@@bgreg6069There are a couple of meanings that I find in this verse: Some people live off credit and give the appearance of being rich, while others live below their means, but are worth a lot of money. Another meaning that is probably more in keeping with the rest of Scripture is that one man is rich in this life but has nothing in the spiritual realm and the after life. Another guy uses his money even to the point of making himself poor, but has great spiritual blessings and a place with our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. You can see these principles in the Gospels.

Great content as always. Getting off the never ending car payment train is one of the most powerful financial choices that a regular person can do. When you are driving down the road some people might like your car - but they really don’t care who is behind the wheel. Every month that I keep driving my paid off car is like putting $700 to $800 into my pocket that I can put towards a higher use. Do this for many years in a row and it becomes a life changing sum of money. Learn to do simple car maintenance like oil changes, and then they become low cost chores that pay off in long vehicle life. Changing oil more frequently is the cheapest way to get vehicles into the 200,000 to 300,000 mile range. Many people are trapped by payments on everything, use your savings by keeping your car beyond its payoff date and leveraging that into being debt free. It’s easy, anyone can do it and it doesn’t require any financial genius.

    • @StratMatt777

Changing brake pads is relatively easy too.
You were paying $800 a month for a car?! WOW!!!!!

    • @Thomas63r2

@@StratMatt777 According to industry statistics the average new car payment is now $770 for 6 years (or higher with no down payment, or for a luxury SUV or pickup). Yes, you can get lower payments - some banks offer up to ten year auto financing. I do not currently have any car payments, and I'm at a point in life where any future car purchases will be in cash outright. When I have financed cars I have purposely doubled up on payments, often paying more than $1,000 a month - so that my car would be quickly paid for in less than two years.

@@StratMatt777 Car payments are just simple math: amount financed, interest rate, term. No car is 100% reliable. Toyota generally makes good cars, but they have made some clunkers like the V6's that sludged up and the Tacomas with frames that rusted out. The supply of mythical 100% reliable 10 to 15 year old Toyotas is limited. Consumer reports only tracks reliability for a few years. In the U.S. when talking about which cars are most likely to still be on the road 15 years later its usually a Chevy, Ford, or GMC pickup truck.

@@Thomas63r2 My 16 year-old Toyota Corolla is 100% reliable. No problems. None. But I've taken care of it since I got it at 55,000 miles and it only has 130,000. Of course you could not find a car of this quality on a lot because a person like me would never ever part with it. So, yes, it is outrageously limited/not available for any price.
Toyotas are known to go 200,000 or 300,000+ miles. Hondas are good too. Nissan was great until they started installing CVTs 11 to 14 years ago (?)... that was their downfall.
The U.S. does make bullet proof trucks.

    • @missreynolds3637
      @missreynolds3637 4 місяці тому

Yep only buying what you have to have to survive it doesn't matter what the hoopty looks like as long as it gets you from point A to point B and the grocery store. We try to purchase almost all of the food we eat, and put up, around sales each week. End up spending less and having more in the long run, not having to buy that item for awhile. Best way to do that is build up staples in your pantry, to go or use with sale items to make meals with. By staples I mean seasonings, condiments you use, broth, oil, butter, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper, then the cheaper staples (if you like them or use them) such as beans, rice, and pastas. After you have those things built up concentrate on sale items each week and meal plan or put up extra to eat later. It helps with the grocery bill in the long run. Making meals that stretch is another good way to stretch or save dollars as well.

You can't keep printing money and increasing the money supply without consequence. Germany tried to print money after WW1 to pay off debts and reparations. It led to hyper inflation called stagflation and collapse of the economy. Eventually it will come to a conclusion. Pay for things outright, be a minimalist. Have a good rainy day fund.

