1976 Subaru Project - Video #1

This is my 1976 Subaru 4x4 Wagon.
Bought in 2004 I have now decided I want to get it back to a respectable condition to take into the Bay to Birdwood in 2026 if not earlier. 2026 will be it's 50th Birthday.

First up, I am not a mechanic. I know only a small amount about cars. I have a Certificate iii in Automotive servicing but never worked as a mechanic. All major mechanical work will be done by my mechanic. A lot of the work you will see me do on this car will be based on my knowledge and the research I will be doing as I want to do a lot of the restoration myself.

Did u also put in some engine treatment oil or engjne flush oil?

No, after a bit of research I found its best to just keep dropping and replacing the oil a few times. In older cars like this one if you use chemicals to clean the engine it will break down the sludge that is actually acting as a seal on possible leaks.
