I'm coming to your school to take CAD, this 26 minute video was far more informative than the three hour lecture my teacher gave us to do this assignment.
Richard Hanks 3hr lecture?! I only got a 30 minute slideshow, which took the class an hour to get through because the teacher kept pausing to help some students with basic stuff.
You're lucky. My professor walked into the lab, gave us the assignment, and walked out. In our entire semester so far (we're less than a month from ending) we have had a grand total of two full lectures on autoCAD.
Mr. Randy you are a true O.G. (Original Gangster) if you don't mind me saying Sir... That is a major compliment from an intercity youth... You really helped me out with this video because there is no way I would have remembered how to do all of this Sir... Thank you again for this video... You are a beautiful man
This was a really great video on auxiliary views! UCS is so much better than SNAP/Rotate; I was able to get the center mark for my circle just right with UCS...I was really struggling before watching. Thanks so much!!
Mr. Kopf, Nice tutorial. I have a couple questions if you're able to respond. I don't have Autocad. I use a competing product. The "fillet" command I'm familiar with is used to put radii on the sharp corners of polygons, rectangles, etc. But you apparently used it to join and trim intersecting lines. Is this something that has always been in Autocad? Or new to the version you use? And can you tell me in more detail HOW the command is used for that purpose? I watched you create the center line for the hole ( front view). You then trimmed the center line so it extended slightly above the angled line representing the sloped surface. How did you do this so quickly? My approach would have been to offset the angled line, and trim to that offset. But you did this without offsetting. Probably some method I failed to pick up in my beginners class. But I wish you'd explain it to me. Thank you for your time.
Best professor I had. Mr. Randy unfortunately passed away a few years ago but his memory and lessons live on!
May his Soul rest in peace. Amen.

An older video that is still relevant today! Thanks so much!
I really like how you do a step by step walk through. You make more sense then a textbook I'm reading out of.
TAUGHT MORE THAN MY PROF IN 4 WEEKS OF LECTURE THANK YOU SO MUCH!

What an awesome teacher! Insanely helpful. So grateful to have discovered these tutorials.
Yes in 6 months that I have been in Autocad classes I have yet to understand anything as well as I have in these 26 minutes Thank you so much!!!!
This was of tremendous help. Thank you, sir!
Thank you. This was infinitely more helpful than my trade school's attempt explain the how-to.
You are very welcome.
Thanks this really helped me in my drafting class
You are the Amazing Randy. Thank you very much.
Great video!
This was a massive help, thanks so much sir 😊 I have a test tomorrow on this section, you really helped me to make sure I understood everything 🥰❤️

Really helpful, thank you so much!

Thanks for explanation really helpful my class
Very glad I could be of help.
good explanation
Sir I have a question.
Do we need to show top too in auxiliary view drawings?
Or only front, side and auxiliary view is enough?
Mr. Kopf,

Thank you Mr. Kopf. I always enjoy learning new ways to speed up my work.
Are you kidding? AutoCad can't do projected views so you must redraw manually?
That's so cumbersome!
+Alagathevictor AutoCAD can use solview and soldraw to create the aux view from 3D
What is the difference between full auxiliary view and partial auxiliary view?
thank you
How do you get the lines to be 2.8 and 2.44, Because i tried and it didnt go to the distance
Thank you
how did you get the PDF file to stay up while you was drawing
Adobe Acrobat has an "always on top" option.
How did you do the dashed lines @17:20
Go to your layers manager, click on the linetype, load in the Hidden line and set it on the hidden lines layer.
