I guess if I'm using one sided fabric I need to glue the cuff on the wrong side before turning it inside out, just not sure by how much. Thank you for this pattern! I love it!
Diana Ross, Wish I had read your comment before I attempted my first gnome. I was all kinds of confused, trying to figure out which side of the material to start with. And the seam on my hat looks very raggedy because, I guess, it was glued on the wrong side. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do better on my next attempt.
@@P_A_L I am so sorry it was confusing. I just pinned Diana's comment to the top of the page so that others will see it first. I hope that you do another one. I was new at videos when I did that one. Trying to be more clear. Hang in there with me. Have a great weekend.
@@PattiJGood, thanks, I did make another one. It came out better, but I have come to the conclusion that I’m not skilled enough with a glue gun to get tidy results. I ended up buying a handheld sewing machine and using that for the seam instead of the glue. Another issue I ran into was the hat looked too flat. I think I bought material that was too thin. So, on my third attempt, I put a little stuffing inside the hat before glueing the beard in place. That helped. I also think the pom poms I bought are a bit too big. 1 inch. You said “small pom poms”, but small is subjective. For anyone reading these comments, I recommend 3/4 inch if you can find them. The large pom pom doesn’t ruin it, though. I just have to be careful to glue them at least halfway under the hat. So, with a few tries, I think I’ve got it now. Thanks!
Every Thanksgiving I make ornaments with my 10 grandchildren. This is perfect for this year...I can have everything ready to assemble and moms can help with the hot glue part. I think I'll even add a name tag with the year. Thank you for such a cute simple craft!
I just made one using a Newfoundland (Canada) tartan fabric & trimmed the hat with a fur yarn. It turned out great! I am going to make a few others using other tartans to gifts for friends & family. My daughter & daughter-in-law will do a craft afternoon next weekend and make some. My daughter has to make, bake or re-gift something for a college at work for Xmas party, so she is going to make her a couple of these ornaments! BTW… my sister & aunt were visiting this past week from Newfoundland. Each of us plus my daughter made your sock gnome! My daughter made her beard white but also gave him a little grey fu Manchu.
That's awesome Carolyn, I am so glad that ya'll are all making these. They are so quick and easy and that is exactly what we need this time of your. Happy Holidays
Thank you so much for sharing your adorable gnomes. My adult children and I like to make a different craft every winter and you have given us so many ideas.

Wanted to make these ornaments for this year ‘21. I have tried for months to try to print this pattern out. Mmmmm will not down load. Making my own... hope they turn out ok. 😃
Sorry that you are unable to download the pattern. Here is the direct link, try this one. drive.google.com/file/d/1Mlz40KvGcvVHFkbvzn21x5QbiUBEAAGj/view. If you still can't open it, let me know and I will email it to you.

I turned it up 1 1/2" before I turned it right side out so I could create the cuff on the hat when it turned it right side out.

Hi, if we don't have fur fabric for beard, how can we use instead ?
You can use yarn.
@@PattiJGood yes I made it this afternoon. I glue yarn on piece of fabric et then I brushed it.
Thanks so much for this much loved gnome pattern! Happy Holidays to you 🎅🏼
