name, they should STOP being uneducated, especially if they plan to broadcast it and promote it!
