How to Bank fish with a Senko on a new lake

- I go through the ABC's that I recommend for the best way to bank fish with a Senko on a strange Lake! Counting down, to determine the pattern depth, holding a high rod for the maximum feel of the bottom and the strikes, a quick hook set so as to not gut hook the bass, hooking the senko backwards for an extra fish or two and starting out at the dam in the deeper water by the overflow are all key recommendations that I believe an effective bank fisherman should master!

Roland caught more bass in one video than what I caught in the whole year

Hard to believe Mr. Martin is 81 years old. Speaks to the power of doing what you love for a living. Cheers and thanks for the tips.
I figured 73
Looks and acts 20 years younger
@@subterfusion4005 I agree
I would say he was 65 but i know hes 81..lol. Its thats Florida fishing life
I just started watching him and did not know he was 81, crazy I thought he was mid to late 60’s. Looks like he’s got another 20-30 years in him
"Itsa 3 4 5 pounder".....spoken like a true fisherman.
My car's a 66-67-68 Mustang
Roland is definitely the best
Great bass size...3 4 5 / Great ole Chevy...5 6 7
I've caught a lot of 1-2-3-4-5 pounders in my day...
@@samfiadrangus9188 he may be aging (aren't we all?) but the man is a treasure and taught me more about fishing than any other angler from my childhood. He's great, if you like Roland's content you'll most likely enjoy Richard Gene the fishing machine, (ua-cam.com/users/RichardGeneTheFishingMachine) imo. His videos are extremely entertaining 😂. I think Richard fits into the group of great fisherman who can still out fish 98% of the population.
I love watching him fish. He has probably forgotten more about bass fishing than all of us in these comments know about bass fishing. A true legend and a true master.
I FULLY agree with you! Watching him has made me a far better bass angler i ever would have been without his advice. The senko/yum dinger has become my favourite lure. His advice work anywhere in the world, even here in South Africa.
Roland is probably my favorite bass fisherman. Just so positive and calm the whole time.
Can watch and listen to Mr Roland talk about fish and catch fish all day long! His knowledge on bass fishing is amazing!
It’s satisfying to me how much he knows and loves to bass fish
A absolute legend. I remember being 9 years old and sitting cross legged in front of a big floor model tv Saturday mornings ESPN to watch him catch big bass. I'm 38 now and he's still at it.
I remember the same thing! I loved ESPN outdoors. I loved watching the guys catch pike and muskies. I’m from the south and we didn’t have those fish to catch, only bass, catfish and bluegill. I was always fascinated with bass fishing despite living right on the ocean in Va. Beach with outer banks only half hour away. My old man was a hard core salt guy. Sure we caught lots of huge striper and fluke and then off shore we’d catch tons and tons of mahi, by my heart was always fishing in the swamps and ponds for bass.
Edit to add: I was born in ‘83. We were lucky to be born at the time we did.
roland makes it look easy. catches more bass in one video than i did the whole year of bass fishing
just a pocket of senko's is all he needs. We can all learn from this man...
Those senkos are honestly clutch. Caught four the last time out. Got two that were atleast 4 pounders
His voice and demeanor is so peaceful and comforting
Roland you should have 139 million subscribers not 139K. You're a true legend. Thank you for everything you've done for the sport of fishing!
This guy is the grandpa I never had to teach me old wise fish tricks lol absolutely love it!!
It’s like catching fish in a bathtub! I wish I had “strange” lakes in my area. 😂. Great to see Roland shoreline fishing! 👍🏼
