@uptonfilms95 sonically he does some stuff for me that nobody else does. Gotta admit things like Poland are pretty silly but unique. I don't disagree about the lyrics. They're really gross sometimes. It's always some nasty horny shit that just makes me cringe.

Man that walkout at 17:17 is so legendary. Gets me hype every time. I slept on Yachty *until* he dropped Let's Start Here and that's been in my Top 5 all year. I've been steady working back through his catalogue, but he nailed it with that one. Hope we see a lot more from him.

Another banger, Patrick. These days, I couldn’t name a single song, outside of knowing lyrics and all, bc the scene is just tsunami saturated but what I can do is appreciate hard work, sick drive and natural talent esp when combined with a laid back vibe and straight heart. Yachty isn’t just “another SoundCloud, lazy mumble rapper”. The kid is uber talented and hustles like no other. Maybe one day I’ll learn a few of his bars. @@t4d0W I'm not disagreeing with that I'm disagreeing with WHY he was able to endure I'm claiming versatility as the main factor
I've been a huge Yachty fan since 2016 and it's been so cool to see him prosper. Of course I was initially drawn to him from the music but his personality and him just being his unapologetic self really helped turn me from just a listener into a loyal supporter. I still remember people saying that he wouldn't make it and he would never be known as more than a soundcloud/mumble rapper lol. It's great to see someone succeed that truly deserves it. Music is subjective so I get that not everyone likes his music but its impossible to hate on him as a person.
True but i loved his sprite commercial, "Cold like a Sprite soda, cold like a Sprite soda" lol so catchy
His song Minnesota help inspiried to it.
Sprite 😟
I think what really helps him too, is that he just comes across like a funny and likeable dude. Not a fan of his music, but I’m a fan of him as a person
Fr. His music is alright, definitely improving, but his personality is really great. Super humble and chill,
Same. I only like his psychedelic rock songs but he seems to be a nice guy and he's funny especially that laugh😂
I love when shit like this happens. He seems like a good guy I’m glad everything’s working out for him. He earned it.
i always respect when an artist steps out of their comfort zone to try something more creative, it shows growth as an artist. When you ride one wave and then branch off to start your own, it takes serious creativity and its a huge risk. so even if i dont like it, I cant help but respect it.
Yachty still trash bruh, that one album he made this year don't justify him at all. Ok he tried something different this year, but everything before that was terrible. Now you don't have crazy bars or bars at all to make great music but is overall artistry still sucks. He needs to make a shit ton more "great" music and keep evolving to fully justify where he stands. And calling a GOAT rapper overrated when you can't even freestyle is just fucking retarded and hypocritical, he's contradicting
i love your video essays, you cover interesting topics and give a whole new perspective to all kinds of people in all kinds of industries- very entertaining. keep it up man you're doing great!
So happy someone documented this man’s rise & gave the praise his let’s start here album
I dont even hate the guy and for some reason, i cant hate him. He's on grind and the fact he pushed so many young talents to the scene is actually the best part from him.
For real it’s hard to hate a person that’s so overly optimistic idk how some people can do it
@@steveharveysmustache3988it's not as hard as you think. Stop giving a f*** about anybody else that has nothing to do with your life and then you realize how s*** I don't need to worry about all these people and f*** the world. It's really not hard

