It Amazes me how Musically Talented each Member of Band Maid is. And their Phenomenal Talent isn't just in their Music but in each one of them is their Heart and Souls and are given to us their Masters and Princesses. I've been a Maidiac since the release of their song Thrill on UA-cam. Too put it bluntly these ladies have brought Rock back and I will be Forever Thankful for Band Maid bringing it back to us. Always with Love and Respect to These Beautifully Talented Ladies
Any band would consider themselves blessed to have a member so talented they're as rare as a unicorn, BAND-MAID has five musical unicorns and we're all the better for it, what a fcken band Po 👍🍻
I was about to start listing Band/Maid songs that have great guitar solos for you but then I realized the list would be about 100+ songs long 😂. Solos that give you chills or make you feel emotional or just amazed at their engaging creativity and are perfect for the song are abundant in the Band-Maid catalog.
Bring your Dad on and do a Band-Maid song with him.....that'd be cool! The best place to start and journey is at the beginning. React to their 2014 song "Thrill" it's the song that saved them from obscurity. If that song/video didn't make it Band-Maid was doomed and we wouldn't be here enjoying them. Don't do the Live version, has to be the Official music video. Watch the LIVE version later.
After you do the live suggestions, try the MV for Influencer. It ticks off the most genres, but is put together seamlessly. Amazing song that only they could pull off in my opinion.
Kanami is our favorite six string samurai! Her solos are usually short but sweet; not playing a lot of notes to show off, just exactly what the song needs. Also, she is the most talented composer I've ever seen.
Glad to see you returning to Band-Maid. There's no wrong way to go through their catalog. I just started checking out songs I thought sounded cool or reactors I liked had done. Some reactors have gone chronological to see and hear the band's evolution, but I don't think most of the Maidiacs care how you listen as long as you're checking out our Maids. If you want some emotional songs, the ones that always get to me are- Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable and the live video of Endless Story.
I'm an old dude mid-fifties. And these young Ladies have reinvigorated my love of music. Before Band-Maid, I would listen basically to the same 5-6 bands on repeat. RUSH, Styx, The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones maybe a few others. Yet when I found these Ladies, I was wondering just what other good music I was missing. So I have been exploring music from all over the world and finding dozens and dozens of new to me bands to listen to and enjoy. And I and many others would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have abut the Ladies of Band-Maid. And I think this is only my second or third shoutout. :) And you are in good company, MISA the bassist also plays the trumpet, the Alto Horn, Piano, and Electric Guitar. She was playing trumpet in the school band and electric guitar in a school club band, when a friend asked her to play bass in his band. She had never played before, but tried it and fell in love with it. She later went to the Tokyo School of music, first for sound engineering, but later switched to the Bass Guitar program. She and Akane, the drummer were classmates, and worked several jobs together through the school. Yup, The Netflix Anime outro music for Kengan Ashura. Kanami the Lead Guitarist, started off shortly before her 4th birthday on piano, and played piano all through high school when she joined a friends band as a keyboard player. She later picked up the guitar because she wanted to look "Cool" to the other girls in her class. She later decided she wanted to be a singer/songwriter, but her parent insisted she go to a regular college and get a degree. So she got a degree in economics and management. While still continuing with both guitar and singing lessons. Even though she doesn't like to sing. And what many other musicians find mind-blowing is that while Kanami has been playing piano for almost 28 years, she has only been playing guitar for 14 years, and just how good she is and was earlier in her career is even more mind-blowing. I don't think you're throwing shade, many people whose only experience with the Japanese language is through anime, so of course there will be many people making the familiar connection between the two. Some people may get bent out of shape, just ignore them and keep enjoying the Ladies music. Now I have a small challenge for you. At the end of this song Saiki takes a inhaled breath. The Ladies have another song where they do the same. "Unfair Game" which has the LONGEST Kanami solo currently. Now here is the challenge. Open two windows, in one window have Shambles cued up and ready to play, in the other, go to the Ladies UA-cam channel, click on "Releases", scroll down to "YOLO", click on it, when it opens, click on "Unfair Game". Once both pages are loaded, click play on "Shambles", watch/listen to Shambles, as SOON as you hear Saiki, take the breath at the end of Shambles, click over to "Unfair Game" and click play. Listen and WIN!!!! Then tell us what you think of the synergy of the two songs when presented that way.
