I really like this show and I think it has a lot of potential and they perform great. They just really need to clean up and I think they could do awesome. Not hating on them at all just making observations. A lot of it might have to do with the tuning too, it really exposes them.
Damien Masterson from UA-cam: I agree 100%!! It takes a great deal of work and dedication every competition. Personally, I really appreciate a GREAT PERCUSSION SECTION. Good luck as you compete this season.
Okay. Not a negative comment towards anyone. Nothing but peace and love for all the performing groups even if I do not like their shows. The Natal drums, however . . . . [/vomit]
You are putting out the most and the best right now. Most people don't see this type of footage, especially in WGI. I applaud you! Most important videos for any marching percussionists.
Just wanted to say congrats on making it center snare for Mandarins, heard you made it since Tommy was there! I can't wait march there in the future. And your videos are great too been watching since '15 I just never post comments but hey here's one! :)
This isn't a negative comment against RCC but maybe against the camera person. You got such a close up on some of those snare parts that all I saw was balls jiggling due to those tight pants. Balls just bouncing uncontrollably.
Why exercise are they playing at 3:00? I'm curious to some of the timingings, and it seems like a nice replacement for eight on a hand haha. If anyone has the sheets that would be very appreciated!
That 4 mallet thing that the tenors did never really came off great. I see what they are trying to do, but it just doesn't work. I'm surprised they didn't change it. (The ending one hand roll thing) ehhhh
My old high school got System Blues with Remo heads and they sound amazing. The snares and quads sounded very nice, but I have yet to hear the basses since they just bought them. Remo always requires a bit more attention, but you can make them sound so much better than Evans if you have the time.
Gavin Goodall It's a napkin that's taped to the head. It keeps it from resonating a lot. They normally go for a really dry and crisp sound, so they they use that to dampen it.
WAK Fury no they just changed the heads and rims they used during outdoor season, just different sound. I personally preferred how they sound during this past bd season
I'm going to say it. Love them... BUT. Those outfits and dance cups may be needed for them. Just keeping it real. Would be embarrassed to wear such an "exposed", "hanging.." outfit.
RDawg007 In my opinion, I prefer Mapex or Dynasty. Mainly because my school uses Mapex, lol. And Dynasty, because if tuned correctly with some Remo heads, ooh you got yourself a clean line. But I feel like System Blue sounds like a bunch of plastic tbh, basses sound stock af, and tenors just sound plain. I mainly blame Evans head's because they give drums weird sounds, Remo gives the drums their true sounds. My percussion director who was all about Evans switched to Remo recently and loves the good sound quality of the drums. He said, "boy, I don't think I've ever heard a tenor drum with such a good tenor sound, instead of sounding like tin cans".
Bluecoats this year sounded pretty good though with the Evans heads. I feel like they give more of that open sound for field but I agree with you that Remo heads are just so much better regardless, they have that piercing effect on people when you play. These drums I think are just weird with them. Just like everyone else I'd be really interested what they sound like with Blackmaxes. Do you think anyone has got their line outfitted with the System Blue drums? Like a high school or another group with them? I know that they give rates on their website if you're thinking about getting your whole line drums.
Keep your negative comments towards RCC to yourself. I don't allow hate on my channel.
Damien Masterson from UA-cam. Quiero aprender más.

Free speech.

Thanks! I appreciate your kind words!
Even after five years this show still holds the title of being my favorite WGI show. Thank you for the video! It's great to come back to.
if we have learned anything from history, its that RCC will be clean at Dayton lol
It's kinda crazy how huge of a transformation can take place after just a few months.
same with bd

why u staring 🤨🤨
Did the snare with ear spacers in the beginning march bluecoats last season
Are you talking about the handsome man with the plugs and tattoos? If so, yes he did. His name is Landon.
Now thats the snare tuning I can stand! Haha
Great video quality as always!!! That snare break is ridiculous!!!!
😎🎶❤That cymbal line is icing❤🎶😎
Oh they have system blue drums and that’s interesting tuning in the bass drums I like it
7:25 that summer of 77 throwback at the end of the phrase, I SEE THAT!
Really love the tenor feature in 1. The four mallets and splits in them are just fucking mad cool.
Thanks for posting such amazing lot videos! Absolutely love watching them. Keep it up!!Excited for 2018 season👌
Those guys are drumming! Wow 🔥🔥
What's the warmup at 4:44 it's really good
Wtf was that tuning on the bass drums
W Jones I think it sounds great

Te warm up is called RCC eights you can find sheet music on the snare science website!
That 4 mallet thing that the tenors did never really came off great. I see what they are trying to do, but it just doesn't work. I'm surprised they didn't change it. (The ending one hand roll thing) ehhhh
I like RCC but drum 3 on tenors needs to be tuned up
That was awesome thanks for Sharing
Ohhhhhhh yes. That's the good stuff
11:30 Amazing!
i wanna hear the drums with remo heads on them
yoletsgetpizza too bad

Did the center quad march with the devils last season ?
Pauk Bunyin yes I believe so
Steven Takeda
4 mallets on quads??
the rcc pit is mental.
Is it that time of year again already??
Does anyone know why they filled back in the rims on the tenors?
probably for strength, those rims were probably all sorts of bent with the zone cuts.
experimentation for sound quality
Gave them an excuse for hitting rims.
Late comment but do you know what that white patch is on the bottom of the drum and the beginning?
Gavin Goodall

Drummerboy 98 thanks!
They took out the huge gock... dang.
Why is there a patch on the side head of the snares and why?
Johnny Lo makes the bottom head not resonate as much. Cuts off overtones and makes the drum drier
it hides dirt lol

Pit book is A1 as always
Just out of curiosity. Are the quads out of tune??
WAK Fury no they just changed the heads and rims they used during outdoor season, just different sound. I personally preferred how they sound during this past bd season
WAK Fury Don’t listen to him the quads are out of tune+they’re using the same heads as in outdoor
4:42
Anyone know the name of the first excercise they do
William Howald Accs and cents
are the snares using evans level 360 heads?
@bigboi benzbo Yes
I'm going to say it. Love them... BUT. Those outfits and dance cups may be needed for them. Just keeping it real. Would be embarrassed to wear such an "exposed", "hanging.." outfit.
Ballett?? 👀
Yes
What is RCC's show this year?
silence of the heavens
Watch the bass break and snare break at 1.25x speed
10:00 is do dirty 🤧
Are those System Blue drums?
They have a very unique sound. Especially after listening to Yamaha and Pearl for years. Awesome footage. line sounds incredible.

Raul Lopez the tenors are just out of tune which doesn't help with sound

It is clean af but it isn't pulling in my attention. Needs more pit :)
Please post pit lots Master Damien
Why does manzo tap off warm ups but not show parts drill?
Yo Miles is actually mad thicc wtf
No pit😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
not a big fan of those system blue drums, haha. Nonetheless, these guys know what they're doing and play very well!
bass 5 is THICC
So this is what inspired Madison
Who wrote this music? :/
What the hell are they wearing
Casey Miller Uniforms
Elliot Lubak no its a gay jumpsuit and they aren't even using real drums 😂👎
RCC's music is always so exposed!
Kind like dci wg i
howww
Honestly in my opinion, this is better music than pulse percussion 🤘🏼