I love how he didn't give up after his albums flopped thats the spirit never give up!!!
i met him in jan 2020, he was the coolest and most chill dude. this video gave me a new appreciation for him.
Lil Boat da Goat of chillin
So glad you did this video. Yachty has always been on of my faves. He's always been genuine and can tell he just wants to have fun.
Respect his hustle and honesty, not every day do you see a man in his status be so open about his business, he also keeps respect during serious conversations.
@ 6:34 lil boat look like he ready to say something in a Jamaican 😂😂😂
My respect for him has always been there. Especially with his recent album though. The fact that if he wanted to take it seriously he can and drop a genuinely amazing album, yet chooses to make music when he wants and at his own pace with his enjoyment at the forefront is... nice. Like, for real, its nice to know theres at least 1 guy who says "i do it for me"
I really don’t understand how people think his music is good. Even with the latest album. Let’s Start Here is just experimental and the production is great but Yatchy performance on that album was not good. Not vocally. Not lyrically.
@uptonfilms95 sonically he does some stuff for me that nobody else does. Gotta admit things like Poland are pretty silly but unique. I don't disagree about the lyrics. They're really gross sometimes. It's always some nasty horny shit that just makes me cringe.
@@uptonfilms95listen to drive u crazy. He did great 👍🏽 if you can't hear it I think there is bias involved
@@hobosnake1his music is bad rap music, I think he really boxed himself in early in his career by calling himself “Lil” because if that’s in your name you’re going to be associated with rap by default. First yachty song I heard I was really confused because even though it doesn’t sound bad, he’s not a good rapper. And it’s not good rap music. If that makes sense?
some cringe ass responses to this comment
Lil Boat transitioned into Big Yachty. From a soundcloud rapper to one of the biggest names in hip hop at the moment. Big up Yachty.
I wasn't too into him back when he was blowing up, but definitely gonna check out his music again! Love seeing artists take their music in a new direction and makes me respect them even more as an artist.
This videos doing numbers right now. Congratulations Pat you definitely deserve it! 💯
I don’t know why but I felt when he said “don’t hype me up cause the next bar has to be better” 🤣🤣🤣
Yatchy’s sprite soda commercial will always be a highlight for me!
That 2016 class cypher was low-key one of the best ones because their chemistry was crazy. Lyrically it wasn't all that but Denzel but they had the best chemistry out of every other cypher
I'll forever respect him based on the rock album he dropped. Who does that? It's raw at times, but it's a genuinely good album. Also, Poland, if you don't like that you're dead inside.
Let's Start Here is such a good album.

Yachty is a great and talented artist. He has never been afraid to be unapologetically himself no matter how much hate it brought him. He has made so many hits and let’s be honest, let’s start here was an absolutely amazing album . Something no one else in the hip hop industry could have pulled out 💪
XXL 2016 was golden. Never a better line up
u serious?
@@sonofgotham3696 imo yee, what year you thinkin? Again this is XXL, I know there are much better artists. But the line up for the time...
I don't have a favorite year. I just remember this being the decline of hip hop for me. One of the worst freestyles ever imo. And it stained hip hop for years. We haven't moved that far past this and it's 2023. A lot of folks tapped out. Once the bar was set this low hip hop changed for the worst, imo.

He may have felt like a novelty when he first appeared, but based off his latest performance of his latest single, he seems to have grown into an actual artist. Good for him 🙌🏽
The lineup that 2016 XXL had was something else man
He did not fall off that line at 11:17 was mad reference nice choice of words and that why this j cole album tittle is one of my most anticipated 🤝
Yo I'm loving the rap content, keep up the grind !!!
I know I'm late but just wanted to say i was happy to see you did include From The D To The A as one of his best songs...although it was a feature w/Tee Grizzley. That was my first time hearing Yachty. I didn't understand at the time why the people were saying ish like that was the hardest they ever heard him spit b4. But now i do. Their collaboration 2 Vaults was also good, i thought. I also know he is mad intelligent and writes songs for others, as well. Great video.
honestly yachty saying he doesn’t care is just a flex on the other rappers, he outshines so many without even trying 😂
Just based off of the amount of views this has after only 6hrs, its safe to say the grind yachtys' been on this year is paying off. No matter what media platform you use, his presence is undeniable . Dudes gotta be one of the most viral artists of 2023.
That walkout and love from the fans had to feel incredible after his relentless effort for years
imagine being known for not rapping, and then going viral for doing a basic walkout to your industry plant opener at someone esles show
I was never a Yachty fan. Some songs I could bounce to but I just didn’t care to listen. My boyfriend had me sit down and listen to the entirety of Let’s Start Here and I loved it sooo much 😭 So glad he has the ability to put his soul out there for everyone to hear. It takes a lot to stand out and he has the perfect balance of his own artistic uniqueness and not trying to hard to be different.
This.
Let's Start Here is so fucking ambitious. I do not like any of his earlier shit but it's so hard not to absolutely love the style shift and ambition he's shown this year. Black Seminole in particular is just leaps and bounds above most mainstream rappers dabbles into combining Rock with whatever they do