Crying song? Endless Story live at Yokoyama Arena. Smile song? Well, there's Smile, but I'd go with Freedom live. Anger song? Hate? live. Spicy song? Don't Let Me Down OMV. Best song with insane guitar solos (yes, soloS)? Blooming OMV.
I discovered them a year and a half ago while looking for some new metal to listen to. Since then I've seen them live twice and still search for concert footage I've not seen yet.

It's good to broaden your horizons in every aspect of life, music is a good one. New groups, sounds, styles and feelings come from what you listen to. BAND MAID has a wide range of music to choose from. A good example would be PUZZLE - 2 different versions of the same song. These are not the only ones there are many more to choose from. Both of these are live! Acoustic version - ua-cam.com/video/ayJtzPkgZTc/v-deo.html - Rock version - ua-cam.com/video/zvuqmSQEnaA/v-deo.html more suggestions would be: BLOOMING - ua-cam.com/video/uUt_JBMocKM/v-deo.html Daydreaming - ua-cam.com/video/RCaeUkrItyY/v-deo.html MIKU is the backup singer - she was the original singer and originator of the band (It was her idea for this band) and she (MIKU) decided that there needed to be a stronger singer. It is her signature guitar. KANAMI is the lead guitarist she plays PRS Custom 24. KANAMI writes the basic music and then MISA (BASS) and AKANE (DRUMS) add their input for a final song. SAIKI and MIKU both write the lyrics. Here is an older interview, from Japan TV that you might enjoy. MIKU: It's a Miracle! SAIKI: That's right!
Welcome back! I have some good news, there is no way to do this wrong. No need to stress or worry. It’s going to be fun, relax, kick back, and enjoy the ride. We are happy to suggest different songs, if you want specific types of music (classic rock, punkish, ballady, etc) let us know, but you can also just go to their UA-cam and pick a video. It’ll be a great song. Also, don’t worry if you don’t like a song. It’s perfectly okay to not like a song, it’s rare but everyone has their own preferences. If that does happen it’s cool, we’ll steer you to stuff you will enjoy more. All that said… “Hate?” Live. You’ll thank me later.
*BAND MAID!* One of the more unique things is how Band Maid will take you on different musical journeys. A few songs you can choose from: hate? yokohama performance Domination Puzzle Freedom *all live options* 🤘❤🔥🤘
This track was used as the ending theme for season 2 of Kengan Ashura, which is already on Netflix. They have a new track, Protect You, that's being used in an upcoming anime, Grendizer U, that you might have been thinking of.
Band-Maid plays many styles of music =) and their live performances are off the chart Po ! Domination Official Live was the song that turned me into a Maidiac but "HATE?" Official Live is on another level dude =) Thanks Nice Reaction !!!!!✌🤘
There is no right or wrong approach. The quality is so high, any song is a good choice. This is shown by the fact that there is no agreement about the top 10/20 Band Maid songs.
Speaking of anime, Band-Maid are dropping a new video on July 5th for the anime "Grendizer U" called "Protect You" it's the ending theme. Grendizer first introduced in 1975 as a manga, then turned into an anime and now refreshed in 2024. it's also a videogame on Steam and all consoles. cheers
Another maidiac is born you can choose any song and you wont go wrong there live videos is where they thrive I seen them live and trust me if you get the chance to see live i recommend you do it its amazing
2 bands that you can't go wrong with any song you pick. Band Maid and their good friends The Warning. 3 sisters out of Mexico. A whole lot of great music from these two bands. Love the Maids!
You absolutely did great with your research! You totally smoked me; I barely knew one name after three songs! Bring on Dad! Let’s goooo! 😂 Let us know what he likes so we’ll set you up with the best Maid jam for him By the way, I listened to every word you said during this reaction. This is the song you need to experience: “From Now On.” Official Music Video. Make sure you have good headphones 🎧 However, not yet. Because you want to see a live performance? There’s an official live for “Don’t you tell ME” from Yokohama Arena last year. That’s a good starting point for the lives. Hehe. You have no idea.
Thank you for reacting to our maids. I would also recommend reacting to Lovebites holy war live, Nemophila oiran live and Hanabie we love sweets. These are also all female Japanese metal bands. Greetings from Romania
I would take a look at the maids original MV for 'Thrill' so you can see just how far they've come over the past 11 years. Other songs used in Anime's are Sense and Glory. Almost every one of their songs has an awesome Guitar solo by Kanami, but my favorites are for Daydreaming & Blooming.