My wife and I are 70 and we got to the point where we have zero debt. Our house is also fully paid for. We also moved to an area where the real estate taxes are absurdly low as are our car tabs.
Because we're on social security and a very small pension, we pay no income tax, state or federal. The biggest risk financially is the federal government doing some major cut back on social security payments to those that are receive it. But in my humble opinion, if they ever actually do that, that will be the least of our problems. So I don't worry about it. Regarding the risk to my children and my grandchildren, I look at it this way: every generation has its own cross to bear.
By the way, we are what credit card companies called deadbeats. That is, we use our credit cards to buy almost everything but then pay them off in full every month. That brings lots of benefits.

Even a house is a liability as requires maintenance, property taxes, etc. if fall behind on mortgage payment you have helped the banks asset, your house. You have been paying water, electricity etc. The bank takes it. You do not know true value of home til sell. It’s not liquid as takes awhile to sell. If you rent a home now an asset, money in your pocket every month. You never really own a house after you pay mortgage. Still property taxes. No money going into your
Pocket every month. A car is even worse as a depreciating liability.

This worked out great for me. I kick myself for not buying more NorCal property over the years.

There are many ways to cut back, and it adds up. Example, a case of water $ vs a refillable water bottle for work/exercise.
Search for the best price online. The same men’s coat was over $300 at two department stores, but ended up $107 at another one.
Pocketbooks, I could kick myself for wasting $ on a high end label. Now I wear a bag that I bought for an 1/8 of the price and love it!!
I think about the memory instead of a name to impress.
Hair salons - if a blow out is not included - do you need one after a single process color?
Shows and concerts can be really expensive for just one night. What about off-Broadway or community theatre instead?
    Go away off-season.

The best thing to do is drive older cars, maintain them well, learn how to do (some) home repairs, have no mortgage (if it’s possible) and live in a low property tax state (like SC). Inflation will exist of course, so some things (like food) will remain costly depending where you shop. With credit cards, use them, but always pay them in full every month. It is possible. I typically had a reasonable income, but saved very well, have zero debt, and live very conservatively (no expensive gadgets or shiny trinkets). I’m both frugal and cheap, I guess, but the Mrs and I don’t fret going to a restaurant for dinner now and then. Still working part time mostly for the healthcare, but just for another 5 years until Medicare.

The best part about a 401k is when you invest your money, Blackrock gets to manage those funds. Then they can use that money to purchase EVERY business which can then implement and force DEI on you as well as a social credit score to go along with your vaccine passport. Also they get to use that money to buy up EVERY house in your neighborhood, which they can then rent back to you.

You may understand business but you don't understand the basis of the money you touch everyday. That is just sad. The level of government debt changes nothing relative to how the economy functions.

So the amount of government debt has nothing to do with inflation and the eroding wealth of the working class? I paid cash for everything I own (car, 10 acre homestead, solar power, well). Sure feels good to be free from the oligarchs controled demolition of the working class. But hey, keep playing their game, maybe you can be one of the haves and not a have not when the rug gets pulled.

Smart shopping also is a good payoff, Ex: I am a motorcycle enthusiast , I wanted to buy a better helmet than the one i had, first I want to state, I generally will look and buy US goods first, ( I dont believe in supporting Communists ) In the case of this helmet, I found it was almost half the price for this particular (US made) helmet to buy it from a company in Sweden and have it shipped back to the states, It took a little longer to get , but for half the original MSRP is that not crazy ? American manufactured helmet shipped across the world then back cheaper than going to a local dealer and purchasing , makes no sense, other than this economy is designed to keep you drowning in debt if possible.

Very good video and most millionares are making it in real estate. A hidden jem is USDA if income plus debt income ratio is ideal. I have a mortgage offer of 6.1- just under6.2%. No money down. I am looking for single family that i can turn into adult foster care home. One can have 2 adults per bedroom. Each person brings $3,000 per person with no state tax just federal. The basement i can turn into my apt. and pay rent to self. I san take that cash flow and buy a FHA OR CONVENTIONAL an just keep douplicating it. In the past i got out of rentals and just fliped homes an i done all repairs. I had a very good profit margin. The title owner closed the home when i bought and closed when i closed. I just done repairs to bring it up to pass FHA inspections. Looking to buy now in my area HARD TO GET GOOD realtor who will send me listings.
