I had the slime pit myself but I didn't have Hordak so I pretended that Skeletor had stolen the device and used it for his own evil plans I even made up a story for the slime pit it starts like this On Hordeworld Horde Prime is making a new device for Hordak for use on the Rebellion Skeletor finds out and steals it Adora is on Eternia visiting her parents I think you will know what happens in the end

I once imagined that those who got slimed by Hordak would be put under his mind control.
I wanted this pretty bad, back in the day, but I never ended up getting it. Honestly, it looks pretty worth it nowadays! Even if I didn't use it often, it looks like it would make a nice display piece. It just looks awesome! I especially love all the ruins in the background of the box art - makes me think Hordak maybe found this ancient Slime Pit rather than made it himself. Gotta love that box art! Always fueling the imagination.
And what they got against Beastman? He comes in to work for a photoshoot and they end up sliming him three times over! Even on the can! Poor guy can't catch a break.

I had them all from grayskull to eternia (which i wished id saved) and this one was my favorite

I still use that canister for storing the smaller MOTU weapons in.
It's perfect for that!

For some reason, the "Mosquitor watches on in delight!" line cracks me up. Maybe because if he's directly facing the Slime Pit, his eyes are facing the other way.
What a thrillin' ritual! It's a toy from the 80s that - just like Castle Grayskull - mesmerizes me to this very day. Masters of the Universe for e v e r ! !
I got this for my 7 birthday! Wish I still had it. That slime had it's own unique smell.
Got this years ago. It's really cool. Can't believe that they made a good slime toy. Mattel was great in these days. At least they warned about flocked, squirter and battery powered toys. That's good. One of my favorite toys, that's for sure.
That brought back memories. I got the slime pit, but don't remember if it was for my birthday or Christmas. Man did I have fun with that toy set.

Watching this brought back many memories. Had tons of MOTU stuff when I was younger, including this set. Can't remember what happened to it...
This brings some good memories. I got this one for x-mas back in the day; when I think about it now, this is one of the pretty rare instances I wish there was something like the internet back in the 80s, becuase I would have learned how to make more slime once i ran out of the packaged ones.
This was one of the few he-man playsets I had, I forgot I even owned this until now but when I saw that cap on the slime barrel it all came back to me

I actually got to play with 3 of these at once and it was awesome slime everywhere. That black slime you used in another video would have been perfect for me when I was a kid trying to have Spider-man get sympioted
I recall having it as well. I recalled taking the skull and claw into the bubble bath pretending it was a monster coming up form a foggy valley

I have this toy and to this day my son adds the slime and slimes heman. Just make sure you don’t use moss man, mekaneck or grizzlor. Or any action figure with hair or fur like skin. Great review.

I remember this being the only play set for He-Man that my parents could ever afford. I LOVED this so much! Thank you for this video. I hated the hair, dirt and bubbles that would get into the slime though.
Wow... you are brave! I always told my stepbrother he could never EVER slim Grizzlor or Spikor. I didn't want to try to get it out of all of Spikor's spikes.

Hordak slime in the hair or stuck in the carpet. One of the greatest toys of the 80's, but we always seemed to find a way to get ourselves in trouble with it. Either way, great review as always Dan. The 13 Days of Slime has been good fun.
I never had the Slime Pit as a child. I did have the Real Ghostbusters Firehouse. I now have 4 Funko Pops of He-Man: He-Man. Hordak. Trapjaw and Horde Trooper. I've loved He-Man since childhood.

It's too bad that Mattel hasn't made a version of this for the Classics line. I imagine a lot of fun would be had with that.

I had this as a kid and I remember the tabs holding the skull on broke, still super awesome tho!
loved this toy when i was akid unfortunetly i was on holiday in wales and i opend it in the house we were stayin in and got the slime over the carpet lol but this still looks great today is mattel doing a classics version of this
a great classic....my next add to my collection
Managed to find one and get everything piece by piece last summer. Went ahead a used neon colored rubber string to simulate the slime pouring out so it looks like it's pouring all the time.
I remember the instructions warned against sliming characters with fur like Grizzlor and Moss Man. Of course that ended up being the first victims in my collection.
I can just picture kids in the 80s using this as a torture device for their sister's barbies... that's what I would of done lol too bad I'm a 90s kid. But sure love learning pop culture of the 80s :)
I hope one day we will get evil Slime Pit He-Man as a MOTUC figure.

The artwork on the box is still one of the most nightmarish arts to ever grace a toy box!
Had to do a lot of begging to get this for Christmas back in the day! Mom was always worried about that damn slime/gack getting on the carpet and making a mess. The only real mess this thing caused was when I tried using the slime on Moss Man. Totally ruined his pelt!

You left out the slime masks that could be placed over the figure's faces to make them "zombies".

I remember having this as a kid... but not for very long. I remember the slime drying out the very next day because I never closed the lid, and how much slime crust had to be chipped off. I think my mom got rid of it because of that, and I think I might have got some on the carpet too. It's been so many years, I'm not really sure.
Anyway, remembered this playset recently while watching the older MOTU cartoons on Netflix with my niece and nephews, and a thought came to me. Elmer's Glue has been advertising their slime recipe all summer, even as far has to have displays devoted to it in stores (at least at Walmart). So I'm wondering if this, or any other home made slime recipe, will work as a good replacement slime for these old slime toys? Have you ever tried those?

I remember a toy catalog where they foolishly used it on Grizzlor, so it probably ended up in the dump.
They need to make a Slime Pit for MotUC. Probably not with slime but with some transparent rubber plastic overlay molded after certain figures.
It's gotta be real slime!!!

+Paulie I think the slime would mess with the joints, but then again, you could put a plastic overlay over your figure, then dump the slime!

I had this. It was ace. The only other thing I had was Hordaks lair with that dragon. I assume I had Hordak as well as I remember the huge white crossbow BUT I don’t remember him at all.

Got one of these growing up. The slime that came with it was super watery and my.parents refused to buy me more after the first use lol. It messed up EVERYTHING.

By the tine this came out I was letting my toys to rest. Never liked it, but probably because I was becoming a teenager !

I remember having this as a child and my old roommate had it still in box and wouldn't sell it to me haha,, Somethiong about that skull I loved.
I would have slimed Evil-Lyn. But that's just me.
+halfmanhalfmetal I'd slime Glimmer. Sliming boy toys isn't any fun, guys love grody stuff like slime! I think it only works as a true punishment for the girly-girl characters. And now with MOTUC, you can slime all the girls without ruining them cuz they have plastic hair! Just one of the many reasons they need to make an MOTUC Slime Pit!