If you like guitar solos Band Maid is band for you. Kanami (lead guitar) is the best female guitar player in the world, she is amazing she is a guitar Queen!!! She plays her great solos in each Band Maid song so just keep listening Band Maid and you will enjoy awesome guitar playing every song! Thanks for your reaction.
No band has more diversity in the rock genre than Band-Maid today. Every combination of rock, punk, metal and pop you can think of and they have a unique song for it that's an absolute banger.
9:26 you mention they way she moves on the guitar. it is something that gets lost in video because of the frame rate and stage lights. seeing her play in person is unbelievable. from the wrist down her hand moves like a robot with extreme precision and speed and then you look back at her and she is just bobbing her head along with a big smile on her face like its nothing.
In my limited experience with NF, he brings more tears than smiles. Major composition talent. Band Maid brings me to tears sometimes, but smiles almost all the time. Kanami - major composition talent.
Considering they have done a few anime openers and closers now, I don' think people should get bad when it's compared to anime! They have another one coming out soon too! A show that can make them even bigger! I have found many great bands due to anime and I don't think it's a bad thing.
I love me some Band-Maid and Misa Misa Misa ! Kanami is an incredible guitarist and a musical genius. Not to distract you from Band-Maid but if you love the sound of electric guitar you absolutely have to watch Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble play “Texas Flood” live at the El Mocambo. You will not believe your eyes or ears. Cheers and a new sub from Texas! 🇨🇱🤘🏻🔥😎
Something you need to know. Band Maid doesn't play a genre, Band Maid IS a genre. Pop, punk, prog, rock Metal it doesn't matter. They meld these different genres into the awesome Band Maid sound
‘Moratorium’ live is a great song. If you like acoustic check out their Christmas special. Kanami is a genius. She rewrote hard rock songs by adapting them into acoustic versions.
Well you are two songs into Band-maid, You need to do the rest of the Japanese Triangle.. Band-maid, Lovebites and Nemophila. Over 200 songs between them, if you think you can handle it?? Next Band-maid song Freedom live Lovebites - Break the wall live Nemophila - Raitei official mv Enjoy the ride Dude, there is no turning back from here Best wishes from France
Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid. So exactly whose show was it? It was the Maid's show, as usual! 🤘🎀🤘Thx, Com8e
Yeah! A fellow trumpet player. I won't suggest songs as Ambassador Master Roger Chance has got you covered. Speaking of fire, you've done two of 3 MV's where fire in the filming of the videos were welcomed by the Maids. "Warning" OMV, "Shambles" OMV and "The Non-Fiction Days" OMV were all shot on very cold days. Them mentioned how the felt so good when the pyrotechnics were going to warm up them up. Anime, is good with me...like you said, it's something you like and you make an association to it. Nothing wrong with that. Just like how some first time reactors say they sound like or remind them of a certain band. Some take offense, but it the person likes that particular band, it's a good thing...as they are saying they like Band-Maid too. But often, they will come to learn...you can't pigeon toe the Maids into a genre... Band-Maid it the genre. They are masters of mixing and matching multiple genres in their songs. PO! 🕊 🤘😆🤘
Thanks for the reaction and comments. Yes, as you said, these ladies are FIRE!!!!! From Now On (MV) is an instrumental track that, compositionally, is at another level. It demonstrates the musical proficiencies of these amazing ladies. And, in particular, you'll appreciate Kanami's guitar playing. If you want extended guitar/bass solos in a video, check out Hate? (official live video). You won't regret it. Until next time...Cheers!
Not a Rabbit Hole. Like BabyMetal has a Fox Hole with BAND-MAID it's a Pigeon Hoke, because Miku is a pigeon. Yes! BAND-MAID has every kind of song, all different. But 'there are a handful of songs you want to see the Music Video and not the LIVE. 'Shambles' is one of them. The others are 'Unleash' because it's in anime form. 'Rinne' and 'Blooming' do have LIVE versions, but personally I think the OMV are the definitive versions. Other than that LIVE is usually the way to go. 'Domination' LIVE 'Real Existence' LIVE and 'Hate?' LIVE should be on your short list. It's always Ah-Kah-Ney, never A-Cane, because it's not English. Yes, this was commissioned as the season two closing theme for the Netflix anime, Kengan Ashura. It's been on Netflix Since 2019. They also did one called 'Glory' for Yu-Gi-Oh RAINS.
