Jetour T2 car is a serious off-roader, people have tested it in the harsh conditions of Nafud desert in Saudi Arabia and confirmed its high performance aspects.. the engine and gearbox never overheat regardless of what stressful driving you might exert on the car.. I even heard that some people have let go of their Land Rover Defender in favor of this Jetour T2!
That's great insights, thank you for sharing! We have no knowledge of Chery Cars reliability in AU yet, and Jetour being Chery sub-brand would certainly be met here with a dose of scepticism. But I do think it looks rather attractive and would probably compete nicely on our market.
@@ValueCarsAU Chinese brands are still considered exotic in Australia because they are selectively imported (maybe due to the toxic politics between the two countries).. but in some other markets, Chinese brands have already established themselves, they are considered mainstream now..
That is not entirely accurate as someone who is currently holding a reservation for this car in Kuwait (middle east), its not a body on frame truck, its a crossover similar to any AWD mazda or subaru and I dont expect it to be any more capable than this tier of cars. Apparently it does throw warning on the cluster when you get it in stuck in sand and try to push it by forcing acceleration (it will say overheating gearbox) but I am suspecting its more of a warning than an actual overheating as you can just use reverse and get it unstuck then keep pushing. (someone did say this warning showed up when he was on Eco, when he switched to X mode apparently you can bypass it). Still not sure how representable as I don't have the car myself yet. But i doubt it might be an issue in australia the climate might not be as harsh everywhere.
@@TheScorpio32 I haven't tested it myself either, I just reported what I heard from people who tested it themselves, therefore it is possible that I am wrong.. Anyway, I still think that for the price of this Jetour T2, it is a superb off-road car (good value for money).. Finally, China's production "overcapacity" is a blessing for the entire world, thanks to them we now have rich-in-features cars that are affordable to the masses 😄
@TheScorpio32 there is so far only one video about this overheating issue on Qatar (middle east country desert environmental). that specific driver was posting a video of him plating the car from beneath! he closed the ventilation heat dissipation. many people comment about this for him. i was worried about this overheating protection thing but as i said, many people tested it here where i live and none faced this issue except that guy. i dont any other videos complain about this no matter where i search.
U should come to Beijing and visist the auto show now, jetour showed its T2 phev and T5. Jetour T2 now is one of the most popular off-road car in China car market.
If both engine and gearbox had their own cooling system and with 2 extra fans in front of the radiator and with a better thermostat the car would be fantastic for hard off roading in the middle east
Cant wait for this to australia, i totally agreed with your words u say... who is not using goods from our China, even i phone is made in China, they just cant face this because their country CANNOT make such a great value for money products... live this t2 .❤
Sat in a customers Ineos 4WD the other day. Heaps of switches, even on the roof centre console. Really cool looking. The T2 looks nice but I suspect those plasticky external grab handles and roof rails will go white and crappy looking in the Australian sun like the old junky Korando did. I wouldn't bother comparing it to a Defender, the Jetour will be 100x better quality than those rattle boxes.
Lol I thought Defenders are okay, and it's the Range Rovers that are rubbish mate? 🤷♀️🤣 Ineos is just way way way too pricey for me to even bother looking into - not even for me personally, but for what my channel generally talks about. 100k+ for a relatively unknown brand vehicle on our shores? No, thanks.
I think it's too soft and plastic-y to be truly compared to a Defender, in all honesty. Plus, we don't have it in Australia, so this is still a bit out of reach for us.
@ yes you’re correct. It was inspired from a Defender. Chery Holdings and Range/Land rover are partners in China so yeah they shared notes. But again 1/3 of the price, parts logistics and can be driven daily by middleclassmen like me
This is a soft roader suv not a real hardcore 4x4. F150 is old technology so is built more rugged with its old style ladder frame. It’s designed for it, the T2 is designed for soft roading it’s obvious
Copying and iteration on the best designs is actually GOOD for designers, but you've made it clear that you actually don't understand how this process works, globally, so keep riding around on your fake high horse. I don't believe that everything you have is bespoke "brand" and never copied designs. Lol...
Here in Philippines, Jetour T2 cost around 41k USD, Range Rover Defender base is around 112k USD.
Wow T2 is more expensive than I thought, but of course still very cheap compared to a Defender.
cant wait for Australia to get this Jetour T2 to be in our market!
I think Chery confirmed they have no immediate plans for Jetour rollout here (which is a big shame too)
Its in the Middle East now. So great SUV 🎉
@@ValueCarsAU Do you know the reason why they have no plan?

I will next year 😉
Looks amazing if you dont wants to exteme off load
Exactly, good for on-road.
Yes Australia needs one
I agree!

I would doubt anyone would want a soft unibody 4WD without a frame for any "hard off-roading" anywhere in the world! 😉
This is currently being done by drivers in the Middle East for summer dune bashing
I think it looks great and the quality of these Chinese cars gets better and better. Yes, a contender if priced right and if it suits your needs.
I agree mate

I don't think they promised to bring these to Australia, but never say never...

1/3 the price of the Defender, better quality, better parts availability. This is made for soft to medium offroading for stock setup

This car looks sweet
Unfortunately not coming to AU
Getting one in Dubai! 4 month wait though!
Wow that's a LONG wait time mate
Now for the T2 you wait 5+ month in Dubai
Love mine
Glad to hear it
schönes Auto, kann ich in Nederland kaufen?
Why not check your dealerships around Netherlands rather than ask an Aussie reviewer guy? 🤷♀️🙄
The Defender and Jeep used to be cheap
Jeep certainly used to be 😭
Agree
Given that it do🎉ant have a ladder frame I see it m ore of a soft roader. Plus low ground clearance. Think Audi Q5
I've watched a lot of reviews after publishing this one and all-in-all don't think I'd buy this. Too soft, too low, the list continues.
Lovely
Isn't it
I have a F-150.... can chase this jetour in a min
Talk about comparing apples to oranges... 🙄🤷♀️🤣
The F150 is a totally different vehicle, engine, ladder frame and drive train. It’s more heavey duty and not to be compared to the T2.

I will never buy copy item.. this is bad for designers
