i saw this movie the other day. you have no idea how shocked i was when i remembered the golden globe nominations. She should have gotten one. She has become one of the best actresses of our time.
this movie was great, the acting and costumes were incredible, and the story is so sad and amazing! and keira knightley is phenomenal, she brings so much to all the characters she's played. (and she looks beautiful in this interview ^-^)
Definitely a comparison between Georgiana Duchess of Devonshire and the late Princess Diana ... they are both related and Georgiana was Princess Di's great-great-great-great Aunt.. they both lived a life of loveless marriages, were used for their wombs, were cheated on, betrayed .. truly an epic tragic love story .. Both Raif Fiennes and Kiera Knightley played their roles to perfection!!! The LOVE between Georgiana and Charles Grey was electrifying and just watching their characters you truly got the impression that they passionately loved each other .. they were meant to be together from the beginning as they had an attraction when she was approx. 16 just before her "arranged" marriage to the Duke of Devonshire.
The best movie I've seen her in was Interview with the Vampire. I thought she was amazing in that role, especially considering her age. I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. :) Keira Knightly is definitely a very good actress.
Omg she's only 25 now?! Wow. She's so much more mature and down to earth I swear just by her personality and the way she presents herself I'd thought she was in her mid 30s. XD She's so pretty.
i did not actually like her but in this video she is very sympathetic. I thought she thinks of herself too much, but here she was quite modest and charming. As soon as i have some time i am going to watch this film. By the way she has a beautiful english pronunciation

Grey was 7 years her junior and she was 30/31 when she first noticed him. I really recommend the biography by Ms Foreman to get to know the real Georg-i-ana.
i was wondering about the accent thing. what does it mean when you say she has one of the best accents in the UK. im from the US so i dont understand the difference between english accents. everyone sounds the same to me. hope im not being offensive, im just curious.

The story I think was the major reason. Back then women didn't have rights. It makes you mad to know that women were not treated failry back then. It's a good movie though.
@firubbi I'm not sure, but I think our perception of 13 as unlucky has something to do with the fact that there were 13 people around the table at the Last Supper. But there are probably a few different theories that come from different religions and cultures; I'm too lazy to Google it, lol.

The Duke was a spoiled, selfish, socially awkward, ill mannered looser who enjoyed having two women fight for his attention. Georgiana also gambled away large chunks of his estate due to her insecurity instilled by her mother, and supported by the Duke's preference for Bess. Both leading actors should have read the biography by Amanda Foreman. Keira also doesn't resemble her.