The song makes me cry, is definitely Anemone and possibly page and endless story. Great rock bangers: Moratoriam, Puzzle, Real Existence and more. Wonderland for some jazzy rock ballad with touch of prog. So many mid-tempo songs as well as fast and chaotic and some instrumentals. And I played trumpet and cornet, too! It's not easy at all, breathe control, moving fingers on those heavy pistons quickly was a nightmare 😂 I personally understand that it's natural for younger fans to associate them with anime. It was different in my days but I didn't mean my last comment to scare you. But I myself have been careful not to mention "anime" or "metal" in my comments 😅
You mentioned you played trumpet so for your information, Misa, the bassist, mentioned in an interview that she played alto horn, trumpet and guitar in school in addition to piano. Akane (a-ka-ne, vowels are short sound like the vowels in 'do,re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do'), the drummer, played trombone, guitar and piano and is also a DJ.
"Secondary Lead Vocalist" I like that. Most times people call Miku "backup vocals" but your description is more accurate, really, as occasionally Miku is the lead vocalist (in addition to always being backup). Band-Maid to wake you up? Yeah... Are you a Madiac yet? All you have to do is say it!
@@RogerChance5309 I second and third and fourth and fifth and sixth and seventh and eighth and ninth and tenth and eleventh and twelfth and thirteenth and fourteenth and fifteenth and sixteenth it. 🥵
Great reaction. As to learning the guitar, how difficult was it when you were first learning the trumpet? The fingering, the embouchure, the music notation, etc.? It takes years to get good on brass instruments (especially the trumpet), same as any musical instruments. Also, think of the bass guitar as the baritones/trombone/tubas in the school band, they play the lower notes.
There's nothing wrong with being introduced to rock music by anime. It's perfectly normal. It's true that anime opening songs are influenced by old rock and heavy metal. For example, in Japan, there are many arrangements that evoke a story with bright scales, build-ups, and key changes. Band-Maid's songs are produced mainly by Kanami and Miku, and sometimes by all the members, so they are not boring to listen to. The guitar riffs are cool, and they're sure to put a smile on your face. Since you have experience playing the trumpet, I recommend the opening song of Cowboy-Bebop (1998) as a try.
Whatever Band-Maid song that you listen to, will be your new favorite, until the next Band-Maid song that you listen to. Thats how good their discography is. Enjoy the pigeon hole.
If you like Band-maid, You should check out other Japanese all-female bands, Lovbites for example, you gonna like them too. Song "Holly war" live for start. Another band you should check Nemophila.
I was thinking the same thing. The average listener loses interest after about three minutes of not starting the reaction. I can understand if the reactor actually has a lot to say, but when you're on your 20th time of just repeating, "I'm so excited to start down this rabbit hole," then maybe it is well past time that you actually start down the rabbit hole!
you should learn guitar!...Miku did not know how to play the guitar also. Konami took her under her wing and became her sensei; look at her now. lol. You can look at their first video Thrill ( which saved them from being disbanded ) and look at Miku holding her guitar compared to the newer videos. She's holding her own with some Jedi level instrumentalists...:)
You can't do anything wrong when trying out different B-M songs as they are all good! However, due to the huge variation of genres they do, anything you do will get a weird impression of the band, until you have done at leat 30 songs, and that still might not be enough.
You should introduce them to your dad and his friends!🍺😁🤘🏻
HECK YEA!!!!
Yep what Roger said 👍🍻
I'm 66 if your dad likes R&R then he'll love this band.
Roger and the Carrier Pigeons get another notch! 🕊️✉️
What everyone said...👍 Help spread the word of Band-Maid and you will be assisting the Maids on their quest for World Domination!

You might enjoy DAYDREAMING (the video) for a more emotional slant. BAND-MAID is a worthwhile adventure. Thank you for your reactions to this band.
I agree, Daydreaming MV would be a great next step and change of pace, while still being amazing.
Great atmospheric video and one of Kanami's very best solos. 👍
Glad to see you returning to Band-Maid. There's no wrong way to go through their catalog. I just started checking out songs I thought sounded cool or reactors I liked had done.
Well....2 down.....130 plus to go !!!!!!! Go back and listen to this track....Akane's drum performance is absolutely off the charts !!!!!
Will be 140+ after couple of month with BAndmaid's new album lol!!!
OK , so I'm a month late, but welcome to a once in a lifetime experience.😸Band Maid🎀
As long as you pick from their page, you good
2 bands that you can't go wrong with any song you pick. Band Maid and their good friends The Warning. 3 sisters out of Mexico. A whole lot of great music from these two bands. Love the Maids!