kind of. he told you how to find the fish easy. the dam. especially if water is flowing there also.
2years ago I got my first Senko bass thanks to Roland and his tips. Now days I like trying other lures but if I think I’m getting skunk for the day I always turn back to Senko. It never fails even if is just a tiny one a fish is a fish lol
So much fun watching a living legend just out having a good time doing what he loves!
On the bank or in a boat, Mr. Martin you are the the GOAT of bass fishing in my opinion. I catch more bass from the bank using the senko and only the senko because I watched your videos. Thanks a million.
Mans was having so much fun😂 you could see how happy he was after catching each fish, that’s awesome to see.
Roland, you don't go fishing, you go catching. Holy hell man
I am 72 years old and it is nice to have someone teach you something about fishing. I have wet a hook all my life but never really knew what I was doing right or wrong.
Mr. R
I've never seen anyone bury the barb of the hook slightly under the worm. I've always seen the barb put thru the bottom of the worm then back up and bury the barb into the top of the worm. His way seemed like such an easy method just plant of the barb into the bottom no need to go up and thru. The worm lays super flat where as the other method you do have to play with it a little. Hope I made sense, thanks Mr. Martin always watch you when I see you. You are the KING of bass fishing!
I saw another youtuber do the way this guy does it . I like this way better. the hook comes out of the worm at the strike. When you barely bury it the old way it comes out to easy I think.
I’ve learned so much watching you Mr. Martin! Thank you for teaching me.
Hi Roland,
I decided to try this senko rig today. Found some shallow areas just like you did and used your same technique. Caught a nice 2.5 pounder! Thank you for your videos.
Thank you Roland for the tips you are one amazing Gentlemen.🙏🏼✌🏼🎣🎣
Love the info Roland! Keep them videos coming thank you sir!
Grew up watching Roland Martin fishing shows on TV. No idea he was on UA-cam with new content. Martin, Dance, Houston - those were the good old days.
Awesome, Roland! Another amazing day on the lake.
I love watching Roland Martin and his son Scott
How many fish have you caught in your life and you still get so excited when you reel the next one in. I watched you on TV for years and it's great to find you again on UA-cam.
Thank you Mr. Martin for your entertaining and helpful videos 👍😎. I really enjoy your style of things and valuable tips gathered over many years of fishing. I hope you continue to post videos for years to come.
This guy is awesome. So full of wisdom and passion. Thanks for the video!
Ty Mr Martin for your videos I started bass fishing 🎣 because of you I live in FL from NY never 🐠 before
The only pro angler that has made fishing look easy since I was a child. Always teaching too.
Mr. Martin, I ALWAYS learn from your how-to videos. Thank you so much! Today you taught me that I have all the right gear to go hook 'em and the best way to hooksett 'em. It doesn't get any better than that! If someone asks me, "Who taught you how to do that? That really works!" I'm going to proudly say, "Roland Martin did!" 👍 Yes, true enought 😊🥰.
Roland is incredible. 81? Ha ha dude out fishes most people a lot younger. He spends so much time doing the things he loves fishing, family and work. He has been a class for over 40yrs that I have been fishing
Thanks for the enthusiasm! Liked at the beginning you were staring at bank wanting to wade in abit. Yep 👍 nice boots!
I'm a better senko fisherman because of this man...love the senko videos Mr martin thank you
Glad to see you’re still able to do what you like to do
Such a wonderful human being your videos are so filled with great information
I am loving the great videos Roland! Keep them coming sir! God bless! 🎣

