Our last week of work on the property was a busy one with lots of last-minute projects coming together! We had to repair the closet wall (which started to crumble during the bathroom demo!), we finished the plaster on the bedroom walls, and we finally got our kitchen cabinets delivered and installed.
However, it wasn't a week without its hiccups - mainly the fact that we kept losing electric power! It was a week of strong winds and the electricity went out in our village at least 3 times over the course of the week.
We also had to pack up our rental house and haul our suitcases over to our place, which is easier said than done when it's all dirt roads and bush. I'm sure we looked pretty ridiculous hauling stuff over stone fences, but I think our neighbours are used to our antics at this point.
Our time in Argentina flew by and we also wish we could have done more, but at the end of the day, we're pretty happy with our progress despite a rough start. The house is almost move in ready and we think that one more month of work will do the trick before we can actually move in! But for now, it's off to Buenos Aires and then Canada for a little while!

Next weekend we're launching a crowdfunding campaign in our village to help restore a building we donated, which will be used by the community. You can read more about it here ➡ fomento.villaberna.ar/en ⬅ but more will be revealed in the coming days! 😊
Hola Audrey Samuel y Daniel.
I'll bet those local Critters sure do miss you while you're gone
We're going to miss them too! We left lots of food and even some medication with their owners.
Wow, you guys have really made progress!!! So happy to see that the finish line is in sight and that you guys will be in your home next time. Yay!!!
Lo que les queda todavía por hacer
Nice job ❤🎉

How do you keep the property safe when you're away?
I really can’t wait to come visit one day! I see all your hard work and it will be something to look back on and enjoy

Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to seeing your return to the property and the finish line for the renovation project!!
Thank you, Emy! We'll be back again with an even bigger push to see this project through. For now, we're recharging and saving up! 😊
Can’t wait to see the segment of this journey. Great work ❤
All three of you are amazing. You have all worked so hard.❤
Thank you, Karen! 😊
I love your videos in the ranch ❤ it's amazing see you bringing life to the hotel again!
Gracias
Your English is much better than my Spanish (Argentine)!!! Keep at it.
Looking forward to your next adventure. We really enjoyed your Japan series last year!
Un finde sin video queda medio incompleto...
Los esperamos por acá!!
Hi Sam and Audrey and Daniel love your videos..one comment is that window in the kitchen does not look like a sliding window..what happened there
Haha, nope, it sure isn't! Our carpenter has to make some adjustments...there were some miscalculations. 😅
Good job dad you mixed the dry mix before you pored the water. Expert job
Eucalyptus trees are very flammable.
If you have problems with the power, you need to get a large generator. The weather is getting bad all over the world. Windy days, rains causing flooding etc.
Daddy knows!!!
Great video! Daniel is a legend.
Congratulations to the three of you. I have been following your journey and what a big difference since you started. Daniel was really a big help with his knowhow in caprtentry work and his experience and insights in doing things and about Argentina. Indeed it has been long journey but it an investment of time and resources but its all worth it, you'll see. Sam summed it all your experience: "we have made (a lot of) progress, (I would say), we have been experienced, we have been weathered, next time we come back, we'll make even more progress." God be with you.
Thank you for the encouragement. It hasn't been easy, but we're determined to see it all the way through! We've got a vision of what it can be and that's what we're working towards. 😊
Samuel tu positivismo lo agradezco!!!❤❤❤
Love this epi. An opportunity to take stock of my projects too, which were largely inspired by your vids...congrats!
Can't wait to stay at your place.
Hey Samuel and Audrey. Fellow former Torontonian here (Sherbourne & Carlton). I’m currently in South America and heading to Argentina soon, with Bariloche and the surrounding area as my destination. Do you know when spring typically starts in that region? I don’t mind the cold, but I’m trying to avoid freezing temperatures. Wishing you both a great trip.
Mid September for northern Patagonia is warmer
Can't wait to see the finished property.
Same here! We can envision the end result with the property all fixed up, and that's our motivation.
Gracias! Seguimos adelante!! 💪💪💪
Weird time to post you west coasters.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Which part of Argentina is this?
The Hills of Cordoba, in the centre of Argentina
@@rudymazar5266 Hey, thank you!
Near villa general belgrano, Córdoba
@@cervecero6466 Thank you!
The kitchen cabinets are beautiful and so special that you could reuse the wood from the ceiling, looks wonderful!
Yes, we're really happy with how they turned out. Especially since we trusted the carpenter to do his thing without offering any examples! We still have lots of wood left from the old roof, so we'll see what else we can do.
Beware of what we call okupas(people that enters and knowing theres nobody just occupies the place)
Wow! What happened with the sliding window in the kitchen? Did I miss that?
Good eye! It wouldn't have been a proper day on the job site without at least one hiccup. 😅 The measurements were off, so now we need to adapt to one fixed window pane and one sliding window. A task upon our return.
Another season wraps up. Good job. Wow! Cabinets. Something to look forward to when you come back.
Finally ❤
"Get your hands in the melée" Excellent motivational quote from father here. Love it!
Your dad is a legend
U.S. dollar “worthless paper”!! Por eso lo amo
You guys made amazing progress - great job! I know this is a bit late but you can now get solar-powered outdoor cameras to keep an eye on the property from afar...and once you're all done with the renos, you can use them for wildlife cams and stream them on UA-cam ☺
Thanks, we'll look into that for next time. We brought a home security system but our rural internet wasn't fast enough to run it. I'm sure the wildlife cams would capture plenty of foxes and wild boars, maybe even a puma!
Can’t wait to visit the hotel when you guys are done renovating! Greetings from Washington ❤
I'm excited to see your next adventure!
CUANDO VUELVEN ?
You guys have accomplished so much . The kitchen cabinets looked great. The interior walls fresh. A lot to build on ,the next time you go . Harriet and I went through the same process.
It's a learning curve. It was for us when we were working on our portuguese property. Safe travels back to Canada guys. 🥰 We love you guys. Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Thank you Jim and Harriet! You're right. It's good to take a step back and look at everything that's been accomplished. Sometimes it doesn't feel like much or like it's happening fast enough, but then we think back to the very beginning, and it's been leaps and bounds! I hope you two are well and enjoying the tail end of summer. Sending you greetings from Canada! 😊
Good job 😂🎉😅
Felicitaciones
