100 Mile Wilderness! Wait until you see Baxter State Park! Katahdin is such a trophy, especially the views. That's why it's The Crown of Maine!,Safe travels! ❤❤❤❤❤
My wife and I have bets on your reactions when you touch the “sign”. I say tears, whoopee, Mt Katahdin is in the bag n 2,197 miles of the Appalachian Trail is in the bag. My wife says whoopee, whoopee, whoopee n a it’s in the bag. Whatever it’s been great following you on the journey.
it's so awesome that you are so self aware of your own body's needs and smart enough to plan to allow for the healing process when you're done-even while keeping in shape at the same time..excellent advice for any distance hiker:)
"I can smell the victory " Looking forward to your Hundred Mile Woods!!! Thank you for making us a part of this vicarious hiking adventure. It's wonderful to see you Living Life!!!❤
Congrats on 2100 miles! I get tired DRIVING 2100 miles. Absolutely gorgeous campsite at the end. The lake was really pretty. Great view from the top of Baron (sp) Mt. Mama K getting close!
I've enjoyed watching your videos on the AT. I can't hike or backpack anymore, but I still enjoy watching you on the AT. BTW, on Jan. 3rd, I died on the OR table between 12:30 and 2 am. I enjoy every day of life. Every day is a GREAT day.
Plantar Fasciitis also called policeman's heel. I currently suffer from it. Hurts like a bitch after being off it for awhile. Getting up to use the restroom in the middle of the night is a chore in itself. I get up and work all day with just a slight pain but like you mentioned it's a strange that you can walk on it but then it hurts after non use. You're almost there good luck and be safe.
Same here with plantar fasciitis. The pain getting up at night or morning is where the foot has tightened up at night because of the angle it’s resting in. There is foot braces you can sleep in to keep your foot at a ninety degree angle, not comfortable but they work. Also before you step on your foot after you get up do some foot stretches to loosen the tendon and it won’t hurt near as bad. I’ve been dealing with it for almost a year but hopefully getting better. Hope you both feel better from it soon!
Hay Fortune here's another trail for you after you finish the Appalachian trail the North country scenic trail it's supposed to connect into the Appalachian trail somewhere in Vermont but it runs from Vermont all the way to North Dakota and by the time they're done connecting it with other Trails it will go from Vermont all the way to Oregon but right now all I know is it goes to North Dakota about 4,800 miles I plan on doing both the Appalachian trail and the North country scenic trail the North country scenic trail runs right through Battle Creek Michigan where I live it runs like I said from Vermont to New York Pennsylvania Ohio Michigan wisconsin-minnesota and North Dakota you might want to check it out see if you want to do it or not God bless happy trails and can't wait to see the end God bless
That’s a tough cold one for sure… I’m sure I’ll do parts of it if not the whole thing in the future…you’ll have to let me know what you think if you get to it before me
Even though that sign is there…it’s really not too much different though than most other decently long sections on the at..there are still roads, lodges, heck even two companies that food drop…it’s not shut off from the world like many think….HOWEVER….its still rough terrain and climbing and fording rivers and even though I go through at 20 + miles a day…most cannot…so people should definitely plan on 10 a day through there..and act accordingly. It’s still Maine even if cruiser…it’s wild!!
Katahdin is getting closer in sight! You have overcome a lot of obstacles to get where you are at, glad you are ENJOYING LIFE!!! Great video!!!
Congratulations on 2100 miles. You have overcome challenges and are almost there!! So exciting. 🎉
I like this, you aren't messing around.

I never heard it called that…and you’re right…getting up to pee in mid of night is usually the most painful.

I know that people read the sign and don't believe it, but some people don't prepare for the 100-mile wilderness.
