Thinking about it now, I wanna say that if you or somebody you know has experienced severe trauma that hinders your daily life, please get the help you need.
I just avoid anything that might lead to said action that is related to my trauma, thankfully it is easily enough to conceal under the impression of me being a reserved person
And sometimes the most effective help is someone close you trust.
Thing is it’s very hard opening up to even your closest companions, let alone a psychological professional.
Especially when you’ve tried and failed many times...

I’ve got a friend who reacts very similar to nezu here. Don’t worry, she’s getting help but she has ptsd and whenever someone touches her she freaks out or has a panic attack. She’s getting better but I couldn’t help but think of her while watching

I know it's a headcanon, but I actually think it makes a lot of sense for Nezu to have some trauma like that, afterall he WAS a labrat before he became the Principal of UA, it's even implied that he has a bit of anger towards humanity that he often has to hold back

I assumed that Nezu was a mouse who after alot of testing resulted in him develop his quirk High Specs. I'm just glad he used his quirk to join society and rise above the humans who traumatised him. He's the principle of the greatest school for heroes, i dont think you can have a position higher than that in terms of visual justice and nobility.
I cant fault him for toying with his students during the exam. He has every experience and skill to do it and i think it's a nice therapeutic action.

this is a wonderful and powerful comic to show trauma. trauma isn't something you or any other character can just 'get over'. it's not a mountain they must climb in order to get over and get better. trauma is carried with us, for the rest of our lives. Eri and Nezu have scars from their traumas, both the ones we can see...and the ones they carry in their hearts and minds. they aren't 'okay'...and that's okay.

I love this, he has trouble with touching, unless it's someone he trusts and he is the one doing the touching. Him riding on all mights back is a good indicator of slowly working through it as well

usually if the person with the trauma initiates the contact it's safe for them while unexpected contact is a major no no.

Yeah, it's also that if the traumatized person themselves though someone, they can separate/stop touching the other in an instant. If not, the traumatized person might feel attacked or claustrophobic/cleithrophobic.
(Claustro= the fear of small spaces/being stuck in small spaces.)
(Cleithro= the fear of being trapped, no matter how big the room/environment is)
With their close connection Nezu goes in for contact first to show All Might he trusts the guy
It's usually if its unexpected. If the victim does the touching, they should be fine
As someone with trauma myself, I can tell what he’s going threw and what he has spoken about, he was right about some days being worse than others. Sometimes a lot of memories come back at a specific moment in time for no reason and it just makes the mental state worse than it already was, it can bring someone down and make them feel so not motivated to do anything, makes them feel uncomfortable or even sick, and just sad. Everyone is different though so this doesn’t go for everyone, what I said is based off of my own experiences. 😊

Can't help but love this version of Nezu. From what I've seen in others, it's an act of heroism in itself to hold back that trauma for the sake of another. Part of me wants this to be canon, because I'd be more than happy to trust a guy like this with teaching heroes.

He probably has; Knowing the two are basically inseparable Toshinori would have helped Nezu through panic attacks and calming down from nightmares

This is such a beautiful story (the thing is I have friends who have trauma to the same degree of Nezu and I’m the one they come to for help mainly because I love to listen to them and it helps them to talk about it so this story speaks to me deeply)

Nezus voice is so smoothing for some reason-
The fact that even though being touched, let alone being hugged, is traumatising for Principal Nezu, yet he kept a smile when Eri hugged him was sweet but also sad.
HOLY SH*T That really gives me the feels of his character. Makes me see it as another chapter from the manga and not just some comic.
Notice how Nezu doesn’t like being touched, but by the end he is climbing on Toshinori.
Shows how Toshinori is one of the few people that Nezu trusts with his trauma. Such great friends.

He doesn't like it if he doesn't see it coming, he didn't know that Eri would hug him and he panicked
I would just like to say Nezu is such an under rated character. And this comic just fuels my reasoning for liking him. Not only did he comfort Eri but he was understanding when she hugged him. He didn’t yell at her or push her off, he stayed calm and collected and understanding of why she hugged him. Not to mention how he held in his panic long enough to get out of sight so he didn’t freak Eri out and make her feel worse. That takes a lot of guts and self control, especially with such severe trauma. And I can imagine him actually acting like this if it were to actually happen.
This is done really well, it’s a really good display of how people handle trauma too.