Hello from Indiantown. Keep them coming Roland. Watched you my whole life.
It fun to watch your videos. No matter what size of the fish your excitement is always like it’s the first time. Thank you for sharing your love of fishing with us all. God bless and stay safe
I used some of these simple tips to catch my new PB!
Thanks Roland !

You truly are the master of bass fishing. It's amazing how many you caught just off the bat. Great job an god bless. Thanks for the info
I love fishing with Senko’s. You can fish them so many ways. Keep the content coming Roland!
Just learning bass fishing, using a bait caster and bank fishing ponds in central FL after living in New England. Your videos are the most helpful, educational, entertaining and all around fun on UA-cam. Thank you!!!!
Great video Roland
such a joy to watch you and your son fish.
Roland, you are the best, I can't believe I have watching you on TV for 30 years!!!!
Snice I stared using senkos this year .. unbelievable results !! thanks Roland
Great tips Mr Martin I'm definitely gonna use them.....Thanks!!!!!😁😁
Love to see the excitement in your face even after catching thousands of fish.
Thank you mr Martin for what you have done for bass fishing god bless you
Thanks for taking us along - I been doing more journey stuff too
Love this post. Thank you. My very first bass was caught on a plain purple plastic worm with a light slip sinker. Didn't have scales to weight it but it probably went about 4LBS. It was in a farm pond near my home. Oh, I grew up watching Roland Martin and Bill Dance. Love these guys.
Sir you are truly senko master.. keep going fishing sir enjoy your content very much ..you not say much but you technique it's golden you make it look so easy
Good to see you fishing in any conditions. Great capture filming a large fish along
with the smaller one. It took me awhile to feel a bass pecking on the lure. Glad to see you enjoy catching a one pound
bass or a ten pound bass. Always fun to catch a Big O.
As most fish off the rocks and dirt, I appreciate how you show the 85 percent how to catch fish 😊
Thank you Roland!!! You are a national treasure!!!
Learned a bunch today Roland! Thanks!
True OG! Watch and learn. Awesome video
We watched RM in a video about the green pumpkin Senko in February. I never fished a Senko before. Since mid Feb here in central Texas on clear water lakes I have caught more bass than in the past 3 years. They really do work great! God bless Roland Martin!
Thanks Roland for years of fishing advice
It's fun wactching Mr. Martin fishing ..!
I was never into plastic baits but I recently caught my PB on a Bandito Bug
Bugs are my favorite. Strike king structure bug is pretty good too
Gotta love the bugs 🕷!!!
Anything that is green pumpkin works great. I personal love senkos but lately crank baits have been working better for some reason. The shiner crank baits, bass can’t stand them !
Absolute Legend, and like a kid every time he hooks one. 🐐
Growing up in CA I used to watch Roland Martin on T.V. At that time I was a regular Saltwater fish man and never perfected the art of freshwater fishing. March of 2020 my family and I moved to MI and I began working on my freshwater game. Roland Martin videos on UA-cam have really given me insight. I am now 54 and have my 15 year old son hooked as well. Catching 2-3 lb Bass from shore pretty regular now. Thank you Roland for sharing your insight. Hoping to learn alot more from you!
I’ll tell you what, a three pound bass really puts up a good fight. I recently found a creek that is loaded with small mouth. Now there is a fun fish to catch.
Been watching you since a kid God bless from Albany Ny
Roland Martin, the true professional bassmaster for years.....AWESOME Roland, thank you for the tips.
Awesome job as always sir. Lord's willing I will teach my wife how to fish a baitcaster this year.
It amazes me how you remember all of the numbers of the worms colors
Roland man Sweet!! From all your videos i watch that Senko-s are just awesome!.... gonna get me some of em... and watching your melt and remold the broken ones is just how to do it.. thanks < J
Been watching since I was a kid love his show
Thanks for the tips sir!
Roland is a great ambassador of the sport and a master bass fisherman. Not to mention funny as hell
That third hook up was straight fire 🔥
I have been bank fishing a sinko since I was ten and I love the bait in general bank fishing is the best way to use a sinko on my home lake
one of my favorite fisherman.. every sunday watching Rolan martin with coors on the side i remember when he lost a huge fish holding for cámara great videos…
Wow 81? “Look at this guy” he’s amazing.. god bless
Look at this guy.look at this guy81 years old..look. Son..hes the greatest. Love u roland.
Hey Roland you the man. Next week that spot will be fished out. LOL
Roland: put Senko on, cast it, catch 5 pounder, repeat. Legend.
Good tips as usual.
I’ve been watching your videos for years and learned a lot. Keep doing what you’re doing and take care.
I like how you get them unhooked and back in the water - none of that draggin em all over the bank, waiving em in front of the camera for mug shots...its in and out.
Thanks Roland
He has probably caught more bass than any man alive on the planet. Showboating isn't really his thing any more.
@@wnchstrman You are spot on about that! What I wonder is why is showboating everyone else’s thing?
@@dahutful seems like generally we like to show people what we’ve done. I guess it’s a sense of accomplishment, like when a cat brings it’s owner dead animals lol
Was on the fence about fishing today but now I'm determined to go catch a few from the bank and get some exercise. lol
Update.. I actually did go fishing and on a greenish watermelon senko I got a 1.9 and a 2.4 Oz smallmouth I've been neglecting my stick baits.
True legend full of knowledge
When Roland pulls a bag of senkos out, it’s a good day.
Sets the hook so dang hard haha, great fishing
Tks for the tips goodfather
Looks like a beautiful spot btw
Love watching Roland set the hook
awesome vid! i learned a lot
Your a legend roland, the TRUTH
Mr Martin is a beast!
The Goat 🐐 🎣
Wow, a big fish going after a small fish! Never seen that! :)