It’s crazy how you told the story as it is, dissing and yet praising Lil Boat. To me he’s a good rapper when he wants to be, otherwise he’s kinda a funny rapper. Not my style of rapper, but been there since the beginning.
Great video, Patrick. 🙌🏼
"i took the wooooooookkkkkk to poland"
As one of those teens who was listening to Yachty as the up-and-coming rapper, I want to say you perfectly captured the rollercoaster of emotions it has been watching Lil Yachty's career. Good stuff Patrick, you never fail to impress me!
Man that walkout at 17:17 is so legendary. Gets me hype every time. I slept on Yachty *until* he dropped Let's Start Here and that's been in my Top 5 all year. I've been steady working back through his catalogue, but he nailed it with that one. Hope we see a lot more from him.
Jesus Loves you so much! You may not think it but there is a reason you’re seeing this. He wants you to know Him so you Two can have a Relationship:)!!!!
I get chills at that walk out and didn't even know until now that I mess wit the dude like that.
I gotta say I was a Lil Yachty hater but he’s gained my respect even if I don’t necessarily like his music I can respect the grind
2:20 damn Uzi looks like he came from the shire 🤣
Another banger, Patrick. These days, I couldn’t name a single song, outside of knowing lyrics and all, bc the scene is just tsunami saturated but what I can do is appreciate hard work, sick drive and natural talent esp when combined with a laid back vibe and straight heart. Yachty isn’t just “another SoundCloud, lazy mumble rapper”. The kid is uber talented and hustles like no other. Maybe one day I’ll learn a few of his bars. But really, I’ll most likely stick to respecting from afar. Big ups for all you do to keep us educated, entertained and above all else; hydrated 💦
He put everyone on his close friends story today 😭
This video single handily got me listening to Lil Yachty and now he’s one of my favorites. I really respect the dude Frl can’t wait to see him at a show
Best video!!! I have been internally having this conversation in my head for months now. And you told the story perfectly. Shout out to yatchy he truly fought for his place in the game! And stayed original
Hes a goof ball who enjoys making songs. Everybody always needs something to be mad at. 🤷♂️♥️ Not every artist needs to be an OG, super serious, holding down the ground kinda artist...
Its honestly annoying af how much people hate on him. He literally is proving a point and most dont get it. Life dont have to always be 100% serious in every area... Dudes in it to enjoy HIMSELF. F* the rest of us... 🤷♂️♥️
Of course not everyone needs to conform, and individuality and pioneering spirit is great. What isn't great is talking shit about the people that built the culture for you to experiment in, for being a disrespectful little ass who has no understanding or context or knowledge about the world he's living in. That's the problem with kids today in general
That’s why bro makin like crazy new music now. With more vocals and deeper meanin
This made me a yachty fan. You two should collab. I hadn't heard the man speak in any interviews and this made me really respect the dudes character.
I just saw yachty on the field trip tour. I think boat is finally taking the music seriously, and his craft. He might not take the fame and the game serious, but what he did on let’s start here is nothing short of inspired. Definitely one of my favorite albums of the year.
Everytime one of your videos comes on I want to switch it off... not because it's bad but it's not my style... But shortly... after the first minute or so... I'm locked in, it just gets so interesting... it happens everytime.

I've never heard anyone say "Put some little Yachty on!" LOL.
The people in charge decide who to promote and who's gonna make it. Not the listeners.
I'm a 90s kid though so I grew up with good music and understand that kids these days know no better or are into different type music. Fair enough
as someone who wants to be a rapper seeing him mess up while free styling and stuff is real
