- Some of you will probably remember this property because I've already done 7 episodes here. Back then I decided not to clean up the backyard and some of the front as it was just too crazy. Well, I've had a change of heart, and I'm back to finish off the whole lot. And when I say this yard is crazy, I mean CRAZY! It's full of blackberries, rubbish, old trees and what's left of the garden beds. To get this property back up to scratch, I would say it going to be quite a few episodes. I'm going to do the best I can here, as the homeowner really needs the help. I'm also going to go back over the work I've done, as I could have done better! I hope you enjoy the episode and stay tuned for the biggest transformation I've ever done - what a challenge! All up, I spent around 13 hours on this episode, including 3 trips to the landfill. Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem to be the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

@snowyperk1588 where I live conduit is used in reference to electrical or cable wires, pvc pipes are used for water and I'm pretty sure copper or brass is used for natural gas, however, I'm not a utilities expert so don't quote me on that. 😅

The hole just needs to be filled up. I also had an issue with my sewer pipe in which over time it started sinking leaving a similar hole like that conduit left behind. Just fill it up. It took me about 20 bags to fill up the hole. But, then my dogs dug it back up 😂, so now I have to go back to filling up their mess. 😅

George you know that whole corner you cleared next to the house should get some landscaping tarp put down and maybe rock to slow the mud runoff from going into the basement area you just cleaned. I love watching you work and help people in need. Sending you much love from the USA.
The only contractor at fault here is the one that left that gaping hole with exposed conduit in it, instead of backfilling it. Maybe during future cleanups, you could fill the hole with the organic matter you collect. It would eventually break down. Mound it up a good foot or so so it has room to settle.
That's a really tidy finish george. There is such a beautiful view beyond with the water and jills. Now the view coming into her home is lovely too.❤

You certainly give it your all. That driveway now looks so good and so different from day one. Your perseverance is to be commended. You just never give up till its the way you want it. That door that goes under the house from the driveway always makes me nervous that anyone can just walk in there. It looks dark and a little unkempt also. Boy that pressure washing really made a difference. That hole in the front needs filled with dirt .A fabulous job well done as usual. Thanks for helping this woman. Hope her son is doing better. I was feeling so happy seeing the flax bush and all the weeds go on that area and the music was so good to chill to that I nearly fell asleep, hahaha. Been doing some gardening myself today, lots of weeding and digging.

I haven't got a clue about that hole with the pipe in it. Maybe someone dug out a large shrub thinking the roots would interfere with the pipe and didn't bother to fill it in. Looks like a broken ankle or leg waiting to happen!
It was soooooo good that you went to all the trouble of removing the ugly gate and tackled those tree branches!!! Whew! 3 hours on just the first one! A+ for persistence!!

It was a lot. Overwhelming at first. I am glad you took the time to attack the driveway again, it does look much better. It's like instead of doing it in sections you have to do it in layers, there is so much to tackle. A bit at a time, and each time it looks so much better. Good job.
