That looks to be a nice example of old iron there, good job grabbing it when you saw it. Hope it works well for you and thanks for showing it.
Great find! Defintely an underrated gun.
Another difference between 1911s and Star lookalikes is that while the thumb safety blocks the sear on the 1911, on the Stars the safety blocks the hammer from movement.
The thumb safety on the Star BM cams and lifts the hammer off of the sear such that the hammer's rotation is captured by the safety, not the sear. Imo the Star's thumb safety design is an improvement on Browning's
@@gltwnYes. Yes it is.
I bought a Model B about a month ago for my first handgun (N block, so made in 1943) and it is beautiful. Def worth it, I just wish Star wasn't defunct so they could keep making cool stuff (thinking about getting a Model 30 someday).
Always will watch big boom videos. I love big guns.
I really enjoy my rock island 1911 I've owned two of them but I traded my 45 in towards a 9mm model and I love it its my favorite carry piece atm
What a beauty!!!
I love it, can't wait to see it at the range` sounds really good when you rack it too, not bad at all for a 67 year old gun, not bad at all.. 😌and man oh mann that sig is sweet😝
Nice piece of history ya got there.
Glad to see out of a bubba's greasy mitts. 👌
I have 1 in 9mm largo
For the right price it would be nice to have.
I thought the first 1911's were just 1911 and then when the trigger cut-out and the shortened trigger was adopted the pistol was then considered a 1911 A1? I guess I say this as opposed to considering the handgun variants being referred to as a "1st generation A1" or a "2nd generation A1". Just trying to get my nomenclature straight.
Great video and very informative. You Americans are so lucky to have a rich gun history that stays alive due to the hard work of many owners. Here in Canada our government is busy(illegally) not following their own protocols and trying to ban us from having ANY guns. Luckily I saw the writing on the wall and managed to acquire some of the handguns I wanted before the so-called "freeze" . The freeze disallows any law abiding citizen that isn't in Law Enforcement/Security or an Olympic Shooter to buy/sell any handgun. Truly ridiculous.
BTW subscribed! Wish I lived in the US!
If you ever get your hand on a Llama those are also really great 1911 clones especially the Model III-A.
I join your opinion
Have one and a star BM. My model B has plum parts which I think was done by Russia.
"The barrel`s a bit smaller because it happens to be a nine mammama, nine mamlammlalama.... Yeahhh" I LMFAO!
Really enjoyed your commentary, I subbed .
I have been looking for a star model b or star super for years