More Kanami🥰? Check out Giovanni instrumental version. It's a "White Room" video
Band Maid !!!!!!!! Absolutely amazing Band !!!!!!!!!! God save the Queens 🎸🎵🎶🤘🤟💯❤
They'll be releasing a new OMV "Protect You" in 6 days. The song is the ending theme song for a new anime "Grendizer U '' which will be aired in July.
You absolutely did great with your research! You totally smoked me; I barely knew one name after three songs!
Bring on Dad! Let’s goooo! 😂
Let us know what he likes so we’ll set you up with the best Maid jam for him
By the way, I listened to every word you said during this reaction. This is the song you need to experience: “From Now On.” Official Music Video. Make sure you have good headphones 🎧
However, not yet. Because you want to see a live performance? There’s an official live for “Don’t you tell ME” from Yokohama Arena last year. That’s a good starting point for the lives.
Hehe. You have no idea.
The flames are real -- they are literally playing surrounded by fire. Now, Roger, my man, the ball is in your court, bro.
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!! "Push the envelope Like a Fierce Tiger"
Great reaction and thanks for sharing Band-Maid
Unleash!!!!!❤
I must have listened to this track 40 or 50 times I forget.
It always gives me chills and a rush!!
Kanami's hands are a thing of beauty.
Next Band-maid song Freedom live
Lovebites - Break the wall live
Nemophila - Raitei official mv
Enjoy the ride Dude, there is no turning back from here
Best wishes from France
I'd add Hanabie (opening for Jinjer in the US this year) to make it a square of rocking Japanese female bands. :)
Some additional recommendations, Dice - MV, Play - Live, From Now On - MV, Onset - Live. The last 2 are instrumentals since you like guitar solos.
Band Maid has several other anime songs, Different, Glory, Sense. Unleash is their own anime video!
You can literally just pick any band maid song.
This is impossible... and yet not even a little bit hyperbole, but actual fact.
Love Band Maid!!!
It's not easy at all, breathe control, moving fingers on those heavy pistons quickly was a nightmare 😂
I personally understand that it's natural for younger fans to associate them with anime. It was different in my days but I didn't mean my last comment to scare you. But I myself have been careful not to mention "anime" or "metal" in my comments 😅
Only because I've had bad experiences as you may imagine.
Ull b speaking pigeon in no time po!
🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️😁👍🍻🍻
😂😂😂😂
Kurrupo!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
"Secondary Lead Vocalist" I like that. Most times people call Miku "backup vocals" but your description is more accurate, really, as occasionally Miku is the lead vocalist (in addition to always being backup).
Band-Maid to wake you up? Yeah... Are you a Madiac yet? All you have to do is say it!
Pigeonhole 🕊️ not rabbit hole 🐇 Po!
You should try some of their official live videos......any live video would do....seriously....lol. Chose Me is in my top 10 Bandmaid list.
If you like guitar finger work you need to check out "LOVEBITES" (Holy War) to be totally blown away!!!!! Thanks for what you do!!!!!
Hey COM8E we are voting on the next request I’ll get back to you later tonight. 🍺😁
Good Idea. Maybe I will put a Poll out and we can all vote! Thanks Roger!
@@COM8EReactsActually it’s unanimous on our server that you react to ‘Hate’ official live. (Not the one from Lollapalooza) 🍺🥴
@@RogerChance5309 I second and third and fourth and fifth and sixth and seventh and eighth and ninth and tenth and eleventh and twelfth and thirteenth and fourteenth and fifteenth and sixteenth it. 🥵
@@RogerChance5309 Yeah it's nice to have the camera on the musician who's actually playing lol
@@COM8EReactscould you also give a shoutout to the carrier pigeons (BM4, ATL and Papinoob) on you next Maid reaction?
Try Hate Live
Sssoooo a nine minute opening might want to reduce that a bit
I was thinking the same thing. The average listener loses interest after about three minutes of not starting the reaction. I can understand if the reactor actually has a lot to say, but when you're on your 20th time of just repeating, "I'm so excited to start down this rabbit hole," then maybe it is well past time that you actually start down the rabbit hole!
I was giving the 10-second jump ahead key a real workout.
you should learn guitar!...Miku did not know how to play the guitar also.
Band-maid is live better wach the Song Hate? From Yokohama Arena nice reaction greeting from germany
