For all those who are unaware, this is Exodus, playing their song Strike Of The Beast. Its typically the set closer and about haldway through the song, they organize a wall of death to coincide with the drum beat dropping. Its amazing, been there and done it!

he was going hard tho. Vocals like this are way harder to learn and pull of than normal singing sadly takes years of training,so i'm always very impressed when people can actually pull them of well
Most people are, actually fairly cool in the pits. No one wants to get really hurt, and most people are empathetic to that. Assholes are out there, of course. Out of the numerous metal shows I've been to, broken fingers and mild concussions aside, I've never gotten seriously hurt in the pits.
Ironically, what I've noticed from going to many many concerts is that, the more mainstream and further from traditional "moshpit" type music you get, the more dangerous it is, which is why you constantly hear of tragedies at rap shows like people getting trampled and shit. People outside of the loop don't understand the unwritten rules and don't really know what to do, so they don't look out for or care about eachother and people get hurt. Generally speaking, at metal/metalcore/pop punk/etc shows there's just a universal sort of understanding that if someone so much as loses their balance you stop what youre doing and PICK THEM THE FUCK UP IMMEDIATELY and make sure they're fine before you continue. From my many shows I've never once been hurt or seen someone else get hurt in a pit, or even fall for more than a couple seconds. Of course it happens, but when there's that tight-knit sense of community and understand of the "rules", it's safer and more fun than you'd expect.
It was 81 or 82 and Black Flag was playing in San Diego with Henry for the first time. There were local news cameras doing a hate peice about the SD hardore scene. Once the light on the camera went on during Revenge, everyone in the place (maybe 350?) started slamming it was the most amazing thing ever.
Murauda first time in Atlanta they moshed to one of his songs and I was literally thrown back into the pit like 4 times in a row. Felt like I was gonna drown in the pits 😂
Doubt it. Was at a Korn concert in Atlanta years ago. Opening up with Blind and arrrrree youuuuu readdddyyy popped off and thousands went ham like that. Two ppl died. Been to 100 plus concerts. That's was the wildest.

*The Hard Ons* final ever gig when they were support for *Rollins Band.* People were being ping ponged back and forth _over_ the crowd, and it was one of my first ever mosh pit gigs (as a skinny teenager), so *I didn't know what the Wall of Death was....* _and got steamrolled in the first one._ Under a pile of bodies I just wiggled my hand through and someone _strong_ grabbed it and yanked me clean out of the scrum as the self appointed rescue crew got everyone back on their feet ready for the next wave... which came soon. There were regular Walls of Death because it was The Hard Ons farewell gig and the dedicated fans wanted to go hard and give them a great send off. And when the Walls collided the lighter runners (such as skinny kids who did taekwondo...) would get launched into the air and land on top of the crowd _if they timed their jump right._ [So Taekwondo can be useful for defence ?!!?] By the time Rollins came on the crowd was already nicely pummelled, apparently Rollins had been watching (he liked the Hard Ons and even did a music video with them covering a ACDC classic) and enjoyed the spectacle. But the mosh for Rollins was more tame, it was The Hard Ons gig that fans had planned to give their all for. Only I hadn't gotten that memo, still it was self evident soon enough. Although during Rollins the crowd did part at one point for a security 'gorilla' (his neck was theoretical - we knew he must have one but no one could see it for his shoulder muscles) dragging an unconscious naked bloody man by his foot. BTW the gig was inside a building, so the lighting was non existent except for the stage lights, so all this was happening in random lighting. Sometimes you could see fine, the next second almost pitch darkness. And the toilets during the interval between The Hard Ons had a couple of older hard men Punks (with prison tattoos in the mix) at the basin, checking their teeth because one had just had his front teeth broken. [Which is why I then added a mouth guard to my mosh pit kit - along with hockey shin guards]. When I got home I discovered a large army boot print on my chest in purple that I didn't remember getting, but the skin underneath also had bruising that matched the outline and took a while to fade. Bit of breathing issues for a week but nothing too bad. But considering I saw a number of ambulances loading up after the gig, I got off lightly.
I'm 160cm and female and I've been in mosh pits at festivals and concerts. I've been in like 5 and in 3 of them I've fallen down, once I lost my shoe 😂 It's really scary and I won't do it again, although people would always help me get up. Still not worth it. Also mosh pits are mainly big strong men like 1,80-1,90cm, I don't have a chance.
Emmure when they did the “Wall of Life” and people were just climbing over top of each other. If you didn’t climb, you got trampled. Think Black Friday door buster sale with a soundtrack. Looking back it was extremely dangerous
Staind. December 2000. Show was at the Worcester Palladium with Sevendust and Megadeth. Let me tell you something about those Staind pits from those days. We almost didn’t make it out.
Pennywise the whole crowd was people in their 20s and 30s and were not fcking around. Iv been to a lot of metal concerts but that's the only time iv feared I was going to die.
Not a mosh pit, wall of death! ❤

When Travis Scott started playing fein I was cooked asf
Left the the wall of death beaten but unbroken
Ozzfest when Slipknot played Wait and bleed for the first time. Talk about insane.
slipknot moshpits are kinda surprising honestly
Real mosh pit does not dance around in one direction. A REAL mosh pit, there is no direction just like a swarm of bees.
Be cooler if dude didn’t sound like Beavis turning into Cornholio looking for TP for his bunghole
Slipknot at Sonic Temple just last night was pretty insane , not enough room to even breath let alone fall down 😂
omg i was there bro i was unfortunately watching from the stands looked awesome though
Wasn't in it, but I was on the edge of a Slayer pit in a smaller venue once. That's the definition of intense.
Looks like a riot to me
They not even listening to the music anymore 😭
I was once in a mosh pit and saw a guy with a hook for a hand...
