Probably one of the best ever live recordings I’ve seen but an interesting song to start on for Rush. Most do Tom Sawyer official video as that song is one of their most well known. They were around for 40+ years but the drummer passed away in 2020 and Rush is not Rush without Neil on drums. If you do more Rush, you’ll likely get a lot of subs here requesting stuff. A few other bands like Nightwish (ghost live score live at wacken) will also bring out the fans here.
It's amazing how young people for the first time listen to and interpret very remarkable performances by in this case, three of the most premier musicians (possibly) in their time and refer to one of the members as a cartoon character. That's pretty touching. Props though she knows what a wind chime is. lol
Bless your naive heart. There is absolutely no country rockabilly in this song. It is rock n roll perfection. You have been baptized. Three men just played a symphony just for you.
I can't help it so forgive me but seeing your face watching them THREE GUYS play all that music with the sound of a 5 piece band puts such a smile on my old face.
As a middle-aged Rush fanatic I always get a bit of a charge watching younger people discover this music. I will subscribe in the hopes that more Rush is incoming. A couple of suggestions: "2112" (which is super long), "Witch Hunt" (part of a trilogy across multiple albums), "War Paint", "Jacob's Ladder"... the list is long. One final comment to Ms. Xee: You might want to pull up the lyrics while you listen, as the lyrical content is one of this band's many claims to fame. Some of it is very deep and all of it is pretty thought-provoking. Best wishes for your channel!
The bass player (Getty Lee) starting at 6:59 of the video, is playing the bass, synthesizer foot pedals and singing at the same time. He also plays the 6 string guitar at the end of the song. Alex Lifeson plays guitar and bass pedals. The drummer Neil Peart (died in 2020) also writes all of the lyrics, and was considered to be one of the best drummers all time.
Didn't quite get the comparison of Kevin Murphy to Geddy Lee, but an entertaining react video. Not sure if you really get the genius of Rush, but glad you had fun with it. Please check out more, you will be amazed.
Thank you for having excellent taste in audio & video quality Todd 🙏 P.S. - keep an eye on your subscription feed because boy do I have a surprise for you, one I just worked 2.5 months straight on
Taken from an old book/poem by Samuel Coleridge. Rush was once known as The Thinking Mans Band, You have to immerse yourself in the lyrics as well as the music
Nice reaction, I really enjoyed it. Most reactors start with Tom Sawyer (their most popular song) or Spirit of radio. As a long time Rush fan (Since 1976) I really appreciate the younger generation listening to the music I grew up with, especially this song. I was able to attend the "Exit stage left" concert, my first and end with R40. They were an amazing band to see live.
Love Rush! Saw them with my dad in 2008 before the drummer Neil Peart's unfortunate passing. Perhaps you could also check out the studio version of "Natural Science" by them. Thanks for the great reaction 😊.
That was always a fan favorite, and we loved it when they'd pull it out in concert. They were all very good friends, and Alex (the guitarist) and Geddy (the singer) were friends in high school and stayed close friends to this day. I feel so fortunate to have been able to see them so many times and watch their career explode like it did.
Great reaction. I'm obviously a long time RUSH fan. I grew up in Toronto and I bought all their albums. On another note, if you like this kind of music, try 'Awaken' by Yes. It's a compositional masterpiece. Kind regards, Alex
Neil Peart was the greatest drummer of all time in alot of people's opinions, including mine. Im a little bias considering Rush is my favorite band. You can't deny Neil's skill👍🏼🔥
Three of the best musicians to ever play combined into one band. If you notice, the lead singer (Geddy Lee) is playing bass with his hands, keyboards with his feet, and singing all at the same time. The drummer (the late Neil Peart) is easily in the top 3 best drummers of all time, and he was also the main songwriter for the band. The guitarist (Alex Lifeson) often gets overlooked compared to the other two, but he’s easily one of the best guitarists ever and he’s an instrumental (no pun intended) part of the band.
This is one of the greatest live performances ever. As good as this video is, watch them some 40 years later doing Working Man Live in Cleveland. Listen to the original song off of their debut album from 1974. Different drummer back then name John Rusty, co-founder of Rush. I promise you'll be totally blown away. These three geniuses got better with age. Neil Peart (pEARt) is the drummer, and is considered the best drummer that ever graced this planet. He is above all else. You're doing great sweetie. ROCK-'N'-ROLL 😊
Sun Tzu once said . . . Good music, caffeine, great user graphics, leather jacket & duragish kinda thing in tha hair requires no gratuitous cussing to complete the perfect reaction.
Bill Burr, creator of F Is For Family, is a drummer and fan of Led Zeppelin. He’s not so much a fan, however, of Rush. In fact, my theory is that the band Frank’s son adores is an amalgam of prog rock bands of the era. Checkout the episode where Frank takes his son to the concert. FYI, I’m a big fan of Rush and a fan of Bill Burr. For more Rush, I recommend The Spirit of Radio and Tom Sawyer for starters.
🤗 Subbed for Rush! 🥰 You are too cute! Do 'Tom Sawyer' or 'The Spirit of Radio' next please! ☺ Oh...... and welcome down the Rush Rabbit hole! 🤗 We have snacks! 😁🥰🐰
Love your vibe 😆. You should check out a band called TOOL, song "Descending". Epic journey. I think you'll totally vibe with it. They're an epic band if you haven't come across them yet. Cheers 🤘🏼👁🌀🌀🌀
Rush is an extremely deep Rabbit hole , Just be ready to expect the unexpected, The of the best ever for live show performances, The drummer writes the lyrics this show was when drummers used real percussion no electronics then , though you like live a lot of Rush songs you would need the lyrics if you are into them not that they can pt play live great but they have deep and meaningful full songs , Try Natural Science , Subdivisions, Tom Sawer ,Limelight , just a few to start with ,
LOVE the reaction!! :) ♥ “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13
Bill Burr (F is for Family's creator) hates prog rock, and has a particular grudge against Rush because he grew up a Led Zeppelin fan, and is an amateur drummer (which he mentions in his podcast and comedy routines). Fans of Zeppelin believe Jon Bonham is the Greatest Drummer Of All-Time, and Rush fans claim that title for Neil Peart. It's very likely the character of Kevin is an intentional jab at prog rock fans, and Rush fans in particular.
Probably the most abstract and disturbing reaction to Rush I have ever seen. References were way off base, and just (perhaps), forced and non-authentic. I'm guessing this woman has never read sheet music or played a musical instrument in her life. Good for you for trying. Please start with reacting to something more simple. This is not your genre. Good luck to you...
agreed. its like she looked up what music gets the most views and chose this. Maybe she should do a little research on the bands she's reacting to before making the videos, just my 2 cents.
“Am I about to go on a trip right now?” Yes.
I must compliment you for your very respectable taste in selecting a remastered version over the original 😉❤🙏
Hard to believe it's just 3 guys, speaks hugely for their talent - this video 40+ yeara ago

RUSH Army is present and prepared for duty.

You need to check out 2112 by Rush

Well you started with what is arguably the greatest live performance ever captured on video. Now check out Cygnus X1 Books I & II.
Wow what a start…❤

Keep pumpin'...! Rush are not from this world...lol
And yet if you hear them talk they are/were three of the most humble people you could meet.
