Nice job. Looks like a fair deal. A quiet 21 FPE in .22 that's not too hard to cock and with a usable trigger, sounds good to me. They probably have some terrible quality alloy pellet for velocity testing, but I agree. They should take the high road and not advertise these pie in the sky velocity figures, unless they also state the pellet weight. (material shouldn't matter) I have a Stoeger X20 that I got maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Cocking is probably about the same effort as this one, but it only puts out 16 FPE. It's loud, and the trigger was terrible. (I upgraded that) As for whether it'd kill a raccoon at 40 yards, I think it would, assuming a well-placed chest or head shot, with domed pellets. Why do I think this? I just took a squirrel at 38 yards with my 12 FPE .177. At that range, energy was down to 7 FPE, and it went through an arm, through the upper chest, clipped the lungs, out the other side of the chest, through the other arm, and stopped just inside the skin on the other side. This was not a miracle shot, but it didn't hit a big shoulder bone or anything. Looking at some data from the Diana 48 in .22 from straightshooters, I see the Beeman Kodiak makes 21 FPE at the muzzle, and 13 FPE at 50 yds. So maybe 14 FPE @ 40? I figure double the energy that my shot took to go almost straight through a squirrel should do it for a raccoon, assuming good shot placement, and not hitting any big bones along the way. For future videos on springers, I'd like to see you cocking and shooting it, even if you're not a hot, twenty-something girl. It gives the gun a sense of scale and gives the cocking effort in perspective too. For example, 29 lbs of cocking effort may not be so impressive, if the gun is 4 ft. long to get that leverage.
I shot a friend's Trail NP2 this past weekend, and was immediately hooked on the light, smooth cocking and reasonable trigger. Later in the weekend, I noticed that Pyramyd had it on sale for $116 and I jumped on it. If I can get 1" 5-shot groups at 40 yards with its favorite pellet, I'll be happy. GTA has the deal on how to lighten the trigger. There's a kit on ebay for $15 shipped that is said to do it. Eutzler mentioned the screws loosening repeatedly. Did you experience that Kenny? I guess I'll Loctite them the first time it happens to me.
Hello Mr. Kenny, have you ever had to re-install the trigger on the NP2?? I disassembled mine and everything went OK, with cleaning, removal etc, but the trigger is giving me a fit trying to get it back in. The NPs were a breeze, but this one is not, at least to me.
800 at the most with 11.9 grain pellets. I have found that most Gamo's were on the low end of the power curve in there respective class. They shoot really well but just not as powerful as most other airguns.
I'm deciding between a benjamin np2 .22 and a umarex octane .22. The benjamin is at a slightly better price than the umarex is and I'm debating whether the extra power is worth it. What would you recommend?
Hey Kenny: You seem too be in to Benj. and Gamo, Umerex, Stoger, etc. Ijust bought a Walther Terrus. All reviews were positive and it fits into your low priced air gun review. I also have Benji. Trail NO, Which I love. Why not test a Terrus? e
I just got the Terrus yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I found Umarex in the box? I have not had time to play with it yet, BUT if I wanted a Umarex I would have bought one. Seems like the majority of these air guns are made or owned by about four corps.
Not yet. I've been on both sides of it though with the 85 Sniper Vortex and the Striker Edge. They share the same power plant and the Sniper shares the trigger.
I love my trail np2. But NOW!!... oh Im so sad.. I want one of those new Benjamin Maximus PCP 2000lb ones... under 200 dollars... Breaks my heart, but I will have one.. oh yes.. I will.
I love your videos, I have the ruger impact .22 and I hate the non adjustable trigger on it. It claims to have a 6.5lb trigger pull and it's really sloppy. The scope and optic sights are decent and the gun is accurate but the trigger is an absolute tragedy.
Hello hope everything is well with you I am considering buying the same rifle that's why am checking with you first and 3 more reviews..thanks for the great information and have a blessed day ... subscribe 👍 ... rick MacGyver 305 👈 tricked rifles out of scrapes laying around 👈👍

What type of bipod are you using and does it interfere with cocking?
Plastic Bipod for display only.
can i bring that on a outdoor camping no need for license?
Check your local laws.
I was thinking of getting this rife thanks for review think I will get one
ok my gamo says 975 for pba what you think lead is.

whats a good feet per second for 14.3twenty two pellet
For a Magnum Springer anything over 750fps and for a Super Magnum anything over 900fps.
9:20 chrony test.
I thought this rifle was 26 fpe unless you don't have the np2 model
I just don’t like pellet guns that don’t have open sights on them. I like to have a option scope are not. Wouldn’t buy 1 like this. R.I.P Kenny
wish you would do a review on it.

I like them both. Your Wallet has the best answer. You get what you pay for with both guns.

1st I have to get rid of a few Airguns before I go out and get any more.
Umarex and Stoeger.
Ignite Black Ops, Umarex Fuel, Beeman DC Gas Ram ect.

Yeah. They own Walther, Hammerli, Ruger and RWS. Looks like Umarex is is sending me a Torq next.
Good review. Can you look into and review a Hatsan 95 QE rifle
